Ganking, or rather the Right to Gank

(Sol epoch) #690

Is that not everybodys opinion as to there play style?

(Clockwork Robot) #691

Part of me wants to ask how long people will struggle to keep this thread alive… But then I suppose having this thread continuing to exist means that the discussion is here, vice the hydra’s head of ganking discussion erupting all over the forum…

(Ima Wreckyou) #692

Not really, I don’t think I have special rights to ignore the ELUA because of my play style. Do you?

(darkestkhan Eriker) #693

You know how ownership of low sec systems works? The ones who bomb you nonstop tend to be the ones owning the system. Same in hs - uedama is sov of CODE.

(darkestkhan Eriker) #694

They do care about sec status and krs way too much, which does lead to situation in which they can;t do anything effective.

(Jonah Gravenstein) #695

That’s what alts are for, many gankers will be using alts to ply their trade in mayhem; what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

What game is this?

(Mevatla Vekraspek) #697

a fishing simulator

Thanks, if they add virtual homes where you can have a man cave with the biggest fish caught that might sell more micro transactions.

(DrysonBennington) #699

Uedama is not the Sov of CODE because the system is not labeled as being controlled by CODE.

Then why doesn’t CODE go into Null and use the same tactics to control territory?

Because they would have to actually work, such as going on long range roams, for their content.

(darkestkhan Eriker) #700

By the same reasoning Tama is not sov of Snuffed Out… really, the ones who control the area are the ones who own sov of it no matter what the in game ui would like to say about it. Your failure to understand it indicates your lack of experience with other parts of of space - low sec and wormholes in particular.

(Ima Wreckyou) #701

I don’t think there is any space in EVE he understands.

(Whitehound) #702

BDO stands for Black Desert Online I suppose. It’s Perl Abyss’ cash cow title.

(Australian Excellence) #703

You need to post more dryson

(Clockwork Robot) #704

First of all, you should feel like an ass for resurrecting This Thread two weeks after it had died. Seriously. An ass.

And secondly, the whole “code goes to null” thing has been discussed literally Ad nauseum. I actually just threw up a little bit. That’s how nauseum.

They aren’t going to go out into null. You know that. I know that. They know that. They don’t want to. What they want to do, is blow up other players for fun, and drama.

So stop being a pedant. You can either accept it, or you can keep railing on like a miserable whiner. One at least shows that you are able to make your own decisions about things, instead of being driven.

The other just makes you look like an ass.

Ass nauseum.

(Ima Wreckyou) #705

That is just how dryson works. If he is in Highsec and gets his ass kicked by CODE. he will create threads about “why don’t go lowsec pirates to Highsec and kill CODE?!” and if he runs away to provi and gets hiss ass kicked by PL he runs with “Why don’t CODE. comes to nullsec and kills PL?!”.

In the end it is really just a desperate cry for help, because he knows from personal experience that we kick ass and so he hopes if his cheap bait plays out that we will kick the ass of his current ass kicker.

It’s basically always “someone else do something!” in various forms. The best example of that was when I wardeced him with my one man corp, he immediately made a thread about how everyone should wardec my corp, ironically followed by another thread in another section of the forums where he cried about not being able to leave corp and dodge the wardec because of roles and how that is a bug CODE. abuses .

Agree with this post. Last night my alt was trying to move a freighter load through, just 300m risk worth of ore. But had to dock up and log out as ganker corps and gankers seemed to outnumber their prey. They were at each gate. As there is no real defence against bumping, it’s easier to dock up and try again when it’s quiet.

(Faylee Freir) #707

You’re completely right… kinda. It is much easier to dock up and try again when they are inactive and props to you for using that strategy. It’s a wise one!

There is counter-play to bumping and ganking but requires you to invest just as much time, energy, and resources as the gankers. That’s your decision to opt out and take the easier route. Can’t blame you though because moving when gankers are inactive is smart, but you can’t cry about something being unfair if you choose not to do it.

(Uriel the Flame) #708

No webber alt / friend, or that would not help?

(Ima Wreckyou) #709

Have you tried not using a capital ship that is susceptible to bumps when moving without escort. Or have you tried avoiding the two systems where people actually gank?
