They arent.
They are misusing the term, as it has been defined for 15 years.
They arent.
They are misusing the term, as it has been defined for 15 years.
*won’t
Aren’t you meant to be some kind of dictionary or something? Jesus dood, lrn2werds.
Tell that to them.
Words have set meanings/definitions.
They dont mean whatever you want them to.
You really are quite clueless, aren’t you.
No.
The people that misuse the term “gank”, are.
They dont know its definition, so they just made up one, cos it sounds cool in their minds to say “gank”.
Well, if you’re going to criticise someone else’s use of language, it might be less hypocritical of you to do so without the use of arbitrary commas to begin with. I could go through any number of posts of yours and point out where you’re using words wrong. As a BA in Coms myself, with Masters in English Lit, Journalism, and PR, I’m even qualified to do so.
At the end of the day, whether they’re using the word wrong or not is completely irrelevant. Everyone knows what everyone means when it’s used in the context of a discussion about EVE Online. So you’re going to have to get used to the fact that your critique in this department is going to fall mostly on deaf ears.
TL;DR nobody cares what you think, Salvos.
Ok Remiel.
Define, in context of EVE:
Oh, yet they and I care what you think?
Your autism is showing, buddy.
You may not realize it, but the world doesnt revolve around your navel.
I distinctly remember there being two camps at the time. One camp said “ganking just means to kill someone with overwhelming force”, but the other camp was very clear that if in the future there might be a space pixel game with some sort of safe zone that would enforce some sort of ingame penalty for ganking players in said safezone then the definition should clearly exclude that.
It was hotly debated for a long time; some people even tried to filibuster the vote. But in the end votes were cast and tallied up, and the outcome wasn’t even close. Keep in mind that this was a traumatic event for some.
Rumor has it that some people still haven’t gotten over it and are still trying to fight that last battle again.
Is this another one of your “I challenge you to do an arbitrary thing that won’t ultimately achieve anything at all but if you refuse to do it I can proclaim victory” things? It doesn’t matter how it’s defined, dude. What matters is how it’s used and interpreted. Words alone, without context, are meaningless.
You’re right that there’s a distinction between a suicide gank and a gank. The problem is, nobody gives one seventeenth of a ■■■■, because a suicide gank is still a gank. Just like there’s a distinction between a television and a plasma television. One is a specific kind of television, but it’s still also a television.
But when someone uses ‘ganking’ and ‘concord’ in a sentence together, it really doesn’t take much more than a goldfish brain to piece that puzzle together and figure out that ‘suicide ganking’ is being referenced.
If you’re suicide ganking, it means you’re poor or bored or you lack imagination or all of the above. But I guess it’s entry-level content, so play on!
I was watching a video of a guy who has made a career from scanning down forgotten MTU’s and collecting killmails. Never laughed so hard. I’d be trying that before exploding newbie miners.
So you couldnt just answer by defining two terms, as was my simple and direct query.
Okidoki.
Salvos, you’re talking as if I’m supposed to care. I’m only here to laugh at your continuous autistic screeching all over the forums.
Oh, the irony.
Define, in context of EVE:
Post number 42
Are you laughing about his autism?
Take a step back, and go outside pal
Oh he can laugh at my autism. It’d be hypocritical of me to deny him that, since I’m laughing at his.
See what happened there?
Rub you few braincells together.
You’re just being a goofus
Sorry if you’re still clueless about what ganking is 300 posts later
The irony. Oof
I didnt laugh at anything btw.
Just stated how ironic his post was, and that he refuses to define two terms when asked to.
No I don’t suspect you ever laugh actually.
