Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread

This is the best. Thank you so much.

Funny how history repeats itself.

Ccp announce dominion sov, and talked about how it would open up null to smaller groups and have small gang objectives (read: f goons). So dominion is implemented and the end result is that the “big blocs” got bigger and the small guys became renters…

Well here we have people thinking turning off local is going to basically do what ccp promised with dominion.

It wont.

In fact if history is a guide, it means EVEN MORE groups will clump together in an effort to spread the defensive umbrellas out even further to cover the new gaps removing local will create.

I always found it funny how people were celebrating dominion because they didnt understand the epic screwing it was about to deliver to them, even those outside null.

Yep, history repeating itself…

I approve of this message!

I had the same thought.

I also wonder how many folks who are ‘unsubbing their 9 accounts’ actually are paying customers.

Yes plex comes from somewhere . . . .but did these specific people open their own wallets every month? I was under the impression any non scrub in null plexed their accounts with ease.

You could have people sitting on gates, patrolling systems, and mapping wormholes for your “intel.” Even then you shouldn’t be 100% safe from anyone, ever. Nowhere is truly safe in EVE and nowhere should be truly safe. Not even Sov Null.

This I very much doubt. “I’m unsubbing my 12 rorq pilots!”

Really? We’re expected to believe people pay real money to sub mining? I don’t buy it, which fits nicely as neither do they.

This isn’t going to have the effect CCP thinks it will. It’s going to be the opposite. This is going to make things that are already a problem an even bigger problem. This has the to potential to make the blue donut meme an actually reality. There have been a number of solutions floated that would help, having to do with citadel timers and asset safety. This is only going to make an already risk averse group way more risk averse.

Not a good idea CCP . You have to make isk from ratting/mining to support wars and game play. The Big game ships are too expensive to shut down null like that were the isk is made.

On a different note i really believe you should diversify and allow more pve options to be able to fly big ships solo to make the game possible for those who dont enjoy being ruled over by corps. I get enough of that when i go to work… when im at home i want some peace sometimes do you understand that? Null is predictable to some level and this works for many i think for that reason.

Count me out also…2 subs gone…CCP you are clueless. Enjoy the game hunters…until there is nothing left to hunt

Jeez, people need to stop crying and think about how to use it to your advantage. People are so used to current tactics and info gathering and instead of coming up with new ideas that work they resist change. Bunch of cry babies. Go figure it out, its part of the fun - adapt and overcome.

Also, multiple accounts are still useful. While you cannot see local you can still see the gate and what comes in. Whats the salt over? adapt and overcome - stop yer dang crying.

PvP can actually happen now and not at choke points in larger numbers.

Happy to keep all 9 of my accounts active.

Lowsec local should be delayed too, should be only highsec that is live.

Nah, keep lowsec live, there should be a risk gap and stages from one level to another, and we need the medium ground between high and null, especially with the local change, which as I’ve stated above, I approve.

Frankly I think this is b*******. Null sec is safe because we make it safe. Through years of dropping structures in the right locations. Organizing Fleets spur-of-the-moment. Having huge Intel networks using to track the enemy so that we know where they are. As soon as this happens I’ll be asking for my money back for all of my accounts for CCP. IF YOU DONT LIKE THIS YOU SHOULD ASK FOR YOUR MONEY BACK TOO! I didn’t work so hard and train so long and pay so much money. To not be able to use the things that I like to play. CCP ty For not caring about us and or hard work!

It will end up like all MMO’s… Super rich, max SP char’s raping each other… no lowbies, (other than alts). Game then no fun for newbies… Shame really…

Sounds like a regular Pearl Abyss title.

God forbid Null dwellers actually run the risk of losing access to their fancy toys when they go to war. You’ll get no sympathy from me on an appeal to a sense of safety. You’ve watched CODE enforce their own brand of threat across High Sec. You’ve seen gatecamps in Low Sec. You’ve (hopefully) been down a wormhole and know what it’s like living down there.

Every sector of the game’s community have had their sense of safety buggered for years. The only thing Null dwellers have said in return is “HTFU.” Now it’s time for Null to harden the ■■■■ up.

I do wonder how many different reasons there are for playing this game. Personally i like space and most things about it. I dont mind paying for the virtual experience but… i find i cant fly the big ships without corp back up and then the corp rules your gaming experience. I wonder if the game was based on less violence/conflict that it would attract a different kind of player and expand the CCP horizons. If you need more revenue CCP is it worth looking for a different market more PG rated?

You should play Black Desert, unlike eve right now it actually makes you feel like you’re accomplishing something.
