Not if they credit card warriors

I sent 150 Bil to the Hawk crew for their Orcageddon crusade and i have to admit that, considering the isk/fun ratio, it was my best investment ever. We must rid our asteroid fields of all those insufferable bots.

If you’re set on going out to mine with an Orca/Hulk combo you have to accept that if you spot danger you’ll have at most a good 3,5 minutes to get out of dodge depending on your skills, fit and how lucky you are with when your core started another cycle.

The keyword here being ‘spot’. If you spot the danger only when a ganker shows up in local with you. You got to be really lucky to get out in time. If you could somehow spot them prior to them showing up in your system it increases the likelihood of getting out in time.

You could also further hamper a gankers ability to apply damage by spawning CONCORD in the belt you mine yourself. With them on grid they are faster. And if you notice them being drawn out it could also function as an early warning to an imminent gank attempt.

Best thing is to cooperate with others, share intel on the enemy movements and adapt accordingly.

If a system becomes to ‘hot’ switch to a Porpoise instead. Or mine in a Venture.

Inexperience is a good excuse to fall victim to a gank. Learn and move on. However, often its stubborn greed that holds miners back to adapt. So they remain gank fodder for those willing and able to capitalise on that.

But overal. Cooperation with others is the best solution.

When in station you’d see a large “Undock” button.

DO NOT PRESS IT

But in all seriousness you do not prevent ganking. If people want you dead you will be murdered, you just make it as difficult as possible so not worth the trouble.
Such as

  • Do not mine in systems on major spacelanes between hubs
  • Every 5 jumps from Jita reduce the probability of your death by half
  • Do not mine anywhere in The Forge
  • Fit as much tank as possible
  • Mining moons makes it (slightly) more annoying to jump on you
  • DO NOT MINE IN THE FORGE
  • Isolated highsec pockets are slightly safer from ganking as it is a logistical nightmare to haul large quantities of ships there
  • Gankers are less active in more desolate regions such as Devoid, Khanid, Molden Heath
  • Have some robust intel, cooperate with others to warn each other, and use maps and zkill to spot any ganking activity, avoid places where ganking is particularly widespead

That is some of the lowest quality bait every. Are you a poorly scripted bot?.

Attempt to mine in Jita, in spite of no belts. Got it. o7

Thanks for the advice! Off to see a fireworks show now (not really, it’s insanely late and I should be asleep like 6 hours ago… also I don’t even have an Orca)

How quaint. Gankers and broader don’t deserve to be in the same sentence.

You nailed it again!

And?

Ganking is a perfectly legitimate game style

As is mining. And the risk that it comes with

It’s not about a learning ship although it’s great for that. You pick a ship for it’s role, we can spend about 2 mill on these ships and they do the job, so why use say a faction frig that cost 25 mill and you get no more advantage.

I do find it funny that people criticise us for using a cheap effective ship, when the very people we fight use the cheapest ship possible too.

A group of skill pilots positioned on a gate would stop a can’t fleet ever getting to an orca or would reduce it’s effectiveness to kill said ship.

We don’t care about kb stats our aim is to stop criminals and if that means using npc police to make the kill why we hold them then that’s what we do

And as for Destiny to criticise our killboard, well she’s a merc war decer that uses blink ships to kill haulers. Remember KB are everything to a merc

And the only thing about hawk that he proves is his ability to spend money on griefing Orca, for a flimsy pointless reason, that’s a skill I don’t wish to have.

Ps to everyone if your ever fighting gankers, kill the pods, they sometimes forget to change into an empty one when
ganking, you end up with a very bling pod indeed. Some groups never have implants others do.

Put a Higgs Rig/WMD practice putting down bookmarks and always be heading to them. put a web on a hulk or use web drones to increase the turn rate BUT most of all…watch local chat for spikes and use D-scan. remember you can setup “pvp” in fleet so you can web without issues or duel the orca w/e works for you.

So if I’m basically doing the same thing that gankers do, how come you’re not protecting them from me?

One more trick would be to have a pilot in a cheap frig setup for e-war burst, now you may take a small security hit but it could save an orca, we have saved freighters and mining ships this way many times.

In fact if any miner wants cover for their orca and we are available id be happy to help, just mail me in game with title Ew burst.

That makes absolutely no sense. There’s no practical difference between paying a 100 million ISK fee and then shooting some haulers, or spending 100 million ISK on some Catalysts and then shooting some haulers, and maybe purchasing some clone soldier tags afterwards. In both cases, the haulers are being shot without their consent.

It sounds like you’re cherry-picking your battles while trying to pretend to be cops. If you were concerned for players becoming the targets of “grief,” you’d go after the two types of attackers equally.

That really doesn’t make any sense. (oh okay, Destiny already wrote the same  )

Did you mean that, unlike gankers, you cannot legally attack her?
