Gankers During High-Sec PVE missions?

Exactly this. Chances are they’re flying a small, weakly tanked ship, like a Hecate or a Nergal. Your mission battleship can easily kill it, you just need to lower the transversal. The trick is to hit approach and start shooting, this will force him into PvP and CONCORD won’t help him. Then you can loot his wreck and turn the situation around.

This again. I’ll never forget that carebears are the one who created that mess. They deserved every gank in HS with no competition. RIP to the real Ag’s.

These were all good changes - especially the no “red flag” in high-sec for Alphas.

Before those changes. You can shoot Gankers BEFORE they attack.

How do you figure?

they are all -10’s

I don’t ever recall a time where gankers were all -10’s. There have been Tornados parked off Jita for over a decade…

ah those sitting ducks are the exceptions. You can gank them if you want.

I don’t ever recall being able to generally shoot “flashy reds” unless it was immediately after a gank.

I know. I’m with the AG’s before. Thier way of play style are Sg’s like but legally until the security change.

Biggest thing is PVE Fits are not suited for PVP so as a mission runner accept you are content for Pvpers. Your role is to avoid them do not engage and or make it easy for them to Gank you.

PVP = player versus player it doesn’t mean its consensual. Even in Null Sec unless your baiting the ratter will evade and not engage.

Because Null and Low Sec Suck over the years Empire Space has morphed and CCP has allowed it. There whole marketing is based on PVP, creating events to lure you into a ISK trap to become Content.

Is what it is and the only way to change it is with your feet you choose if you can avoid been content or play something else.

Blowing up (clarification: attacking) your MTU makes the ganker a “suspect” you can engage. The first reflex of someone who hasn’t seen it before may well be to target the Catalyst and shoot at it. Congratulations, you’re now engaged in consensual PvP!

PvE Everything includes players, you have to be prepared for everything.

Just for clarity: attacking (performing hostile action on) MTU turns you into a suspect, no need to actually blow it up (and I think no need for it to be a weapon system activation either so can be a scram or energy warfare and/or whatever that works on them).

Brother, new players, HiSec mission runners, and Miners have been posting this exact topic for over 20 years. “Why is it that in a game where 85% of the systems in game are free-for-all PvP zones, do certain people get their kicks by coming into your 15% and ruining your game experience?” You could go live in the new 1.0 sec systems where there’s no non-consensual PvP allowed, but the payouts are so low that it’s not worth the cost of ammo.

The short answer, because they are bad at actual PvP. You’ve already heard all of their awesome talking points: “You’re never safe in Eve”, “Get better at the game”, “Don’t fly what you can’t afford to loose”, “You consented to PvP when you undocked”, etc.

The funny thing is, most of the people posting that crap don’t have a dozen Low, WH, or Nullsec kills to their name. Why? Because they can’t kill an actual PvP pilot in a ship fit for PvP. What they can do is fly into a mission and gank a solo player who is PvE fit and preoccupied with the mission they are running or warp into a group of Mining ships designed for mining not combat. They pretend they have “skill”, but how much “skill” does it take to hop on your 18 alt accounts, warp to a target, and shoot? Why not go on a LowSec roam? Why not jump into a WH? Because, despite what they say here, they don’t want a fight, they don’t want “gameplay” they just want a kill mail and to possibly hear you cry about it in local.

My advice, forget about flying any of those big, cool, blinged out ships in HiSec. Go get a Drake, Gila, or VNI, and fit it with tech 2 modules. If your goal is to fly the big shiney ships, find yourself a corp in a big NullSec alliance. Settle down in a region where they roll wormholes as soon as they pop up, have 24/7 intel channels, and reaction fleets of Carriers and Dreds on standby to come bail you out on the off chance that you were watching Netflix and got jumped on. You’re actually safer to fly what you want, have a good time, and make more ISK there.

You should give ganking a try, it’s not as easy as you make it out to be. It takes genuine skill to pull an effective gank off.
