You should try listening to what the leaders of the nullsec groups are actually saying.
Goonswarm: Mittens is excited and looking forward to it.
Legacy: Vily’s less excited, but still looking forward to seeing how it shakes out.
PanFam: Vince is kinda excited, too, and cautiously looking forward to this.
This will not be the hardship you seem to think it will be, for us.
oh for fucks sake do you spend any time in null sec? i have seen one guy sit in 30 different systems on one large block with 30 different toons soley to blops in. witch currently not a problem due to local you can choose that risk or move to another system he isnt in but afterwards since he doesnt ■■■■■■■ move unless killed he will sit in watch everythign everyone weather theres 3 or 40 people dont matter and theres no way of knowing their existance. now granted the average i seen in null sec is one or two in systems that the map shows are hotspots for ratting and mining so an exageration on my part in first example but i have seen that. now tell me how the hell it is any form of balance when that guy is unable to bve known about in any way to the area and able to bring virtually infinite about of characters into system via covert cynos or normal cynos (normal cynos will be known about as they show on overview) how that doesnt tip the scales in their favor. yes i know YOU live in wormhole and therefore this isnt a tactic YOU use and yes defence is gunna be the same for all blocs but my point is this drastically tips the scales in favor of the covops camper. and the cloaky camper is the only reson and proiblem i have with this. i dont mind local going away but as of now its the only way to mitigate risk or have any knowlegde of a cloaky camper in system and therefore unlike every other ship and thing in this game theres no way to mitigate risk at cost of reward. and the fact you assume defence of the system is a problem or whatever other excuse you want of me being bad be what it will the end of the day the only problem i have with this change is a valid one that can be abused and i cannot nor will i be ok with a change that increases an already broken mechanic into a mechanic that can now be abused without any risk at all. when CCP gets a solution to the cloaky camping problems ill back this change 100% but as of now thats the only poblem i have with this.
Maybe they are upset because they didn’t want to live in a wormhole.
Tho - We have heard for years “get rid of local”, so don’t blame them for their tears as they didn’t know what they were asking for.
SO TO MAKE MYSELF CLEAR FOR THE HUNDREDTH ■■■■■■■ TIME MY ONLY QUALM WITH A CHANGE THAT I THINK IS ULTIMATELY GOOD IS THAT IT TIPS SCALES EVEN MORE TOWARDS THE CLOAKY CAMPING. THAT IS IT AND THE ONLY REASON I DO NOT SUPPORT IT. IF THERE WAS ANY WAY TO MITIGATE THE RISK I WOULD SUPPORT IT FULLY.
Take away the safety nets from the nullsec carebears and watch them throw their tantrums. It really is entertaining.
Maybe I can actually roam in null and fight people rather than watch them insta-dock as soon as I show in local!
Meanwhile, the rest of you idiots can learn how to d-scan - if people can reasonably safely rat in wormhole space, you can do the same in nullsec if you pay a bit of attention.
It doesn’t. Half the purpose of cloaky camping is to reduce activity in the targeted system with the threat of the cloaky camper.
Now? No-one will know the cloaker is there, so they won’t care. In order to impact target activity, the camper will have to actually do something, not just afk cloaked up for 16+h a day.
First: I’m in favor of this change. I think it’s going to be hilarious to watch all the would-be badasses get BFG’d when they come after us.
That said: the whole ‘people can make this work in j-space’ ignores the fact that in j-space, nobody decloaks next to you, pushes a button, and has 100 dreads appear. That difference is a significant difference between null and j-space, and should not be ignored.
Be more worried about the recon roamers mate, Cloaky campers look at local to find their kill, now the actives will come at you in UN-scanable force recon and drop Blops on your crabby arse. Thank bob, and may the blood run free.
Yeah, that is true; the thing is that you have the known quantities of set entrances. Sure, a wormhole could roll in but the chances are much slimmer than in a C5 or C6 system.
I would be perfectly happy for the reward to be increased in response to the increased risk in nullsec from this, personally. If you’re willing to put your ship out there without the safety of local you probably deserve more.
Glad to see your still ruining what use to be the best game out there glad i closed all 3 accounts months ago on an issue i had with ccp and it was paased up to like 4 or 5 delvs , now mind you i would spend about 100.00 dollars on plex a month and every once in a while spend 1000.00 dollars on plex on top of that paid for my accounts 14.95 x 3 monthly … WONDER HOW MANY WILL UNSUB NOW GREAT FRAKING JOB CCP !!!
no because with how i play and when i return to null how i rat is to be far from the warpin and usually warto anom froman odd angle so i will see them land on grind and will be safe. but cloaky camper i wont know is in syustem at all unless my alts on gates physically sees them enter system i wont see them enter my anom i wont know anything until they decloak hiut a single button and 200 guys appear.
Answer these questions intelligently. Until then, shut the hell up.
The dude sits in those systems and watches… what?
You have a problem with a cloaky camper because… why again?
If you can’t see him, and he can’t see you because there is no local, then… where is that problem again?
Please define “sentence”, “punctuation”, and “paragraph” and their purpose:
If the cloaky camper is cloaked, and there is no local, and he farts, does it really make a sound?
If the camper doesn’t get the free intel of local, and can’t see if there is any activity in the 30 systems s/he is in, does s/he scream silently that they’re now utterly useless?
I assume that defence matters because I have lived in nullsec. In the shittiest fuckin’ part of nullsec, called Providence. “Of Sound Mind” had a recruitment policy back then that they did not hire anyone with more than 15M skill points. At that time we had this dude/dudes called “Replicant Xof100” or something similar who camped all 3 of our systems, all day, every day. And he tried to jump us like 4 times. Ever. Because every time, we fuckin’ frogstomped him and his blopsing buddies in the ISK war that after about a year he ■■■■■■ off cause it wasn’t worth camping us. The reason we weren’t worth camping is that we actually had competent players who helped one newbros to not suck. And we didn’t subsidize idiocy.
Nah, there’s no need to increase the reward. Them doing this is it’s own reward. It’s going to hurt two groups of people:
Small groups.
The Stupid.
Group 1 will either join up with the big blocs, or they’ll leave null. I hope they choose not to leave null, because more people out here is always good.
Group 2… I will simply repeat something I have said many times, across many threads: KILL OUR STUPID, PLEASE.
Seriously. Either they learn, in which case, they weren’t really stupid, just not educated, or they won’t. And every time they die, they provide a hilarious lossmail that we can use to mock them and use as an object lesson for other people to learn from. It’s no different than Marmite fapping about killing SMA jump freighters in high-sec because ‘lol, we hurt the CFC’. It doesn’t hurt us. It helps us. Darwinian pressure to adapt or die only assures that we’ll adapt, and continue to shed the dead weight that won’t.
