its not a big deal its not like spirit skins are gonna be in high demand at any point anyway
now if we had a serpentis proteus skin then that would be a big deal
Ah, cheers. At least that explains where those came from then. That was confusing the hell out of me as I was still sat on 490pts and knew I hadnât claimed anything via the UI.
i do like that the event sites are more complex than the previous ones, but overall this event is really frustrating for newer players because the loot gets stolen very often. I kill rats till the boss spawns, which takes me up to 10min and then some prick in a tengo or gila comes in, kills the boss and takes all loot. I simply cant compete with the dps of their max skilled expensive faction cruisers ⌠They use augmented drones, T2 weapons and everything âŚ
That means 10mins of ratting for ZERO rewards, not even a low bounty.
I know, EVE is supposed to be a harsh universe bla bla bla, but does i have to be so easy for the thieves? Why do you put all reward in a single rat that can be easily sniped? Split up the loot (mini bosses) so that thieves have to do at least a little bit of work. The player who does the grind should get the most rewards not the lazy players with no morals.
Your problem seems to stem from a common entitlement complex, you see among newer players. That site you warped to? Itâs not âyourâ site. No one owns it. That tengu that landed on you and defeated the loot spawn? well what you didnât see was him warping to a hundred other sites only to find a gnosis or ishtar on every single one. At what point do you just say to hell with these lower skill point beggars and take what is yours? That guy isnt a thief, he earned what is rightfully his and you are just a pleb in a beggar class ship, so stop acting like you are entitled to anything more than what you get.
How the â â â â am i a beggar? I do the sites from start to finish, which takes quite some time as a newbie and when i want a reward for that i am a beggar and the guy in the tengu, who just warped in and kills the last rat is the rightful owner of the reward? What kind of degenerated logic is that?
He is right though that part of the design of the site is a race to see who gets the reward first, with the further window for player interaction that it can be stolen. Part of Eve is that nothing is yours until you get it back to station, and there are other ways, some nefarious, to gain power and resources.
That said, your feedback that these sites put lower SP pilots at a disadvantage is perfectly valid. The last event didnât so much, so I donât see this is a major problem as long as CCP keeps rotating the difficulty of them so everyone gets a turn with an appropriate level of challenge.
Like a boss. Yea âŚ
If these people are such bosses and tough guys, why are using their high SP characters to compete with newbies in highsec instead of doing the more lucrative gala sites in low and nullsec?
If they are such tough bosses, they shouldnt be afraid of PvP, right?
Great contradiction within a single post there. Whatâs yours if another player canât claim anything? You are right that the boss isnât his, but it is no more yours. You only get ownership once itâs a wreck.
The point made by @Gemma_Skord is a fair one: The current setup does not reward the work done to kill all the NPCs leading to the boss at all, and the boss gets a reward commensurate with the work required not just to kill it, but to kill it and all the previous ships. This means warping in as late as possible just to kill the boss is actually the best strategy for the event (in terms of reward/time, if not ethically).
A mechanic like in resource wars, where completing a site rewards every player equally would complement the current competitive âBoss holds all the good stuffâ well, making killing all the ships leading up to the boss feel like it was somewhat worth it instead of being left with nothing, without enabling the endless bounty farming that @CCP_Dragon wanted to avoid by not putting bounties on the smaller ships. In the context of a game where everyone should have fun, making the sites âThe best reward for the one who loots the boss and a token for participation to everyone elseâ would be better than âeverything to the one who loots the boss and nothing for everyone elseâ. It still encourages competition, but the losers still feel a bit good about playing the game, instead of frustrated.
A resource wars like reward would also make running the sites as a fleet a slightly better proposition (half the time, bit more than half the reward), which is always nice since this is an MMO and playing together should be a good thing along with playing against each other.
One could argue that progress in the Agency is reward enough for completing a site by spawning the boss and having someone else kill it though, IF you do get progress on the Gala Guardians thing even when someone else kills the bossâŚ
Calm down beggar. âŚokay couldnât resist. But joke asideâŚ
Calm down newbro. No need for name calling and though I understand your frustration and have sympathy for your situation I still do not agree with it because this is exactly what EVE is about, yes it is not fair and never meant to be, you can feel it is cruel too, which it is if you look at it that way, but the reality is that you own nothing until you bring it to the safety of a station (and even then it may be in danger if that âstationâ is a player owned citadel).
Yes competition means someone with a bigger stick or on a fast horse can come and take your stuff and you may have zero chance preventing it, but that is part of the deal. This can feel harsh for a new player but you can either do the same (try stealing in a cheap ship) or grow before you can properly compete.
Prior event sites were much easier and more rookie friendly, this one isnât. Feedback is always welcome and some smack talk / âfriendlyâ competitive banter is also okay (in my opinion as long as it is in good taste and no actual harm intended) but no need to get personal over a game and start hating others who disagree with you and play the game as intended.
Donât get confused kid, running the site like a boss only means running it at maximum efficiency in the smallest window of time. My guess however, is that most skilled pilots in fact arent afraid to blow your ship up. Just challenge that tengu pilot to a duel the next time you see him, or try to steal his wreck. Youâll learn. In fact, that is probably half the reason they are contesting you in the first place.
Have you considered just messaging the gila/tengu and asking nicely.
Especially if you are only after the booster.
A simple polite ask if they can leave you the booster will yield results. Iâve offered in local to share the liot in several sites Iâve contested only to have them warp off without a word so Iâve shrugged and just kept it all.
People will often be decent if you are polite. Obviously if itâs am advanced booster theyâll snag it but they could leave you a regular in return even then.
Take your toxic Pee Pee posturing and mocking somewhere else. Both posters made valid points and presented issues with possible solutions for the event sites, much like most everyone else has done.
You can play the game all kinds of ways. I find plenty of folks out there who will respect âI was here firstâ and move along, since these sites are hardly scarce resources. If someone wants to steal my loot, fine, again - plenty of sites and a decent respawn rate. âActually fightingâ someone who is willing to go suspect in front of you is usually a bad bet, since theyâve evaluated their chances against your ship as soon as they entered the site. Nothing to get worked up over, in an environment where the loot decreases in value with each passing day.
E: âplenty of sitesâ if you are willing to travel, use the map to look for jumps in the last hour, and head to the next-nearest dead area.
Didnât say he started it, but no need to get to that level either just making the situation worse. He could have responded in a polite manner, showcasing superiority but he shown he can behave even worse or just as bad, depending on your judgement.
You implied he started it by telling him there was no need for name calling when in fact he didnât call anybody any names whatsoever. However Yuri Cerebi did it right from the start and continued posting with hostility and contempt towards others as well.
Perhaps stop projecting and imagining things that are not there because I didnât imply anything such. I told him to calm down, nothing more, nothing less.
If that is not name calling / being personal / trying to insult someone then not sure we have the same definition thus you either recognize it as such or we never will agree on the subject matter.
It is like saying âwhat kind of retarded logic is that?â, if to you it is a completely neutral way of expressing oneâs self that has no negativity towards the person that was replied to and in your opinion simply is just a way to label the otherâs method of reasoning and nothing else then surely there is nothing to talk about because if anything that is a clearly passive aggressive way of calling someone a âretardâ, or in case of the subject we talk about, a âdegenerateâ. You either see that or not.
As in my previous post that you replied to Iâve explained, another personâs behaviour does not warrant acting the same or similar (may it be slightly better or worse). Flag the trollâs post, show you are better and emerge as being the more civilized⌠or sink to the same depths, the choice is, as always, yours.
(Yours as in referring to everyone in general, not you specifically.)
Well, If you want to get into a long drawn out debate about this then thatâs fine but youâre misrepresenting and distorting the context of that statement as well as the actual order of events. For some reason you insist on placing the blame on Gemma Skord while completely overlooking the actual personal attack and insults first posted by Yuri Cerebi.
Telling someone they have an âentitlement complexâ and saying âyou are just a pleb in a beggar class shipâ followed by âyouâre a beggar because here you are on these forums beggingâ is not constructive negative feedback presented in a civil and factual manner.
Gemma Skord remained civil despite all of the demeaning remarks posted by Yuri Cerebi who then also directed hostility towards Erethond starting with âJesus who invited the mock trial debate team to the gala thread?â and ended it with âDo I need to break it down any further for you junior?â
And yeah, I said âtake your toxic Pee Pee posturing and mocking somewhere elseâ because thatâs what he was doing.
Anyway, you obviously found it comical and accused Gemma Skord for something he didnât do. The fact that you now say it pertained to a generalized statement he made after I brought it to your attention really says a lot. You can disagree and contradict me all you want.
I will agree with your statement that âanother personâs behavior does not warrant acting the same or similar (may it be slightly better or worse).â and âFlagging is definitely the best response.â
