Is Hisec ganking good for the game?

Well then, at least I know who I was being trolled by.

How do you know so much about ganking? Are you a ganker?

I’m more of a guy who dodges gankers. I make a habit of flying through systems that have gate camps, and finding ways to avoid them (and sometimes… sadly… failing. ;-( )

So I read about it. But no: I don't participate.

I also only play occasionally. Work too much overtime in RL. So I only learned about the changes to interceptors from May, yesterday. Because I started playing again. (Seems like they made my gamestyle too easy, tbh.)

If you want me to consider it a valid point, your ships need to at least cost more than my ammo.
Anyways, I just pointed people can find out by themselves. If you did you know how “difficult” it is compared with highsec ganking.

Who is your ‘main’ character? Or is that part of the ‘mystery’?

I actually… had only subbed my primary account this month.

If I see you in space, I will look forward to trying to bypass your gate camp. It’s the fun side of that game to me.

(If I ever become a criminal in RL, I will probably become a drug smuggler. But for now I have a video game that lets me get it out of my system.)

im a high sp char , well over 100 mill sp and im -10 . -10 is the only way to fly ,being pos sec is boring i know i have tried it and got bored .

why would i damage my -10 sec status by ratting lol, if i for some reason wanted pos sec id just buy some tags and boom im pos sec takes a few seconds no need to do boring pve stuff like ratting.

That’s true. I forgot you can’t go below -10. So if you’re already there, then you’ve nothing to lose.

At the same time, though, other players are free to attack you, so all systems are basically null sec for you (minus the bubbles, of course.)

The tags to go back to 0 or above will probably cost you more than a few Ventures, though.

yep fun

That’s the thing, anybody can attack him; but hardly anybody does.

Outside of someone attacking him the only thing he needs to worry about while hanging around is the Faction Police, they’re relatively easy to keep ahead of if you’re on the ball.

If you’re using a high SP character, there is also the fact that carebears will learn who you are, and won’t like you.

For a low SP character that you haven’t invested anything in, that wouldn’t matter. You can sign onto your main and nobody will know you ganked them yesterday.

(And in reality it probably doesn’t end up mattering a whole lot anyway, since most carebears don’t have stations in null or low that they can lock you out of.)

Even if every single one of them did, it wouldn’t matter. Highsec gankers don’t need docking rights in lowsec or nullsec structures.

It’s dumb that Concord doesn’t pod you. They should like, scram your pod and then send a prison ship or something to capture you.

Then your clone is sentenced to some number of years in prison (and promptly commits suicide in order to immediately escape.)

That would just make a lot more sense than letting your pod fly freely though areas that are normally off limits.

Also would have no affect. Ganker pods are empty and that just saves them having to fly back to station. It’s not like a pod costs anything. It’s just a free ride home.

To be honest, most carebears, even if they knew you ganked them, would probably still work with you if you invited them to do carebear stuff.

The not podding thing only bugs me in the “breaking fourth wall” kind of sense. It would make more sense to the story if they did it.

I like trying to pretend to explain things as part of the story. Like when rules change about ships, I’ll try to come up with a plausible explanation. The 15 minute limit on cloaking is (in my head) because ship sensors are getting better, and can only be fooled for 15 minutes!!! Or something like that.

It’s dumb that you want an NPC bot to protect you.

I can achieve 100% perfect protection, just by not playing the game in the first place.

The existence of High, Low, Null, Wormhole, (and now Pochven) is to give players choices.

The reason there is no perfect safety in game is because every playstyle should have challenges.

EVERY playstyle.

If ganking has no challenges, why aren’t you ganking?

You finally asked me the right question!!!

Why? Because it would be boring!!!

Scipio keeps pointing out how low the risk is, and how little challenge hi sec ganking offers. He’s basically making my point for me.

You guys hate carebears because you are carebears.

So you don’t want free isk just raining down from the sky?

Why not just gank a couple blingy marauders or a half dozen jump freighters and call it a day?

Or are you just not actually able to do it?
