Ganking has not gone far enough

So you want to play a game where people benefit from not playing?

A valid point

If the OP wants a serious discussion as himself asked, then he should stop roleplaying that James crappy stuff. Some people actually have some good ideas and OP ruined the discussion with roleplay babling.

It’s not roleplay. We made an in game rule. If you are AFK, we will shoot you. It’s not roleplay. We actually do it (in game).

You saying AFK mining is forbidden IS roleplay , as there’s no game rule saying the opposite. The miner will pay the price eventually, and he deserves it, but it’s not FORBIDDEN , only in your group moral library

We really need more gankers. The generic pirate NPCs in the belts do not do enough. EVE Online is supposed to be dangerous!

If a player feels confident enough to go afk while they idly mine, does the sound like a dangerous universe to you? No! EVE is harsh and cruel! Only those who have the smarts and guts should be able to survive!

“PvP” in EVE is not some minigame or game mode like you would find it in any other game. It is always a means to an end. Yes there are certain people who just pew pew for entertainment, but in EVE you either find out how you do that profitable, grind and become occasionally the target for other PvPers or inject RL money.

Asking to change this would fundamentally change EVE and it would just become a bad version of other available games that do this sort of “Arena PvP”. Why destroy the unique game mechanics EVE has for no gain?

If you venture into a wormhole system to mine gas and then the locals blow you up and tell you it is their gas, is that role playing as well? Because no game rules say it is theirs. :man_shrugging:

And who is claiming their gas in forums? Here's a list:

Yeah nobody. So OP still replaying on a thread about game mechanics

That was a rather cheap attempt at avoiding the question. Now it’s only RP when it happens on the forums? So if someone claims a highsec system and the ore in there as their own in-game that is not role playing to you?

No, that’s not roleplaying, that’s what Helmut Kohl described as realpolitik.

It is if the thread is about game mechanics. What code or hisec claim has to do with proposed game machanics ? Nothing. Just one more attempt by them to gather more people as usual. Thing must be not going well

You claimed that it is about game mechanics actually. What CODE. does is normal interactions in the game. Players can enforce their own rules with power projection if they can and CODE. obviously is pretty good at that. You can chose to ignore them, like you can chose to ignore the guy claiming it’s “his” wormhole system. In both cases that may not be the best strategy.

No, you made an in game excuse. I have no objection to your activities, but don’t try and imply they have any other backing than the use of force to get your own way.

That is fine as long as they stop whining about the tank on the skiff. Or is that role playing?

Well, that’s the whole reason everybody has been talking non-stop about James and the CODE. for seven years now. He has the force, which is on his side. Indeed, Hobbes wrote that a lawful government can maintain itself only through violence. Every country enforces its laws, by arresting the perpetrators of evil. In James space, it is illegal to mine without a permit, and it is therefore illegal to mine AFK, as being is a violation of the terms and conditions of the permit (which is immediately revoked).

We may not have the time to save every lawless miner, and some like Dracvlad are just soo hard that even elite agents of the wormhole CODE. cannot find his nefarious mining fortress, but certainly every miner knows the long arm of James is reaching out for them.

Have never seen such people, because carebears do not place themselves in a position to be war decked, it is not possible good sir.

Exactly, most do not and therefore there is no reason to castigate this poor innocent ship for being tanky.

Well, to improve the high-sec ganking piracy mechanic the changes must include the player istead of NPC’s , as is already going on market.
Some solutions:

  • Nerf CONCORD at the point they are only a support to players
  • Buff concord hulls adding some specific roles - 10% damage DEALT regarding on sec status of the target, per sec-status point. Ability to engage any minus sec status anywere. Makind them unable to be used by negative sec-status.

This would add good content as people can form their police corps, sharing intels etc.
More like a perma war good guys vs bad guys.

These are just some toughts.

Exactly my point, so small lighty vessel crashing into big freighter results in small vessel vaporised, and big vessel slightly damaged and slightly out of course

That’s not how those laws of physics work

Little object with high velocity hits big object with low velocity, in a vacuum; one of two things is going to happen. The little object punches a hole in the big object, like a bullet or other projectile, or the big object is diverted from its chosen course at a significantly increased velocity. If someone decides to chuck a shitton of MWD frigates at a freighter, it’s going to look like a colander in very short order.

Currently with bumping the little object often masses about the same as a Nimitz class aircraft carrier and is moving at supersonic speeds.

Well would be not a perma war vs miners u would get concordokked same way, but not with those power. point is the concord damage never stopped gankers so their power failed… maybe we should give capsuleer the chance to prove their value on field
