Pathetic, that’s what you are. You complain the gift has a wrapping paper.
Wouldn’t call it gift, if it’s linked to non-trivial fulfillment conditions including a time limit. A login reward, this is, what it is.
So the place you are going during your “holiday season” is so remote and obscure that it is impossible to have an internet connection to be able to log on for a few seconds once a day? Is it even logging in since you probably don’t even need to leave the log in screen?
Well, the Frostline thing is most certainly not interesting to me,and I’m more than happy to see the return of the advent calendar style affair, so I don’t see a problem from my point of view.
Why is something for everyone a bad thing?
It’s a gift during the holiday season. You either take it or leave it, CCP is not “forcing” you.
Also :
These include all new Standings Boosters, Facial Augmentations, exclusive Icecloud Investigators and Chromodynamic Candy SKINs, thousands of Skill Points and more.
Those are cosmetics and faction boosters. The only real interesting things are free SP, which won’t be present everyday, so a player that don’t want to actively play the game can just take a look at what is said about today’s gift, and log in or not.
Also, I don’t see where CCP is forcing their players to come online. This event will be like the weekend where you had to log in to get free SP. You don’t even have to undock to get gifts, so all good for me.
CCP can only forcimg
Grrr they’re giving me the option to log in to get the thing I would not have gotten otherwise for just logging in grrr >:(
I hate free stuff bah humbug
But for real ccp ty I have always wanted to try injecting skills. Injecting was released way too late for me to take advantage!
You nailed it, it’s rewarding you for daily logins … and if you miss one or two out of 13 in 17 login days … bad luck, you get nothing of value.
Idk 11+13 is 24 and you have till 28th so that’s 4 days. Also good thing I have a computer so I can log on in five seconds each day. God that’s gonna be soooo hard…
It is a gift. Period. You can try to play semantic games to your hearts’s desire, it remains a gift and you remain a whiny entitled asshole.
I enjoy free stuff.
I just cancelled my Christmas holiday. Definitely gonna stay home and log in every day.
No one is forcing anyone to log in. I encourage the complainers to not log in and to show CCP that they can’t force you to…
You don’t need any of this stuff and will be no worse off than you are today. You don’t lose anything by not participating.
It’s completely optional. Want free stuff, log in. Feel like you are being forced, show them who is boss and don’t. You control your destiny.
It’s not a gift, it is a scam to get us to login to pad their numbers so they can impress their masters at Pearl Abyss.
We got some pretty weird people in here.
Every single online game I play has a Christmas gifting event. They all require you to log in to receive your gifts. Some of them you have to log in 14 out of 15 days… some there is a single 36-hour window to log in… some have a 45 day event in which you have to log in at least 25 of those days to receive the rewards. Others have combinations of the above.
EVE is doing nothing they haven’t done on Christmas for years now… except to give better stuff on a more flexible schedule. Previous years if you missed a day you got nothing for that day.
“Padding the numbers”? Seriously? They can run any event they like to get logins; they don’t need to give out free stuff.
Think for a second, before you start your whiney entitled “But the free giveaway is just so inconvenient” rants.
- They could do nothing for Christmas, and give away nothing.
- They could give a gift away only if you log in on Xmas day (just like real Santa).
- They could make you complete some in-game task to receive your gifts - which many games do.
- They could give you gifts only if you had a paid sub for the past 2 months, or only if you logged in at least 30 times in the past 3 months, whatever. This would entirely exclude people who didn’t do these things, but at least would stop the tinfoilers with their “its only numbers padding” BS.
Instead they gave you a flexible time frame where you can miss days and still get the rewards, they are telling you about it in advance so you at least have the option to check your schedule, and they are giving away some nice but not must-have, ‘you lose if you didn’t get one’ options. Plus, usually most of these items are tradeable and end up on the market anyway.
What the hell do you want? No gifts? Gifts that automatically drop into your inv? Gift codes packaged up and sent to your door by FedEx that you can redeem without logging in, or sell on E-bay?
Get real.
Since when are the Holidays about “YOU” anyway? This is a good opportunity to get your friends playing. Get others involved in this game that we all (or most of us) love.
Happy Holidays all! xD
Everyone who logged in when they wanted to break the record amount of playing players got a t-shirt in game back then, few years ago. Nobody complained. That number is to this day uncontested. If you care so much about not padding the numbers, dont log in. Simple.
Come on. You are too intelligent to spout nonsense like this.
Nonsense, really, tell me why we need two events?
The mulled xmas whine is back.
