Step 1: sign up for the PvP MMO famous for being dark and dangerous where you can lose anything anywhere and where loss is permanent, with the goal of mining and “crafting”
Step 2: fail repeatedly
Step 3: ragequit and blame the game for not being safe enough
Congratulations on winning EVE. Do your research next time.
He was in ls to avoid CODE. I crossed path with him in solitude once, i watched him wondering if he was the best bait ever or the dumbest miner. Now i know.
The nonsense in some of these replies is too much.
This is nonsense. Plenty of people do industry without having people guard their ships.
More nonsense. Plenty of people do plenty of PvE in this game, pretty much without issues. I’ve done hours upon hours of incursions, level 4 missions, mining, exploration, and whatever else, and never had so much as a scratch on my ship.
Again, nonsense.
Plenty of people in this game play to pilot cool ships, and don’t have any issues.
My bad. Forgot logic is lost on the less fortunate. You want to do industry, you’re gonna have to have a large supply of Raw Materials (RM), a place to construct them, and a place to sell the final product. This means shipments (large and small freighters all carrying extremely valuable cargo) which makes them extremely tempting targets for other players. IE you want to protect them. IE you need escorts for your more valuable shipments. Not all of them mind you as some are not worth protecting, but they dont know that. But if I knew you were shipping out a large shipment of expensive equipment and it was gonna be unescorted, you bet better bet your *** I am gonna attack that shipment. Hardly any risk for me but a ton of profit. YEAH!!! Welcome to the world of economics. OP seemed to think that she could simply go out, mine resources, haul them back to her construction area, produce them, haul them back out for selling and nobody was gonna do anything. Tons of profit with no risk. Doesnt work that way in any game I’ve ever played.
I merely pointed out that he was not an average carebear, if he was he would not have left hisec. That was the point I was making which you seem to have missed as in it went flying way over your head, as per normal. But you do try.
Are you a carebear? The man was out in lowsec, in some areas which are pretty damn dangerous, Arida for a start taking significant risk, it is all there on his killboard, he is not an average carebear.
They are nullbears not carebears as per the forum definitions.
I criticize the AFK part of AFK cloaking, I like them being ATK as in being able to bait the blighters, so am I an average carebear or is that nullbear for having an issue with the AFK part, for you I guess I am. The fun part is that in our main TZ we have ultimate superiority which means we crush anyone that tries it. I rather like it when people come to camp us, they don’t last long. So am I?
The OP is not an average carebear, simple as. Perhaps he is a lowbear…
And by the way you did not answer my carrier question, which is not a surprise, as a min/max player you would have taken that stupid risk of using sentries. and sitting still next to them, in other words not be aligned…that is stupid risk!
@Caldari_Citizen_537695236 Not what his killboard says mate, he tried various different fits to counter what was going after him, I would say that you are talking out of your ass.
@Mevatla_Vekraspek Well he avoided CODE on that basis, as someone who did lowsec mining for the fun aspect it was not profitable, but was a blast with people trying vainly to catch me. And the joy of decloaking a Falcon and moonwalking out on a couple was great, the salt at Falcons is always fun.
Has nothing to do with logic, you were just wrong with many of your assertions. There are plenty of people who do industry without ships to protect them. I do industry myself, and have never had ships protecting me.
Will you die and lose your stuffs? You most certainly can. It depends on what you are doing, what area of space you are rolling in, what kind of ship you are flying, what kind of bling your ship is carrying, whether you are scouting or not, whether you are taking known gank routes, whether luck is on your side, etc. etc. etc.
I’ve never been ganked while doing industry. Doesn’t mean it can’t happen. Doesn’t mean it won’t happen. But so far, it hasn’t happened yet. But I’ve been ganked doing many other things.
You mean the guy who was incorrectly stating the OP was an average carebear, which I said was not the case and then you jumped in on that and started going off on wild tangents about what I meant, all I said was that he was not a average carebear based on the fact that the average carebear does not leave hisec. Mr Epeen is spot on for calling you out on it.
Dear ISD,
the OP is likely biomassed already and this thread reached 256 posts, which is ridiculous. The worst of the worst are already starting to post in here, so why not just lock it … or alternatively make it a sticky, so all the shitters can post in one place.
Strange how the game flourished for the past 15 years, not in spite of non-consensual PVP but because of non-consentual PVP.
Just quit if you can‘t deal with the harsh reality of the game but don‘t lobby for the destruction of the very thing that makes the game worthwhile for most players (you know, the ones that have been playing for over a decade before you came here from WOW or Hello Kitty or whatever other kiddie-game that spoiled you and made you unable to deal with adversity by any other means then blaming anyone but yourself).
Don‘t let the door hit you on the way out. Your kind won‘t be missed.
I must be a prick than because you are one full 100% the problem and not the players who are enjoying the game how it was made and how it was meant to be played. So please, go away!
Had at least one other one, I think there was mention of 2 alts. So yeah, why no scout is beyond me.
But speaking as a fully proud, ‘Average Carebear’… I wouldn’t have the audacity nor courage to consistently mine in low sec with those kinds of losses. I lived low for a bit with an alliance forever ago, but I prefer my hisec in my own corp now. I also prefer people take responsibility for their actions or lack there of when it comes to EVE gameplay. There is always a way to improve without blaming others. The tears the OP sheds over this type of stuff is forum gold as far as I’m concerned.
Thanks, a scout obviously cannot pick up people who are cloaked, but it does tend to help. Also having a Falcon alt is gold…, pity he did not do that.
And it is good to hear you say that, the guy went for it, he was not a PvP’r as in shooting stuff but he was trying things, and doing avoidance which is fine. Mining in lowsec is high risk and when I did low sec mining I just dropped ships all over the place and would mine until someone started going after me then move to a completely different place, rinse and repeat.
Which gets me to this:
When you read what he said, he was more upset with the no lives who camp for hours and hours on end, and I have come across a few of them in my time, problem is that I am also one of them, so that I could stretch out my no life a lot more than they could. The thing is that Eve is a game where you have to bore you adversary or make him mad so he gives up. He did not realise that. instead getting mad and fed up himself. For example I would scout and then would just sit there cloaked up and make that other person wait hours. And if you want to play Eve in avoidance mode that is what you have to do. Most PvP players have the attention span of a gnat.
I think looking at his killboard he gave it a go and came up short, have a look at some of the fits and what killed him, I see BLOP’s dropping on him a few times. For me the guy had a damn good go at it and even though he failed and took risks I would not have done he played Eve by going for it outside of hisec.
Hisec is a sad place. The good news is that you can find an out of the way area and you can operate there without being bothered at all. I found exactly that in Kador.
o7 for giving him the respect for being persistent, I think it is a loss to Eve that he could not develop from this.
