I give up

Regarding the idea that a game this old should have documentation provided by the developers, I’m thinking of the Demon’s Souls/Dark Souls/Bloodborne series of games, which have been critically-acclaimed despite having pretty much no documentation and barely more of a tutorial than EVE gets. The community does all the testing of mechanics and posts their findings and the PvE and PvP metas evolve therefrom.

Should be clear to everyone that you WILL explode and take losses in EVE from time to time.

Would you believe I died more to npcs than player in this game while trying to make isk through whatever missions, deds, plexing, incursions, wormhole ratting, mining mostly to disconnects and this over the course of quite a few years. The secret is experience if you quit on day one and don’t want to push yourself to learn and improve you got no place in this game.

I don’t think that frumpy pants here is going to respond to anything. They seem to just create topics but not engage with the greater community.

Its a quitting post by some player who doesnt fit into EVE and a slight rant at the same time.

From two options: ‘HTFU’ or ‘leave’, player did already choose ‘leave’. Lets respect that.

So what I’m getting from you is that a subscription game is now “pay to win”? Seriously?

Are you going to go on WoW and complain their level 50 free to play is bad because if you go into the PVP bigger boys who subscribe will win?

I sense a lack of street smarts.

I will say this for this for those reading that are frustrated and feeling like quitting.

Lowsec isnt a place for faint of heart. It’s a place for small gang pvp in all truth. Solo pvp, small roams are all day things that do happen everywhere hence the bump up in value of whats in lowsec systems.

If doing lowsec mining and or sites fly cheap and keep eyes on both local and dscan at all times when going in solo. Tbh my suggestion for getting actually ready for lowsec are these few suggestions.

One being go get into some cheap frigs and dressies. Fit them for pvp and go in guns blazing and dont leave till you die. Then repeat. This will give you understanding of pvp mechanics and capabilities. Also this will teach you not to get crazy like when you die. Eleminating fear is huge in game and will reduce the moments that you freeze and panic.

Another is to learn to scout out areas before hand. Many ways to do this. Zkills, dotlan, ect… Best way is to get in something cheap like shuttle and just fly around and make safe points. Learn the traffic. Ships, pilots, numbers during certain hours. This will lead to decisions being made wisely instead of going in blind and hoping it all works out.

Best thing i can say is dont go solo if mining. Go in a group with propper roles being filled. You can get procs with mids fitted for pvp. Those tank extremely well. Get a guy in a haul to grab goods and run them out saving time spent as time spent in lowsec is at a minimum most of the time. Have pvp support on stand bye either very close, in system, or sitting in watch. Pay your support and your chances of survival go up. Teamwork is something very important in game.

Last thing for lowsec running is this, dont get attached to what you bring in there. Go in with the expectations of you getting popped. If you do bring in something you dont want to loose then thats your fault as theres a clear warning on screan before you enter. Its like going into a pvp area on any other game and not wanting pvp. Doesnt look good.

But one very last thing. P2W is a joke and this is why. Many many many of us before alpha omega clones had to pay sub or not play. Not just that but do you think all things in game now should be free?

Think about that and this. If you was at work would you want to work for a business thats giving everything away free? It would mean no money to pay employees, ie you. Those that work on this game have bills to pay, mouths to feed and retirements to prepare for. Always think of this before wanting to complain about things in a game that now has a way for players not paying for the sub to still take part in.

I hope this helps at least a few out as i know most that feel like op wont get it but the few that can understand what im saying will find it easier to have fun in game is its a game and its about having fun.

OMFG, ■■■■ me sideways can you lot not tell a blatant troll (OP) when you see one.

You’re being incredibly pathetic. Please calm down and start thinking more clearly.

You went into a LOW SECURITY SYSTEM and are angry somebody dared to shoot you. Aside from some angry ramblings about pay to win (you can easily win as a free player if you’re any good) that is the only content in your post.

We don’t need people coming in here from ****holes games and talking bad about Eve. From now on, we’re going to only let people from smart, elite games come in. For example, Battlefield. It’s going to be TERRIFIC

stick to playing games offline then you wont cry so hard about pay to win especially when you have no idea what real pay to win is.

But what about difficulty levels where the AI cheats in single player games?! Even the AI is “paying to win” in the sense that poor OP is put at an unfair disadvantage over his opponent! :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

EVE is ‘play to win’ not ‘pay to win’

Winning EVE?

Can i win EVE?

in a way that is kind of amusing, especially since I know there are some games out there with adaptive AI systems that learn and imitate how players play. Then again the op would probably be upset at the old n64 classic goldeneye and playing against AI players who have the golden gun.

Or the in-game map - mine is set to show “ships destroyed in the last hour”, and I don’t even need to switch to desktop! Figuring out what a ship kill (or a dozen) means is a whole different thing, but when the numbers are high I reckon it’s best to not go there.
