And they do play those other games. That’s why the playerbase here is so weak.
I’m honestly fed up with you people complaining about CCPs development decisions then whining on that anyone who supports the changes should go play something else. How about you go play something else? This is not your game, you don’t get to decide who gets to enjoy it.
That’s your opinion, it’s not mine. Trying to cater to the current generation is an absolute necessity for EVE to evolve and keep operating.
After the last round of gank nerfing the debate is still on-going?! Why, you may ask. Well, because the demanding is done by some hardcore anti-pvp people who like some aspects of a pvp-game. And as foretold, by many others and myself on these forums, there is no set of measures that CCP could ever take to satisfy that tiny group of displaced players bar creating a complete safe-zone. Whichever generation they may or may not belong to is irrelevant.
In fact I consider these very loud anti-pvp’ers an asset to these forums. They serve a purpose. They advertize consistently the true nature of EvE Online: Nowhere is Safe, Salt will be harvested, EvE is Tough.
Thank you, good anti-pvp people, for crying out loud. Please continue to draw attention to the core property of EvE: it’s a full-on pvp game. It helps preventing other people from expecting anything else but the harsh reality in New Eden.
This is a hunter-gatherer’s game. We mine our rocks and then go out and kill some. We are a happy bunch. In fact, there’s an interesting article on the relative happiness of hunter-gatherer societies vs. modern societies.
It’s a never-ending whine and nerf fest with these people. They whine about PVP, whine about skills taking too long to train, whine about being so far behind veteran players, whine about Alphas not having enough, etc…
My opinion is older than yours. I inherited it from the fine print on the cd-box the game came in, and from the good people who started playing this game back in 2003. I developed some more of it by playing and experiencing the game. So get guud, and take the game setting for what it is: a dystopian, darwinian reality. If you cry for something else, tell yourself: Game Over.
EVE is a full-on, 24/7 PVP game. You can get your ship obliterated the instant you undock absolutely anywhere in the game, for any or no reason at all…
You’re like a decade too late with that sentiment. They’ve won. It wasn’t a close victory either, but a complete rout, and any further changes and concessions are tantamount to the rape of Carthage after the siege was over.
You guys are delusional to think that there’s any piracy left in the game that’s not effectively a statistical outlier, and that there’s still “24/7” open-world PvP in this game that’s not your cute little “null-sec roams.”
Thank you newbros are getting killed left and right.
There is no reason for newbro diing in venture literary NONE.
So called argument we do it for money yea maybe 5% of you rest are just a holes who get off killing newbros its like max level constantly killing lvl 1 in any other mmo. ITs discusting and all who do this shud be banned.
Im have no oposition to gankers who kill overprized stuff for loot. But this is DISCUSTING and PREVELENT NEWBRO HARRASEMENT!!! Nothing more.
So is the opinion that the sun orbits the Earth. Time to move on grandpa.
That’s not even true. It’s just you projecting what you like about the game. CCP clearly have a different view which is why there’s already instanced PvE. I believe that CCP should retain the open world nature by making it possible to have PvE without combat PvE without needing to instance it.
Clearly we’ll never agree though so there’s very little point in us both continuing to tell each other our opinions.
The only instanced PVE is the Abyss, and you can be nuked the instant you exit from the filament. Like I said, you can be openly attacked at any time, absolutely anywhere in the game…
Other than inside the Abyss or docked up in a station, name a single place where you absolutely cannot be attacked by another player. Don’t worry, I’ll wait…
The “opinion” that the sun orbits the Earth was a wrong one. It wasn’t even an opinion, it was a dogma. Perhaps you can look up the word and learn something.
You wanting to make this a generational issue shows your true colors, you can’t handle anything that isn’t spoonfeeding and handholding, something EvE is notoriously lacking btw by deliberate choice. You tried eve in 2014, then stopped for 5 years and came back to be scooped up by an organization that built itself on spamming recruiting mails on everything that logged in ? You’re in a bad spot to have any sort of founded opinion. But don’t let that prevent you from creating forum content. It’s entertaining.
Why do I need to name a place? You’ve just named them. That’s like you saying “Coins can only ever land on a face and be tails” and I say “nope” and you say “OK, other than heads name me what face a coin can land on, I’ll wait”.
right, just like how your opinion is wrong.
Your personal attacks won’t change the reality that EVE needs to cater to modern markets.
What are you basing this on? Clearly not on anything resembling reality.
It probably is. I haven’t bought PLEX for several months and I never did Omega a second account as I’d planned. Hark…do I hear the canary in the mine ?
You know what “tit for tat” means ? In addition to virtual ammo and balls of fire in a game about blowing stuff up you can’t handle words on a forum ? You want to dish it out but can’t handle the counterpunch ? You shouldn’t have started it then.
It’s not an opinion. It’s a conclusion reached by 1) reading CCP’s statements (quite important, try it), 2) playing the game on all parts of the map… One might say the conclusion was reached by doing research and experimenting
There’s this website … or multiple ones … There’s even one that shows how you landed yourself on your last known kills (2019) by using a Griffin with ECM, while concord did the dirty work. All publicly available data. Yes yes, all that is kept track of in Eve Online.
Oh, I almost forgot to reply to this genuine gem embedded in your post
The modern market has a group of die-hard pvp gamers who also happen to love space drama on multiple levels. It’s to them this game caters. It is perfect for their skill set as gamers and their tenacity. If you want a pve version without any significance you could try the test server.
