I liked the old killboard which showed what you killed most. Pods… No survival…
Which I could understand if the person had 3bn in implants, but every single case where I’ve podded its just been an empty 10K ISK pod. And you only get the 0.7 faction status loss for NPC corps, not for player ones…and regardless of whether it is a 10K pod.
It seems to me this is a relic from when people lost skill points, and CCP never rebalanced things and considered how absurd it is that one can lose just 0.17 Concord security points for ganking a 1bn ISK ship yet lose 0.7 faction points for podding a 10K ISK pod.
The cost has nothing to do, its the simple act of podding a capsuleer “killing” that clone
No, because you don’t get any such penalty for podding an empty capsule from a player corp…which means it cannot simply be the act of podding a capsuleer. And as I keep saying, it is silly that factions place a 4 times larger penalty for podding an empty 10K ISK capsule than Concord do for ganking a 1bn hauler. ‘That’s just the way it is’ doesn’t alter my view that it is silly.
We were at war so no penalties.
Exactly, i think true piracey is a playstyle with appeal to a larger audience then most people think. If the game promotes space piracey let those who choose a pirates life do what there heart tells them to do without forcing them into an operational loss. As a single pilot i cant chew through a ship fast enough, before concord shows up insta pops me all the while the ship never budges and just sits there mining like nothing happened
Suspect hunting is another fun form of highsec PvP. No Concord, but you never know quite what fitting you are up against or whether the target is a deliberate baiter. And there is always the danger that once you have that 3 minute engagement timer the suspect will undock in something bigger. I can’t think of a better way of learning ship fittings as I have learned more about how to fit correctly in a month of suspect hunting than I did in 3 years of being an F1 monkey.
I’m had found that most gankers are rather frugal!
I agree it’s high time someone steps up and makes a corporation dedicated to mass producing catalysts, tech II blasters and void ammo with a monthly tith to Aiko funded in taxes. But who will man such an operation.
In code and safety we trust for a better tomorrow.
I’m not going to lie I didn’t think you’d be the one to suggest such a grandiose scheme
At least you’re throwing out the salad from your highchair.
It’s okay to pick and choose your targets as not everyone eats everything on their plate!
I mean right now I can push close to 8,000,000 tritanium, theoretically that’s about 100 catalysts every few days or so. Baby numbers I know but think about it destruction is great for industry if your the one not getting blown up of course. Theory craft with me, how many catalysts would it take to truly increase ganking productivity and how does that effect the market?
I know if my ship is heading to market, and someone else’s is too that if they get popped my Ore is worth more. But we need this on a bigger scale.
Could a whole fleet with compress dedicated to this be enough to deliver ganking on tap?
Frosty keeps getting sidetracked though if Princess wears yellow for us, she may receive shipments after shipment of catalysts!
/ Until then, frosty will be converting every bpc over to Eris as there is more profit there.
//note the other day there was zero on the hypernet.
Im only stamping out a hundred at a time, I feel like my numbers are still small. But it’s the thought that counts
I’ll be using a solo ganking Moa before long…its main function being to survive gate guns, sentry guns for long enough…as a solo Catalyst simply can’t do that. Just look at all those Ventures hanging about outside Jita, ripe for the picking. And being a self-confessed killboard whore with a large wad of Eve dosh…the 19m cost is irrelevant. I intend to shake up highsec by doing stuff nobody would expect. It’s precisely what Eve needs.
She is not one of your strumpets Frostpacker
Ventures have such low HP that you can blow them up by simply caughing in their general direction.
But, if cost is no objecive , and you want a laugh, kill ventures with the Apocalypse, the best mining ship for alpha clones.
It’s quite tempting sometimes…I mean I can just see the Venture miner thinking ’ that Apoc would never gank me ’ so it would be fun for the shock value. But I think one could give the same ’ that guy would never gank me ’ surprise in a much smaller ship.
