Gankers During High-Sec PVE missions?

And again someone “putting his two cents in the piggy bank”. This subject was beaten to death during all those years.

Ganking miners or pve mission ships in Eve is just a tiny part of the destruction happening in the game. it is so small that it’s not even worth mentioning it. It is also necessary for the balance of the economy.

I mined in HS, I still mine sometimes in HS, I run lvl4 pve missions in HS and I’ve never been ganked. And even if I have to lose a Dominix or a Mack,I can repay it easily in a few hours of pve or AFK mining in HS. I just avoid to stay AFK, I just avoid to mine in a crystal hulk with faction modules and keep a constant eye on the environment around me.

The fact that living in HS is maybe 97% safe and not 100% safe also teach you some basics in Eve that will help you survive longer if you later move in LS or NS. So it’s worth it. It also give you some adrenaline when it becomes hot. The game would be so boring if you would be 100% safe in HS.

So just accept the fact that most of the time, you will be safe but that there is still a tiny risk to lose your ship. If it happends, take it as a lesson that teach you how to avoid it the next time.

I wonder what game this is describing.

EvE has PvP in 100% of the systems in game.

Exordium? Never heard of it, or been there, probably just a myth.

I have and I quiet enjoy it from time to time. After all, the best way to learn how to counter something is to learn it’s behavior and tactics. I was more or less just replying to the OP about gankers showing up in L4 missions.

Now, to your point, I do admit that certain aspects of ganking, such as taking down freighters and Orcas in HiSec, does require a certain level of communication, coordination, skill, and ISK investment. To me that’s legitimate gameplay. The freighter pilot loaded with cargo valuable enough to warrant being ganked, or the Orca pilot running mining boost in a belt should have enough knowledge and experience to offer counter play. The ones who don’t have the knowledge and experience are easy to spot. They are the fully loaded freighter, fit with 3 cargo expanders, jumping gate to gate without a scout or the solo Orca sitting in a belt with mining drones out, 0 speed, not aligned to anything.

Will have to hard disagree on this. Heard these arguments for years when I ganked a lot, but it’s always just some salt. Truth be told, ganking for me at least, was just a way to get some downtime between yeeting carriers or whatever else in some lowsec drama, or just to clean the route so I am the only one servicing it with my own, code compliant, haulers for good premium. And moreso, I can attest that fellow agents all had very good experience in actual PVP (and funny enough, we even were from at war alliances, but we didn’t really discussed backgrounds or politics when pursuing the common goal to educate miners).

You don’t see the “real” pvp kills on gank alts, because it’s simply stupid to do so. 1. it’s unusual to be staged in hisec as you need to be available on your main in alliance/staging usually. Gankers need to change home stations often, which is not good to do on main for obvious logistics reasons. And lastly, there’s issue of tanked security ratings (if you pvp in LS, you kinda live with it, but for null/wh or even HS mains, the standing penalty is a thing that limits you quite a lot).

As for the skill - well, try to warp that fleet and see how it goes  You don’t need 18 to start, 3-4 is fine. There’s much more to it than fleetwarp… Proper scouting, warp in positioning, pulling condord to get max timers, managing the looting without getting counter ganked etc. It’s definitely not as demanding as piloting in alliance tournament, but definitely way more engaging than being in giant fleet achored on FC and pressing f1.

People often cite this, or refer to F1 monkeys etc. but I whilst I’m not saying flying anchored and shooting the broadcasts is as difficult or as many clicks per minute as AT flying or ESS malarky or whatnot, I don’t think it’s as easy as some like to make out.

Large battles last a long time, and can have long formups etc. remaining properly alert and being ready to react to what can be rapidly changing circumstances isn’t as simple as just pressing F1 occasionally, and the difference in performance between fleets who are paying attention and those who are not, is noticeable.

All activities in EvE require at least a modicum of skill and ability, except mining, that’s for drongos.

In FW, certain ships are restricted from certain sites. In High Sec, certain sec status should be restricted from entering gated mission sites. If you’re a -10 rde, no access to gated mission sites.

CONCORD is happy to pay capsuleers who wish to deal with non-capsuleer pirates in security status boosts.

CONCORD has no reason to block any capsuleers from entering mission sites where they could do good work for CONCORD.

And if a capsuleer abuses their ability to enter those sites to illegally attack other capsuleers CONCORD will rapidly respond and destroy the criminal’s ship anyway, like anywhere else in high security space.

In HS those who are below -5 are already limited in activities + anyone can shoot them (also local NPC police will arrive with some delay to help with it).

I Suspect he means more around the PVP part as whilst there is allot of skill to manage all of those ships that has zero skill with PVP. Its to a point a human robot aka Bot. PVP engagement is dynamic there are many things to do and it changes based on player reaction. So been able to manipulate a series of keystrokes not based on a player response isnt PVP Skill. Might as well just be a bot.

High sec shouldnt have ganking methods.

Exordium should be expanded in the entire high sec.

If people want PVP, the should go to low sec or null sec.

Accept the fact that some people dont want to play this game for the pvp, just want to get home and open eve for few hours.

Im doing level 3 missions in high sec with a cruiser for standings.

Im tired of being ganked by alpha pilots catalysts. Kill right? It’s a joke. They delete the alpha character and make another. Some people have alpha chars farms so they cycle alpha chars like toilet paper.

This game started to feel joyless to play. No more fun to login and run simple missions. Im afraid to undock even in high sec.

If people want pvp, go to low sec*, null sec or wormhole.

*ive been these past days in low sec to move assets. There were many empty systems. And max people ive seen, were like 4 -5 people in a system. So yeah…i see low sec as dead.

I thought the carebears made it so only omega could turn off safety in highsec?

Those poor newbro pilots blocked from the joy of venture hunting.

That’s correct since quite some time now.

I sad day for aspiring pirates everywhere!

High sec should have more ganking methods.

Exordium exists now.

If people don’t want PVP, they should go to the Exordium.

I’m hauling stuff around high sec with a freighter.

I’m tired of never being ganked by alpha pilots catalysts. No PvP for alpha? It’s a joke. The fun part of EVE is the PvP, and the chance of PvP even if you’re doing PvE, and alphas should get to experience that too.

This game started to feel joyless to play. No more fun to login and fly around the highsec. I’m never afraid to undock in high sec.

If people want no PvP, go to the Exordium or log out.

Yes, it should.

No, it should not. You sound like Uta.

Are we really going to get into this again?

Are you missioning right in the middle of gankersburg? Perhaps a system that is prominent with them? Do you know how to check kills in a system before hanging out in said system?

This horse has been beaten into oblivion. I would say that of all the gank complaints i read about…almost 98% of them are the fault of the person that got ganked. Fitting a ship and just blasting off to the nearest agent willy nilly will get you popped everytime.

I think this is an excellent idea.

CCP has already recognized that players who want a completely safe environment need a place where they can enjoy the game without worrying about other players interfering with their activities. There’s no reason to limit this philosophy to new players.

Obviously, the same balance considerations would need to apply.

Mining: Highsec should receive the new tier 0 variants of Veldspar and Scordite currently used in Exordium. The higher-value ores can remain in lowsec and nullsec, where the additional risk is more appropriate.

Exploration: Only the curated beginner exploration sites should spawn in highsec. Higher-tier relic and data sites can be reserved for players who are ready to accept the additional risks of more dangerous space.

Missions: Level 1 and 2 missions seem appropriate for a protected environment. Level 3 missions might be available in designated transition systems, but level 4 missions should require leaving HSordium.

Industry: Given the absence of meaningful risk, it would make sense to restrict manufacturing efficiency and impose the same additional taxes on industry that apply in Exordium. We wouldn’t want people becoming wealthy in a space where they can’t be attacked.

Structures: Player-owned structures and deployables should be prohibited. There’s no reason to let players establish permanent infrastructure in a region designed around safety and limited economic opportunities.

Markets: Highsec market activity should use the same elevated transaction taxes as Exordium. Players operating in a completely safe environment shouldn’t enjoy the same trading margins as those who are willing to expose themselves to risk. Broker fees should likewise reflect the additional protections provided by the authorities.

The more lucrative activities would remain available in lowsec and nullsec, where players can earn greater rewards in exchange for greater risk.

I think this would be a great opportunity to establish a consistent design philosophy throughout New Eden. Players who want safety can have it, and players who want better rewards can venture into more dangerous space.

Excellent idea, I say again.

Exactly send them to the island of misfit toys where they can mine all the veldspar and do all the super safe t1 missions they want.

Now the carebears can’t use the newbro excuse.

And we can spot the ones that hide behind the newbros and greet them when they leave the gate :face_blowing_a_kiss:

Technically impossible as alpha pilots cannot set safties to red in hisec, so therefore cannot gank you

Edit ty @Uriel_the_Flame pointing out my mistake

Ganking in HighSec it’s not PVP.

Stop lying to yourself stating otherwise. Players undock in high sec to do pve content, they dont undock with pvp first mindset.

When i want to undock in highsec, i shouldnt worry myself with things like “who is in local? how many ships are destroyed in local - this means nothing, it may be ships destroyed by rats not by other players”, because that’s why i stay in high sec… so i shouldnt worry with things like these.

If i’d want to worry, i would join a null sec or wormhole corporation, but i dont want to.

Ganking in highsec it’s done by players incapable of doing real pvp in low sec or null sec, because all gankers are searching for vulnerable targets for an easy kill.

If you’re so “pro leet pvp playa”, you’d go in low sec / null sec in search of players with a pvp mindset.

Ganking in HighSec it’s straight up griefing and bullying.
