So you rat in something that needs both a CPU implant and a Capacitor Implant? Let alone any kind of neut effect?
Are we really using ‘AKF DRONE BOATS’ as a solution to 2019 eve’s problems?

That does seem a lot more sensible, its just too easy to boosh a blue fleet off the gate with a CD after a gate flash and a local red spike makes it obvious your 12 man gate camp is facing a 30 man roaming fleet otherwise.
10 years of mindless krabbing? Wow. You deleted most of your brain cells.
The level of dangerousness is always there, even in highsec.
but when most of your looses come from NPC then, highsec is more dangerous then nullsec.
Fly safe in your safe habitat
I’ll believe that when they actually turn up… (words are cheap, and easy)
Wormhole connections are extremely more likely to spawn in another wormhole. On top of that wormholers don’t just blindly blast out fleets into null because defense fleets would rip us to shreads so you guys have the benefit of whatever time it takes to scout you out. You guys only have to deal a couple times a day to a lesser degree and the rest of the time you have plenty of warning. Meanwhile we have no warning ever cause it’s not risky to barge into another wormhole system when it’s not high class.
If you think intel is perfect, then type “Rorqual” in Zkill. Plenty of whaling happening out there, and it’s not perfect safety.
Sitting in a Rorqual mining is sitting there hoping every minute of that 5 minute indy core cycle that some BB, or Brave, or Horde, or whoever fleet isn’t coming down the pipe or through a WH with enough DPS to kill you in 1 minute once your panic is done.
Depending on the hour of the day, you may not have a good cap umbrella to save you because people are logged. Some idiots mine while most of the alliance cap pilots are out on alpha, beta or cta fleets. You just shake your head looking at their killmails.
I cannot accept the game which is safe for enemy, but extremely risky for me. I’m not playing games to gamble against 1% odds of that killmail you’ve shown me, I want to keep at least 50:50 score, and against hotdrops, there’s no technique that will give you anything better than 1:99, which I find unacceptable.
In a single week we had like five of those drops during EUTZ and repelled three of them by being prepared. It isn’t fool proof and we will eventually die as well, but the amount of drops lowered significantly once we changed our modus operandi. In our case, this worked because we knew that the enemy was hunting in our area, we had intel up and proper activity in our space that kept trace of ingoing and outgoing traffic. As such, we knew he’d spring us and our fits were prepared for that by being PVP-based VNI’s.
“You are free target because you chose to be” argument, NOPE, it’s because of poor game mechanics that need to change.
That phrase is literally what CCP has actively promoted for years. Example: 8 Golden Rules for EVE Online - EVE New Citizens Q&A - EVE Online Forums.
I get that you may not agree with the concept, but that has been the game design philosophy for literally years.
none.
Did you ever try to hunt against competent targets yourself?
fight or flight instinct level spinal behavior. Hard!
Try to be an FC for a larger fleet with multiple roles, coordinating that with multiple other elements. Or to ensure that everyone follows the right approach to defeat your enemies (or die trying).
Difficulty is relative. Ganktarding is almost incomparably easier and can be done barely-conscious, not to mention semi-AFK.
Ganking a single player who has the mental acuity of a peanut is indeed easy. If you’re that player, that still is on you for not paying attention. We see it all the time in our intel channel where someone freaks out that they get killed, while 5 minutes prior there was a warning on intel that said “Hey hostiles near you”. Does that mean that PVP as a whole is easy?
I am all for putting my money against enemy money.
I am not putting $99 against $1, that’s what I’m again.
And it’s a 10/90 chance that the differences are that large. You don’t need to invest 500m in a ship to be effective, if you have good friends and learn to work together. Many people already bugger off if there’s no way to break your composition (i.e. drake+logi or other combinations).
I am. The best defense is dock up and wait, because other options are undock and get enemy running or undock and get yourself killed, which achieves the same reward as not undocking at best, and a loss at worst, which makes not undocking the most rewarding option.
Maybe if risk/reward is equalized for defenders and ganktards, we can actually play the game!
That isn’t defending your home. That is sticking your head into the sand like an ostrich pretending bad people aren’t out there. But good to know, I might chuck an alt your way for that hotdrop you like so much.
make sure to cloaky camp while local is up so he can’t undock…
Seriously some people in this thread need to quit eve and play WoW. Improve the IQ of both games for us.
I think that booshing is a fair counter to a tactic, just as how booshing has counters available as well. Any gatecamp worth their salt has a scout with eyes on the other side to see if anything comes through, and adapt to that.
That’s the whole point here as well. A change like that, with local being delayed to 5 seconds after gatecloak, forces you to become proactive in defense for areas that you find important. It removes this AFK-freedom we have now that we can sit safely docked and report whatever comes by.
Edit: especially because 5 seconds can be enough to have a Sabre land on you.
That’s one argument I’m not going to let count.
Contrast it with the monthly economic report and then compare it again with zkill.
With @Orca_Platypus I won’t need a cloak. I doubt he knows how to defend himself in the first place.
Overproduction of minerals, loot and salvage in NS is one of the reasons why many HS activities pay so little. Just think about it.
And don’t forget to use up any loyalty points!
Players say null is safer than high sectors, yes that’s right! However, this is not a security provided by CCP, but the players who are in contact for the reason of being safe… Those who want to live in the wormhole are already there… Then let them lift the jump gate’s: D LoL
i like these changes. Eve needs to evolve and this is the right direction.
They can still log in and do things this doesn’t stop them
cool story.
totally narrated bs though.
You interpret it one-sidely, where it only applies to defender. It should apply to all, which is what I would agree with.
I lived in Pure Blind hunting you, goon pets at the time.
That probably doesn’t count as you’re completely incompetent though.
FCing a gank is dumb easy.
FCing a fight is a bit more complicated, assuming fight happens, which is rare af (if you refuse to call one-sider a fight).
Ganking anything else is equally easy, which is the whole point you’re trying to cover with half-truthing demagogy over there.
Yes, because half-truthing demagogy would not hide the truth that ganktarding does not depend on target proficiency, and is ridiculously easy. In fact, dumbest people I know find themselves unable to do anything in eve but pvp.
You would still be trashed if you didn’t invest more than 500m each.
They won’t even engage. Chickens be chickens.
Is it my fault it’s the most rewarding tactic? “Oh gosh, maybe something IS wrong with risk/reward” should be your next thought if you could climb over 40 IQ wall.
Sad part is, even completely incompetent and stupid unskilled pleb like you could succeed.
…if only said pleb knew where I am. Anonymity is also a defense.
So. F*cking. Stupid.
If I wanted to join a Wormhole corp I would have,
Just sack the idiot that thought this up.
Can confirm it does stop me from logging in and doing things even before it actually happened, you are wrong.
