I’mma go with webble over wubble and the others.
Ah, excellent, didn’t see this before I posted it. Strong agree on webble over wubble for this exact reason. And because… well, web. Web’s right in there, and that’s what it does.
Yeah, but DPS is a dime-a-dozen. It’s literally the thing everyone can do if they can’t do anything else. So any other capabilities bring more value than just ‘dps’.
I’m not sure. I think the problem you’ll run into is when the FC calls for ‘webbles’, people will think he’s calling for ‘webbers’ and bring single-target webs, or the single target webs will be the guys who go after the called target. ‘Wubbles’ has a very distinct difference in the lack of an opening plosive consonant, so it’ll lead to better uptake and clearer tactical instruction.
Just out of pure tradition, I was going to point the numerous reasons of why this is one more terrible update… but then I found none.
In fact it is… good?!
Congrats.
But the heretic isn’t an lml ship… It’s a rocket ship…
And you sir, are a classic rendition of a douche crossbred with an imbecile.
- Range can totally be considered application (though Steve did kinda mess that one up I’ll give you that. Easy misake though)
- What does range matter when you’re fighting within a small ass bubble and burning to scram stuff ?
- The Heretic is fitted with rockets anyways
Aaah the sweet smell of salt and mediocrity in the morning…
And this is why you aren’t getting the ones you want. Because you disregard all the communication they do do because you don’t agree.
Eh… IMO nullification is interesting, and has a pretty good tradeoff.
While I agree the combat ceptors were shafted out of their niche roles entirely, I don’t agree that fleet ceptors should be nerfed for it - at least not nerfed out of their nullification. Maybe nerfing them out of damage or even tank ? But they seem in a relatively good place in their intended role, giving them a nerf pass might break that.
I think this change basically gives combat ceptors more assurance to get out unscathed of any bubble they meet by overheating out/through, then resuming normal activities - ergo shoot stuff dead. While I doubt this will make combat ceptor roams a thing again, because who trusts their whole gang with doing more than 3 commands at a time without messing up, amirite ? (<this is cynicism. Unfortunate reality, though)… Maybe it can work towards it, with more changes in the future to other ship classes.
Now, we just need a reason for everyone to start flying battlecruisers and battleships again. CCPweaaaaase ? I would be absolutely stoked both as a fat slugger lover and as a zoomy prick afficionado.
Edit : tiny brain ideas. How about changing nullification to be on-grid warps only ? Would kill 2 birds in one stone. Other idea : allowing combat inties to warp smaller minimum distances (say -3.33% per inty level, to a minimum of 100km, or 5% to 75km) ? Or, way simpler, give combat inties another phat boost to warp speed, going thematically with their new overheat prop mod bonus to alpha zoomboi status ?
Is not 10km range too little for wubbles? And are not they too weak with 30% web effect?
Damn you CCP, Flycatcher was perfectly fine, it was just not for fleets! Eris needed another mid slot to be a Hecate with bubbles. Don’t know what to do with Heretic.
CCP does not know how to play their game.
eve uni with <1k kills checking in thanks for the debunk snopes
It’s just Womble. Plural of Wombles.
as in Wombles of Wimbledon Common (are we. British people of a certain age now have a theme song stuck in their head. you’re welcome.)
In the heat of battle, someone shouting wubble/bubble can cause trouble as they sound similar.
There’s a reason five is skipped in a countdown to fire.
At least call it a webble, a slowubble or maybe a gumball, because it’s round and sticky.
All that wubble and bubble could be trouble, especially with multiple dictors on grid
thread needed a nerdy joke
Anywhooo, bubble before you wubble or there will be trouble.
“Did you said bubbled or wubbled?” - every interdictor pilot in near future

Ok while this has less tank than a standard Sabre, it’s actually faster and nimbler and has a smaller sig. The self rep is questionable, but I don’t think the buffed Eris is as terrible as it was. I also think I’d rather have the 4 lows to play with than 3 mids.
Might be a good time to mirror the database.
Clearly, they already have a Hecate, they don’t feel like they need a T2 ship to be a T3 ship with extra abilities.
