Even the gankers often don’t understand why they do it. But people who would never gank understand why its done even less.
I struggle to decide whether human denial on the subject of “enjoyment of cruelty” is a good or bad thing. Would conscious understanding blow the lid off what’s keeping society from being more cruel than it is, or would understanding of that horrible side of ourselves steer it into more productive, safe, mutual and consensual forms?
At the very least, I do want better information to flow to new players on the subject so they will understand that most of them have signed up to be gazelles and cheetahs are a protected species.

This is the last thing Rion said, before the ‘antigankers’ murdered him.
He was so happy. All he had to do was obey the law. No bot mining in Highsec! He was the first miner to ever refuse to bot. So we set him blue, and he set us blue, and he was content, just being a newbro miner.
Rion loved mining. He liked listening to his lasers, and zooming out to hear the space wind. He found it relaxing, and he had an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of his favourite ores. In his spare time, he was training for the elite ice corps.
Then the antigankers came, and they hated that Rion was enjoying EVE, and he didn’t need their ‘help’. They were jealous and BITTER and felt like total failure losers, because here was this happy little miner. So the terrorist Githany Red dropped two overpriced blingy T2 catalysts on poor little Rion, and they MURDERED him. I put in 196 support tickets that day, to let CCP know about these Highsec griefer sociopaths.
The antigankers don’t want to help miners like Rion. They want the miners to die, and get ganked, and be miserable all the time. That’s the only way that antigankers can find any relevance. Without miners getting ganked, the antigankers won’t have anyone to ‘help’. So when they saw that Rion was mining with Safety…

…they just shot him dead.

I had a better story that I mailed to Dredd and he paid me the 1 bill . Which I’ll use to pay Rion for info on what it was like being a miner under the rule of the Pirate Princess , I’ll find him

I don’t really want to give my opinion about this because I want to see this debate continue but seems this rion thing is getting under Anti Gankers conscience. Piece of advice. Rion decided to join a gankers alliance and it’s too obvious from His profile. His mining in lonetreak a gankers haven . The blue that he sees are gankers because they are His alliance. If his a true newbie
He became a collateral damage between the fight of gankers and anti gankers. He just lost a venture. If his alliance really concerned about him. They should explain what happened and replace His lost venture.

In fact, I think it’s the opposite; anti-gankers are exceptionally-successful gankers. They managed to do something that no ganker has ever been able to accomplish: kill a completely innocent player who was following all the rules, and doing everything by the book.
