Left because of wardec

The War Dec system as it stands now is pretty terrible and for the attacker, flies in the face of EvE’s mantra of Risk vs. Reward since the overwhelming majority of those are declared against corps that have no reasonable means of defending themselves. They’re used to grief, troll, or otherwise make the game very unfun for new players and small corporations.

It’s a small wonder why this game has such a hard time retaining new players (which it needs desperately at this point) due the allowance of corps without any real appetite for true PvP to wardec miners and industrialists infinitely. This whole thing needs to change.

Look HiSec is already dangerous enough without the constant stupidity of WarDecs with suicide gankers (who at least risk something in their endeavors). Getting rid of wardecs or at least making it very unattractive to be used to bully the smaller corporations/new players would be the right step in retaining players and rebuilding a healthier community.

Nothing easier than to avoid wars

Feels like you never thought about it in the past

The typical war avoidance strategies only highlight how broken the wardec system actually is. They are not solutions, just workarounds to slip an otherwise population decimating system.

So what’s your solution other than completely remove a valid gamestyle

Limitations. Only allow corps that consent to a war dec fight it out. This is allows two corps with a real appetite for true PvP to duke it out with real risk.

Constantly declaring war against small corps of miners and industrialist I argue is not valid gameplay; it is cowardice.

That goes against the base principles of EVE lol

Everyone dies as a noob, and when you die you either love the game or fail to understand the game and want it changed like a WoW baby.

So you’d rather see the outflow of players eclipse the influx of new players? There are reasons that this game has dwindled to 25k average players and this is one of them.

War Decs are already contrary to another rone of Eve’s major Pinciples; Risk vs. Reward. Why should corps of “elite pvp” wardec miners for no risk?

Consent cant be a requirement. It just cant.
The current system equals that anyways, as a Corp that does not consent, opts out with NPC Corps or re-forming the Corp in a new name.

As to limitations, I made an extensive suggestion I thought was feasible, but forgot to bookmark it.

Where’s your source for that?
Numbers have been that low since the isboxer broadcasting imput changes

No, mercs risk billions of isk to kill only millions
Anyone can gang up on them but won’t because they look invincible

Fact is most mercs are pretty terrible players and are super easy to bait and kill :joy:

Take a look at the login screen every time you login. The numbers are never very high.

I can say you didn’t know the time where skilled players hunted all over the place

It’s safe to say you would have quit back then lol

Well, I’ve been playing off and on since 2006 but that’s irrelevant to the issue

Again, not a solution or even any kind of rebuttal to why wardecs are a bad thing. I get it, you want to continue to get free kills from industrialist and small corps who can’t really fight back. It doesn’t matter to you if the game suffers as a result. It’s far better to look at the big picture; keep newer players sticking around.

Tell them this:

Options:
-Fight back.
-Negotiate.
-Hire/arrange escorts.
-Join alliance.
-Go NPC for logistics.
-Reform Corp as a new one.
-Move Corp elsewhere.

This character, my main and my first, has never, ever been wardecced, cos it never even left the starter Corp. Doesnt need to. Idgaf I lose on tax, its worth it for the wardec immunity. My activities on this character are not based on isk, but on loot, which is not taxed.

I handle everything else through cover Corps, NPC Corp characters, contracts, flying smart etc.

You don’t
You assume like Salvos

I prefer people who fight back
I prefer being outnumbered on the field

I can’t force people to fight, but when they do and the engagement is over I usually give them tips to get even better

Perseverance is a better attribute than the laziness a majority of HS citizens suffer of

If any of that were really true, you wouldn’t care if War Decs were restricted to remain very unattractive to declare one against small/newer player corps in some reasonable way. None of Savlos suggestions are very feasible for new players for a number of obvious reasons either.

Yeah, you’re right.

All of them are feasible.

Anyways, a new player should not be forming Corps to get wardecced in yet anyways.

Join an existing Corp that knows what they are doing, preferably one with alliance support.

The best way to get new players interested is that there’s a whole world outside of mining

That includes shooting them, giving them advice, better groups to go to

It’s been proven that newbros dying makes them stay more than the opposite…
