Beside nuts , Can be also balls, goes so well with thorax , stabber geddon etc etc
Now I have to object, whatâs wrong with allowing creativity to be a viable choice in-game?
It may be a dressing for the grind, but if the grind is all that matters, why even have spaceships? Why not just a number?
I never said creativity should not be a viable choice ingame!
Iâd say the exact opposite: it should be a viable choice.
What I oppose in that post is their suggestion that CCP should tell us what our achievements should be. I think achievements should be something we creative players create, not some metric that the developer creates to artificially make us repeat the same actions over and over again to unlock some âachievementâ, like many other games do.
A good example of a creative player-created achievement is what Katia Sae did: they set their own goal of taking a picture of every planet in the game.
A good example of a bad game-determined achievement is what CCP tried by telling us to kill 3125 NPC pirates to unlock level 5 destruction in the activity tracker.
They can replace EVEâs gameplay with something like a spaceship-themed Cookie Clicker, and this game will have millions of players within a week. Seriously, just clicking to make points go up, which you can then spend on upgrades to earn more points, which make points go up faster, and an occasional positive reinforcement message on a shiny banner appearing on screen, saying stuff like âYou are a pirate!â or âYou are a fleet admiral!â and this would be the highest-grossing âMMOâ of all time.
Fair, I just was seeing echoes of Cypherpuss and his âbarbie money is no good and creativity is dumbâ arguments where there was none.
I just want more opportunity for there to be creativity in game, AND there be mechanics to support it.
I thought thats what Null was like already
I was under the impression that was how high sec looked like.
Null also has some people caring about making more ISK, but itâs also largely fighting for space and politics. At least in my experience.
Ive not experienced it from the inside, just from the outside and what people on the forums say.
Lots of krabs are very vocal, and the battles just seem to be a bit of a grind, so thats coloured my opinions somewhat. I generally doubted that the majority of people have anything to do with the political part.
As someone who has lived in null since I started the game, I do 0 with the political part. Yet politics still is part of what I do, as it just happens to you in null.
Politics tells you things like âThese are your enemies nowâ, or âYou should move all your stuff to this region now if you want to keep itâ and things like that. Keeps the game fresh.
I get that in Hisec and WHs too. Just different amounts of interaction I guess.
@Mike_Azariah I am very sad to hear that you might not run for the next CSM. I personally think you are good for the game and the players. I wish the CSM had two or three seats assigned for high sec only CSMs.
Have to say threw Mike my vote as well, along with Brisc. Two guys that have the Eve electorate as a whole covered.
A proper CSM would be a representative system with a limited number of seats available for grabs based on identification with a primary gameplay component. A more reasonable breakdown would be about 5-7 high-sec seats (including industry, mission-running, exploration, ganking, and war seats), at most two null-sec seats, and one seat each for wormholes and low-sec (with an additional separate seat for faction warfare).
Instead we have a system with 9 bloc-voted null-sec lobbyists and Mike, whoâs the equivalent of a pet they keep around to show everyone âsee? weâre not entirely biased!â
We all know Null-Sec works the numbers, High-Sec players are single players in the majority most donât even watch the forums let alone the CSM elections. Those of us that do well a minority we are.
When is the next election for CSM?
Spring/early summer most likely
and btw I do hope @Steve_Ronuken holds to his promise to run again.

Honestly? Most MMOâs give the player a choice of PvP or PvE;
WoW
Everquest I and II
ESO
Elite Dangerous (if we want to look at Space-Based MMOâs)
Basically every MMO I have played. Yes, PvP exists in these games - and has a huge community and following - but PvE also exists.
Now, I know and accept Eve doesnât work like that - and I kind of like it. Itâs what keeps me coming back. But as a new player⊠it can be an extradorinaiy jarring experience if theyâre coming from just about any other MMO.
Edit: And holy crap I necroâd a thread. Thatâs totally my bad folks.
No you didnât.
Contrary to questionable locks from the ISD, you are entitled to three months from the last reply before the thread is automatically closed.
If you post up to 89 days after the last post, you are fine and itâs not a necro. Your post was 20 days.
Mr Epeen
Not to mention that it is relevant since I have seen a post or two in the same vein I was speaking of (and the kerfluffle in Jita)
