Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread

We disagree on the premise. You haven’t really shown any reason that the number of pilots in space will drop overall due to this change. As far as I can see, all of cowards (like yourself) will already dock up when a neutral pops in on Near2 or whatever other system they have set up, so they didn’t contribute to number of pilots in space to begin with.

The all of this crying is just scared carebears threatening to leave, but I’d be willing to bet most of them are just empty threats, like all carebear threats are.

No, the second you jump into the system they will autodock because of local. And they will stay there until you leave. If local is gone they may see you enter but they will not know if you are gone or still there and you can prep to trap them if they start farming again. This is super simple, no idea why you have such a hart time grasping that.

I really don’t care about you nullbears. But your botting habits destroy the rest of EVE and that has to be fixed.

I don’t even know what that is supposed to mean.

no the balance goes completley in favor of the covops blopsers the defenders have to increase int eh fact that yes they could have a hundred supers docked in the nearest ks or a larger blob ready to drop in but that is the same in the current so no further risk than what is already here the non covops cloaked hunters will have more benefit as if they can get in without being spotted or marked at gate or intercepters may be able to get through without someone tagging them but unlikley to anyone who is paying attendion. basically scales i would say are tipped even more the other way in favopr of the hunters and roamers

Renters should have the ability to purchase or have included in rental costs a current list of players in system except for those with unbroken cloaks. The problem is that this will put at an even greater disadvantage on smaller corps that don’t own a system or a base capable of fitting a system scanner, if one would be developed.

If the industry out there collapses that would be great. This is a game, nothing is more boring as a well working unchallenged industry. I really really hope it all burns.

A good change. Personally the concept of having local in space that was supposed to be lawless never made much sense, so this is a rather convenient excuse to get rid of it thanks to the lore.

Possible effects?

Botting will be more risky since the programs tend to rely on local.
PVP will be easier - No more instant warning system.
Intelligence networks will be more heavily relied upon for safety of PVE toons in Nullsec going forward.
The salt. Almost as good as having some Russian or Yank rage at you at 2am in the morning.

Holy ■■■■, thank you and amen.
Exactly what I’ve said several times – and its not even rocket science.
These people seriously need to take the few brain cells they have and use them for something other than half-assed posts about how they’re going to (please biomass first) unsub and ■■■■.

Just don’t have local.
period.
Than its fair for all that live in null.

That’s what i did at some point. I just sent requests to CCP support for account cancellation with reason “I don’t support recent changes to the game” and now i’m pretty confident playing other games while CCP does things i don’t support.

Good luck in there! :ok_hand:

Local has become a fundamental precept for use in operations and safeguarding of owned systems. Doing away with local without a replacement which the system owner runs is a terrible idea for new players and small corps.

Honestly, I’m surprised it’s taken this long… WH space has always had this “scary calm” where nullsec doesn’t and nullsec has MORE things to make money off of (moon goo, more belts, guaranteed ore belts, ice, rats that have bounties…), they can also can build super capitals, and claim sov… Bottom line is this should be a permanent change, or WH space should get on par local as we have less harvest-able resources.

Fine, give hisec the equal resources of null.

He wanted hisec local gone.

Oh, trust me, there will be plenty of those, who will mine there, including our own ratting toons, lol.

So… NYPA, get lost.

Are you seriously that stupid? Can easily tell you’ve not put two thoughts toward this and actually used your own damned brain because you can’t even be bothered to friggin spellcheck, or use punctuation.

Sigh. The risk for you in a null system that you or allies own, it the fuckin’ same as before – if you have ACTIVE scouts. With a warm ass in the chair behind the controls.

However!!

If you suck, and are stupid, then you have people waltzing into your space without a care in the goddamn world, then you DESERVE TO DIE.

If you are a competent player with friends in system, that see that uber-evil covert cyno nerd jump in system, and you’re not on dscan for any reason (like, you were smart and warped off, or cloaked, or docked, or what the hell ever else), then the evil evil cloaky dude goes “oh, well damn, no targets here” and continues on. And if your group is competent, they’ve got a few insta-nado’s or other ■■■■ on the next gate already, waiting for the guy that has NO CLUE that he’s about to jump into a system with nerds waiting on him cause he doesn’t see local…

However if you’re bad, and cloaky evil hunter guy of doom jumps in, there aren’t eny eyes on the hole, he sees a ton of people krabbing or mining, and they don’t warp off… well, again, you deserve to die for being a lazy, incompetent idiot.

The amount of nullbear crying over local being removed showes just how lazy and incompetant you f1 lemmings really are! Your party is over! Easy mode is gone! You sound like a bunch of whiney self entitled millenials! God forbid youll now have to actually play the game and think for yourselves!

THANK YOU CCP!!!
KEEP THESE CHANGES COMING!!!
MAKE EVE DANGEROUS AGAIN!!!

Local is cancer, was cancer and will… not ever be a cancer anymore, hopefully.
Saying that these changes are bad for newer players and/or smaller groups - is an absolute bullcrap, that comes from a player that didnt even attempt to think how fun it will all be. And how many players are actually gonna like it (there will be more than enough of them, to keep both the industry and pewpew going and kicking)

You clearly don’t understand what happened with WHs and why I mentioned Dotlan as an example.
Anyone who knows the map can see that locals stats are there for the last 30 minutes for Null sec but you wont find any stats in the map for WHs for obvious reasons.
