Heralding the Announcement of a "No Limits" Friendship

By itself, isk destroyed is meaningless.

As you have discovered, it is easy to generate isk destroyed, merely by shooting structures. However, when there are dozens (or hundreds) of other people involved, it is likely the killmail would have been generated even if you never existed. Therefore, to ensure the ranking system accurately reflects your role, zkillboard uses two additional metrics: total kills and points. This minimizes your ‘accomplishment’, as you are expected to do more than merely tag along with a blob.

Let’s look at Destiny’s killboard:

Note the 23000+ points assigned to Destiny. These points were awarded, because Destiny has managed to generate killmails solo, without relying upon dozens of Blackflag Leshaks. Indeed, it takes far more skill to fight solo, and it is perplexing that you fail to realize something so obvious. Perhaps you don’t understand, because you have literally zero solo killmails. I would urge you to leave your carebear alliance, and try to generate some killmails without relying upon a large alliance to feed you.

To be clear, 23000 points is more impressive than 300b isk destroyed.

Oh no, hun, I’m sorry. You only have 313 points, not 225000. That latter number is referring to the number of players who have more points than you, and I think we can all agree that when a quarter million people are ranked higher, you probably don’t need to brag so much (because that would be a little bit embarrassing).

Picking off wardecced people with a Broadsword as they leave Ammar is difficult ? I mean its not like one even has to rush because Concord or the faction police might show up. It’s basically risk-free ganking. Proteus Vs Tayra…with no Concord and no time limit…pretty much a foregone conclusion.

Add to that the fact that Pandemic Horde have 35,000 members…and there’s vastly more opportunity to blap their members than there is for AO9 vs most of the smaller corps we do battle with.

Have you ever done it?

It’s definitely more difficult than tagging along with the Absolute Trash fleet, which is itself tagging along behind a Blackflag fleet. At least Destiny is getting killmails without hiding inside of a blob.

Expect a visit from their friends

She has 1000 times more members to come across than most of the corps AO deals with. So there’s far more chance of some ending up in the crosshairs at Ammar. It’s not worth my time to go hunting round for the few members of some 70 man corp than might be online. I have a ganker alt for that sort of activity.

That’s in 0.4 space. Destiny is attacking mainly wardecced people in 1.0 or 0.9 which makes Destiny herself less open to being ganked…while she can wait for some solo member of Pandemic Horde to show up and then has all the time in the world to blap them. Its certainly a clever strategy, and picking a fight against the large alliances maximizes the chance of prey…but nothing about it looks particularly difficult to me.

PH can get her Broadsword if they want with bait. But they got better things to do than avenge a stupid freighter pilot.

…but you haven’t tried…

Meh. I have 9 characters. I’ve even fought Blackflag on one occasion, in my spy account. I get up to a good deal more than gets mentioned here. Maybe Altara is just a distraction

Who won?

That sounds like an interesting story that you could write about instead of revisiting the ol’ faithful about that one time you carried half a dozen +3 implants through Uedama in a Gnosis, and against all odds managed to not get ganked by the hungry wolves eyeing up your prized cargo. That’s kind of the point. :kissing_heart:

Multiple times. Too many to count. And Amarr too, right under your nose.

Ditto.

Have you guys thought about war deccing PH? Or Frat? Or Goons? There has to be at least one of those groups you guys can fight. And you know they’re right, don’t you? Points are what are impressive. I have a small number of kills, and almost the same number of points because they are mostly F1 or gatecamp kills, not at all impressive. Once you start hitting 20,000 or so you are really doing stuff. I’m actually most impressed with guys who have like 1,000 kills and 900 losses. Shows they are really out there solo mixing it up. Trading better than 1:1 for a real solo pvp pilot is pretty impressive.

It was a deliberate suicide mission with lots of solo pilots…for various reasons.

Not many 1v1s are actually 1v1s. Only a dingbat fights fair. Me, I fight dirty.

AO9 is specifically a highsec group. There are other groups within AO that do lowsec and null. I am training up a char to join one of those…but it is taking time. I also have a char in AO’s ganker group AO10. I have every intention of getting involved in all sectors of PvP…in fact am just deciding which of my Alphas to convert to another Omega so I can do multiboxing.
