Hopefully nobody’s taking offense with my word choice. I didn’t really appreciate y’all at the time.

Holup! I almost forgot!!..

Yeah, Kill marks… cool, huh?

But ANTI-MISSOL-LAZORS, man! Just because ANTI-MISSOL-MISSOLS are just plain stupid when you can has lazors.

Oh no worries haha. I have fond memories of ore and ice stealing.

I doubt they’re so fragile as that, at least I hope that’s true.

Kill marks are purely cosmetic, because it is way too easy to add killmarks if they had any real value.

If I could improve the stats of my often-flown ships by killing an alt in a bunch of cheap frigates, I would. And with me everyone else.

Killmarks are cosmetic only and that’s exactly how it should be.

Do you also feel they should be almost invisible and not very interestingly designed?

They’re a bit hard to find indeed and it’s hard to spot them unless you’re intentionally looking for the kill marks. They could be a bit bigger in my opinion.

The design itself is good.

Its just a tiny chevron. Do you feel thats better than the sillouette of a ship, maybe one that denotes the size class? Or perhaps coloured to denote race, or different sizes of 5, 10 or 100 kills?

I do believe they already have different kill mark forms for the different factions, and they certainly have different signs for 10, as you can see on my prized hound:

Some more stuff about killmarks:

The problem is, I really cant.

But fair enough, I withdraw my objection.

I dont PvP and only have one ship that has a single KM on it so Ive never seen more than one.

Yeah I thought those were lights, sorry

No problem, it’s easy to miss them!

(It took me way too long to find the killmarks on this ship even when I knew it should have some :stuck_out_tongue: )

I’m basically in the same boat. I can’t tell what’s a killmark and what is a random dot of light.

How about “truck nuts” that grow bigger with every kill you get?

I only brought the Kill Marks as an example.
If they are, or could be exploitable, that’s a problem to be solved both through it’s code and the width of our scope when recognizing --or denying-- that it has a potential for being a “fun” factor, able to improve PVP experience.

I’ve seen examples of such exploits and beautiful close-ups of “legendary” achievements, something I’d love EVEN MORE to target and shoot at if it only blinked on my screen.
I bet there are a myriad ways to protect it’s viability and avoid it’s exploit if there was a remote intention to even begin imagining it as prizable, but such things require creativity, knowledge and a reasonable driver to see it as a possibility or as an-other “impossibility” under the void argument that at present, as it currently is, could mean trouble.

Sadly, such void arguments, lack of imagination and optimism are fundamental as obstacles for innovation.

You can create your own achievements in EVE if you have enough imagination.

If you wish ‘achievements’ to mean that your character fulfills a predetermined set of numbers that can easily be manipulated such as in other games, then maybe play one of those other games.
