do you remember there was a CD at the stores that came with HL2, Team Fortress 2, Blue Shift and Opposing Foces? for line 1/5th of EVE’s today’s subscription? lol
orange box , for 10 dollars
but to be fair boxed games used to cost the same as EVE subscription if corrected by inflation
that said is still a better deal
I have the original boxes. Worth a bit now. Actually the original price was $49. Which allowing for inflation would be around $90 today ! So in fact games were more expensive then than now.
Lucas…you would not know what reality was if it fell from space and made a 200 mile wide crater with you at the centre. Your delusional posts are just tiresome. I do not care what you think…as I very much doubt thinking is something you ever do.
you know what i don’t want to talk about prices

The trend is for laptops and PCs to not even have a CD player any more. I originally didn’t like the idea of not actually owning a physical copy of a game…but I’ve got used to Steam over the years. Plus, being the cheapskate that I am, I wait several years ( and for sales ). I haven’t paid more than £10 for a game for years. I paid £2.49 for Fallout - New Vegas…£2.32 for the Half Life Orange Box ( with episodes 1 and 2 ) and even just £6 for the Skyrim : Game Of The Year special edition.
yeah
at the time i was not fine with the steam thing
but nowadays i love it
super decent service and very south American friendly
So… you’ve seen the “original” posts from before the person you’re talking about got involved, where that person was involved already in spite of the original posts happening for about 2 months before they were involved? And you think YOUR claim is even as believable as the one you’re dismissing? Maybe you should, just maybe, actually do what I suggested and look at the ACTUAL original posts. From when there were literally dozens of people reporting issues being caused by Steam, with most of those issues having clear and verifiable causes which are common known triggers for the conditions in question. All of which problems, it’s worth noting, are still verifiably present in the Steam client if you know what to look for and open it up today.
As for how someone would get double-blind testing done… when you live in a country with free universal healthcare, and in spite of there being no need to do so, your parents pay for mediccal insurance and private doctors for themselves and their family, you can get a lot of strange ideas looked at with greater care than you’d normally expect. Of course, doctors are still subject to malpractice charges or defamation if they make verifiably false claims, so unless the evidence really does point in that direction, they won’t claim it does even if they think it’s what their paying customer wants to hear.
And in this instance, the “claim” was being approached with disbelief by the person presenting it to the doctors. He went in not believing the less extreme claims that other people were making, and was as surprised by the results he got as you are by him being willing to restate what those results are. Except he had evidence backing it up to convince him it was real, and I happen to be in a position where I saw it as well. I wouldn’t believe it without the proof I’ve seen, and I think you not believing it is entirely reasonable. Doesn’t mean it’s reasonable or appropriate to try and pretend the OTHER people with far less extreme claims don’t exist. That’s just willful ignorance on your part, particularly when it was directly and unambiguously stated as something you should look at and you still pointed back at the place you were advised to stop fixating on as your only source. Because yeah, while I’ve seen valid reason to take that story seriously, even though it sounds nuts, you don’t have that option available so dismissing THAT person as a crackpot is fine. But that doesn’t negate the existence of plenty of people with arguments you can’t cast aside as easily, whose problems are still verifiably the same as they were 3 years ago, or worse.
I have been flying in search of a fight for more than one day
people say that they search for days for a a fight
and yet me and other fw players continue to prove that there is plenty of fights any time you want
btw yesterday i logged in a supposed super dead time , not even world of thanks blitz had people playing ATM it was like 4am here or something , and i got my fix of fights as always
have a cool video that i just watched with NEW SHIPS YAYYYYYYYY
You seem to care a lot what I think. In fact you seem to care a lot what everyone posts on the internet, hence you having a go at epileptics for having seizures.
Nah, you’re just a nasty little troll who deliberately likes to mis-represent what people have said.
Taken together, this gives an extremely negative effect on the game, while, in my opinion, the “root of evil” is the mechanics of the game
No, the root of evil is greed.
As much as I think both of you troll quite a bit, if I had to pick only one who’s allowed the title…
…actually nvm I can’t pick you’re both wonderful at it. Carry on! o7
The root of evil is ccp’s constant underdelivering.
Like “join FW unlock cool new ships”
“Cool new ships”: reskinned navy friggit and BC
I lost my old Steam account, my new account has only 16 years… i think the old had 18
The problem is not getting a fight, getting a fight is easy, getting an interesting fight, that’s the difficulty.
Frigate fights are concept fights, I’m not interested, little depends on the pilot, if you have the right setup for a specific opponent, then you win.
Today’s example of PVP on the Asakai system is a high traffic lowsec system.
From my side, Golem + Vargur (invisible) are located in the DED 5/10 complex at a distance from the gate and not a combat scanner for observation.
On the prime time server, it took an hour and a half to wait …
I was seen by local strong PVP players with “green” CB, 90% danger and 98% teamwork.
They gathered for about 15 minutes. They put up 100mn Loki, Nightmare, Jaguar, Lachesis, Nighthawk, Svipul.
Not bad selection of ships against one Golem.
The jaguar put a point and died under the golem in 10 seconds, Loki immediately put a point, and went to the optimal dose of fire Nightmare. At this time, all enemy ships flew into the grid.
A torpedo golem, even with infused boosters, cannot pierce Nightmar (3 billion fit in CB) and Loki.
Vargur appears. I’m presenting the discord shout “Oh ■■■■”. We choose a Primary Nightmar, after receiving significant damage to the shield, it goes to a distance of 80+ km. Switching to locks, he tries to leave, but 100mn greatly impairs maneuverability, 1.4 billion loks fell.
The rest of the fleet disperses.
After 45 minutes of trolling in the chat, they arrive in the same composition + 2 Basilisks, AShB Vargur and Magus. Loki places a point.
This is a claim for success (no). MJD turn on. Gf in local chat.
Why am I writing this? The answer is simple, it clearly shows how PVP works on ships larger than a cruiser, respectively, on such ships it is possible to fight with several opponents, there is an influence of piloting skills.
I see that there is such a situation that you meet only people who are not ready to take risks. You will not meet teams of 3-5 pilots ready to fight. I’ve seen loners (usually with 1-2 alts) attacking a target obviously not in their league. Having experience of solo flights, I can say that it is desperation when you fly for hours and do not see possible targets, or cowardly crabs or Ganges.
My whole post about not having playgroups of 3-5 people in the game, this is the most common format for playing cooperative games. It is easy to interact with such groups, and you understand that they have limited resources. And they understand that they will not be destroyed by a gang. This gives frequent encounters in PvP.
Now there is no such possibility. I attribute this to the fact that a small team cannot withstand systematic drops and ganks. (if you think that 5 people are 5 pimped marauders, then this is not so). It’s hard to live in a place where 10 blackops are sent to you. Or, as I described, the only thing that saved me was that they originally hunted PVE Marauders, and not 2 PVP.
Sounds like a fun fight?
Also it isn’t our fault you’re bad at making friends and can’t find people to fly with.
Tho from these posts, it isn’t hard to see why
buy a nightmare
go have epic fights
good luck
i don’t like you
Marauders are better. I don’t have to please everyone. If you don’t like me, that’s your problem, not mine
I see that there is such a situation that you meet only people who are not ready to take risks.
Which is the exact reason you’re flying the ship, would space be full of Golem killers you’d never fly one. You’re counting on the fact that most small gangs aren’t capable of dealing with a Golem.
That is isn’t somehow “an interesting fight”, if it would be actually interesting you’d not risk it. What it actually IS is:
if you have the right setup for a specific opponent, then you win.
You can try and pretend all you want.
If you don’t like me, that’s your problem, not mine
actually i never saw your marauder play style
looking at your zkill i found it somewhat interesting , all the blinged ships and stuff
anyway i will not pretend i understand a thing about golem PVP
i just disliked your generalizations about small ship combat
I’m a big fan of FW
but its fine… no grudge
