I'm qutting

I invite you to stay on topic and not use a strawman to make your point. Plenty of other people in this thread have managed it.

This thread made it to reddit, and OP is not unheard of.

Ah, Alessienne.
I had the pleasure of talking to him/her over a few months when I was in the same starter corp. Let me tell you, the amount of bad ideas/fits that Aless came up with back then was quite astonishing.

What wasn’t so amusing was that they were sharing and encouraging this with new characters, some of whom wouldn’t know any better. The mining Miasmos over a proc for example (dat ore capacity!!!1!). Or repeatedly returning to the same notorious low-sec deadend to mine that slightly better ore and ending up surprised and/or angry when the locals came out and blapped him.

Add in a paper-thin skin of someone who can take offence very easily out of something utterly innocuous, humorous or sarcastic… Well, lets just say I’m surprised he lasted this long, especially when I read his parting words.

The one thing I steeled myself against before installing EVE-O was the amount of grief I might run into from the general population. And yes, after a number of years playing this game I’ve run into my fair share of bell-ends, but I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting some really terrific people.

If it wasn’t for them, I’d have thrown in the towel long before now. People, whoever your favourite FC is or that one guy that makes everyone groan with his puns, treasure them. <3

Here’s hoping that the next game you try fits your playstyle, rather than you trying to ruin literally the only large-ish PVP sandbox that still exists because you think having yet another themepark MMO is more important than EVE’s playerbase being able to have fun.

You shouldn’t play eve if you get easily frustrated…
When I’m into creating and building stuff I code, I play music with my band, I film stuff, I draw.
But when I want to feel the struggle and the adrenaline of loosing something I play eve

It’s EVE online facebook group famous as well.

This early promo video was created to promote EvE. Long story short, a new player gets played for a fool and destroyed. The entire video is like a chronology of his months long path to revenge which culminates in harming thousands of players because of what just a few people did to him. The video creator may well think it is simple cause and effect. The effect of the video seems to promote exploring your darker self.

It is understandable that someone experiencing mostly hostile behavior would have a negative outlook. To them I say, the game is vast and you have not searched far enough.

Causality

EvE online also promoted esprit de corps and selflessness in this video promo. In this you see a Miner being assisted by a Lone Wolf PvP player.

Butterfly Effect

In my experience CCP encourages base and destructive behavior between everyone. It makes sense. Isk is life, the isk must flow. Destruction creates high volume rapid flow isk. CCP provides a convenient way to convert your money into isk so you can replenish your losses.

To thrive long term, you have to come to an understanding of this basic fact and turn it to your advantage.

In all fairness, CCP also provides a significant number of opportunities for free or relatively free isk as well. New player experience, Planetary Interaction, missions and events that drop saleable items to name a few examples.

I hope this helps you understand EvE a bit better.

If not and your still leaving, can I have your stuff?

Cheers

OK then, put me down for a “disagree”.

Player numbers if they are dropping I don’t see it in UTC+1. Logins are pretty much the same from when I used to log in over 10 years ago. The true answer is that numbers are dropping because there is a hell of a lot more choice out there for people who want to play online games. The difference is that EVE probably has by far the greatest number of continual returnees. I for one have stopped playing many, many times over the 13 years I’ve been playing but I keep coming back. I have played a lot of other games in that time but when I have left them I have never gone back.

A lot of vociferous people whine on when they leave citing that the game is “unfair” or that there are a lot of nasty players out there. Maybe they shouldn’t tiptoe outside of highsec until they know how to play the game properly. How to game the system. Play as if there is always a bad man just around the corner out to get you. If you assume that then you will probably be correct.

The OP blames antisocial dickheads but maybe it is he who is antisocial wanting to play the game solo. If he had chums scouting out the route then maybe he wouldn’t have been popped.

Call me one of the dickheads but I laugh every time I read one of these posts. CCP has no responsibility to make a game safe for people. The warnings are all around before you log in for the first time. It’s the wild west out there. You will get killed. You will lose a lot of stuff. But if you accept it is just a game you will also enjoy yourself like in no other game out there.

Also, no-one cares why you’re unsubbing Alessienne Ellecon.

“Quitting Posts” Are Permitted in the Out of Pod Experience Section, to which it has moved.

You Also state several things about EVE that is Aspires to have and create. That is EVE. It seems perhaps you did not come to this game for reasons most do.

It sucks to see you go, but perhaps in the future your view of the game will shift and instead of being the hunted, you can be the hunter.

Good luck in your journeys! ~ Buldath

I love how new, at least 4 years to present, toons think when they go industrialist that they are the only people in the game building ships or doing PI. I am sorry to say it but it has been done for many many years perfectly fine by many players not just you. If you can no adapt to the game then bye…

I dunno, I saw a review on Steam about EVE Online saying “It’s okay, I guess…”

OP Specific situation is funny, and that is the risk of flying in Low/null.

But, I must say…

If someone wants to relax in hi-sec and mine, it kind of sucks those days are gone…

I remember a long time ago you used to be able to just mine in HS and REALLY chill out/relax. Your heart rate would never raise high!

Now you have to be paranoid about Code. It’s lame. Just let hi-sec be relaxing.

As usual, you have nothing to add. I’m responding to someone responding to me. I notice you didn’t say anything to the poster who started the"derail" you’re complaining about…

No matter how old you get, nothing really changes, that much is obvious.

Entitled is an interesting word for someone that wants to go where the better rewards are and chooses to ignore the risk. The risk you previously stated you encountered before and did nothing to account for it. Now we learn you had a main and 2 alts and only used one pilot when moving your haul of loot.

Where is this kill mail ?

LEARN THEM LIVE BY THEM OR FIND ANOTHER GAME

PushX and haulers channel and other hauling companies would have taken your stuff to your place. And no, you don’t need to HTFU, but you do need to learn to play in the sandbox with others.

The culling of the weak continues in the best of battle royale tradition.

Go back to WoW.

I’d first like to start off by saying that this is simply not the game for you. I only recently heard of EVE, blasphemy I know, but I notice how it mirrors much of the actual world albeit in space. If you want to be an industry person then you are gonna simply have to find people to guard your ships. YOU are a merchant in a sense and merchants are always preyed upon by pirates/pretty much everyone else. And gate camping is a trick as old as time itself.

Welcome to online gaming. Seriously. Welcome. If you had done your homework you’d find that EVE is NOT PvE friendly but more PvP friendly. You want to be a merchant, you’re simply gonna have to shell out tons of money as I stated before for escorts for your shipments. Either that or find some friends who will escort them for free (not likely). Online games in general are hitting rough patches and have been off and on for years. Simply saying this game is toxic because players are utilizing it as it was meant to be doesnt mean the developers need to relook at their financial status, (they are not here to cater to you and what you want), but it does mean that you need to learn to roll with the punches more. Also please note that this game mirrors RL. In RL would you sail a cargo ship worth thousands or even millions without the guarantee of protection??? If you would, let me know I’ll hire a ship to come rob ya. (just joking but you get the point). Want to survive and make tons of money to be able to afford to be a merchant, then you need to start small. Personally I’ve found that games like this, you get further if you join a guild as a combat pilot and work your way up. Work your way up and the ISK will come flowing in and down the road you will be able to afford stuff like that. Til then, all I can say is suck it up.

Wrong game. You wanna pilot cool ships, gotta start small. Personally I think you would get much more enjoyment out of the X Series also purchasable on Steam. Save 50% on X3: Terran Conflict on Steam
Its a space combat/merchant/whatever the heck you wanna be simulator very very similiar to this game with as steep of a learning curve as this but you dont have to worry about some “antisocial types who take pleasure in shitting all over people who just want to make space bucks and fly cool ships.” It is much more PvE than PvP and can be played offline. So no need to worry about someone ruining your fun. But clearly this game is NOT for you. You could also try Elite Dangerous if you must have an MMO. But as I stated again the developers are here for the community as a whole, not personally to cater to you. You have got to learn how to roll with the punches and look at how to utilize what you have. Start small and work your way up. Would you run out today and jump right into a mega million dollar business empire? Nope. Gotta start small and know that thousands will be looking for ways to shut you down.

Thanks but nobody wants your stuff.
