Legion Expansion

Fitting a ship in 2003 was an entirely different experience  :rocket:

a tenth of the ships, half the modules, and none of the rigs?

And what might be the reason for this? could it be because the game has lost that spark that made it great in the first place so we are hunting for it elsewhere?

As someone who deals with the general public on a near daily basis, they very much have a lower attention span and less ability to do critically important things like READ and deductive reasoning

So the golem? because edencom don’t use missiles and adding a second shield tanked missile spammer seems like its not really filling a niche

As someone who has been here since 2003, a lot of what has changed has definitely been to appease the people who would rather EVE basically be WoW in space, why do you think we lost the freeform contract option, all the ingame popups and warnings for things like buying an item at a vastly different price than previous etc

All these things were done in order to make it so that people who were less willing to pay proper attention to things could “enjoy” the game, don’t get me wrong some seriously dumb things were made easier, anyone else here remember the original probe scanning system? yeah that was definitely in need of a revamp, but for the most part, the changes are aimed at making it so people don’t have to pay as much attention, we basically added warning labels to too many things

We also had more options, the great nano nerf ruined some gameplay styles, dual prop mod fits were basically removed, there was a lot of ingenuity with certain fits back in the day, now most ships basically have 1 optimal fit and that fit is pretty much obvious from the get go, there is no real creativity anymore

And what is the first thing they do? They turn the warning notifications off, then whine whenever the thing happens that they were warned about. Genius. Pure genius…

Sadly stupidity has no legal cure, although it does lead to absolutely hilarious killmails that we all get to point and laugh at

Yeah, good thing I already have at least the Leshak part of the build process… Already have the modules I’ll need.

I think they’ll need to fill-out the rest of the EDENCOM ship line (similar to Triglavian) first, ie: destroyer, battlecruiser, T2 variants, etc.

why edencom, who their ship line came after triglavian one, need to be fill up first ?

SoE, Mordu - but I don’t think we’ll see destroyers or battlecruisers added for those lines - let alone T2 variants.

Deathless could probably benefit from a frigate, destroyer or battleship at some point.

EDENCOM and CONCORD are similar to SoE and Mordu in that they’re a “light” Faction.

Because strictly speaking they have less ships, where is the edencom destroyer? the command destroyer? the logistics cruiser, the battlecruiser? etc

Isn’t EDENCOM more akin to CONCORD, SoE, etc? (which also only have 3 ships in their line)

Well EDENCOM was something formed by the backing of a number of factions iirc, so its more a group effort, so i would have expected each faction to have contributed differently which should have lead to a larger overall military backing, and i would have expected them to try to develop counters to specific threats

Well, we got 2 new subcaps in Revenant, 1 new subcap in Legion…

I don’t know what other subcaps they could add that there isn’t already a ship and role for. Any new ships would be either redundant or just for the “cool” factor. I mean we already have, what? 300 ships?

If they had asked you about ‘new ships’ before the Triglav/Edencoms were added, or the new Upwell ships, I expect your answer would have been the same.

TBH, you seem to be pretty down on just about any changes or additions to the game. Games need to keep moving forward or they just die of stagnation. Which is what already lost more than half of EVE’s player base.

My case in point exactly. The Upwell ships were added for the “cool” factor. We already had PI ships and haulers. The only thing they added was a piddly auto-targeting missile launcher that won’t save you.

I’m open to change, as long as it is ground that hasn’t already been covered. There are all sorts of things that could be added to EVE that haven’t been done before.

The Trig and EDENCOM ships were welcome changes, because they have weapon types and use tactics that hadn’t been seen up until that point. That’s what draws new players in and retains current players. Not adding more of the same ships that do something 1% slightly different.
