Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread

It’s pretty simple to use 64-au combat probes on a wide pattern. Keeps them from being within 14 au of any target. 1 scan, you’ve got which anom a target is in. Then you quickly drop them to .5 au right on top of that anom, and warp in on him.

As for group 1
They really don’t need to leave null. I just finished a post above, basically we had 300 newbros who held against 6k once ■■■■ hit the fan. It’s just a different setup and people are required to not be dumb.
as for group 2, yeah, agreed, they should feed us

300 is where you start to hit the range of ‘can look after themselves’, yeah. But I dunno that that’ll be the case once local’s gone. That number’s likely to move up by a fair bit. 300ish will probably be ok, but under 200 will likely be ‘stay in lowsec’.

also combat probes
… But Oh no… having to fit a counter on your ship at the cost of an isk earning mod slot

and its a high slot so it doesn’t even fit where the sensor booster used be for countering ECM

Except nullsec already has the safest and most profitable space.
Local (yay going away)
Asset safety
fixed gates
Titans (WH cant’ have those at all) & Supers
etc.

Removing asset safety would be glorious. Oh my god, we’d turn all of null into loot pinatas.

■■■■ yeah. Can you IMAGINE the pinatas? Trillions of ISK. And the rivers, no, oceans of tears!!

This is awesome, I am glad this is happening to null sec. Most of the people who are hating this so munch are more likely botters to start with. Did think null should have more of a broken local chat anyways due to the fact concord or any other major faction dont go out that far anyways. best news I gotten all year. Make Null Sec like Wormhole \o/

I come out of my wormholes into Null and as soon as I do they figure out someone got in the system somehow even though they are watching gates, then they start scanning for WH because local is telling them there is someone in system. This gonna change everything.

It’d be great. We’d drop 1000 titans on everything.

You can also use PvE probes which raise less suspicion in dscan and then fly (covert right) to each site and look at the overview as you scan them down.

No, I mean from a Combat Recon. No targeting delay if you don’t cloak.

Core scanners won’t see ships, and nullsec sites are all anoms not sigs

Find the site, find the perp.

The sites are automatically visible to everyone. You don’t have to scan them down at all.

Right, I guess I have not explored since they added the mini games.

Sorry for the mistake, anomalies. Happy?

“The dude sits in those systems and watches… what?”
watches the activity to from citidaels who rats who mines what anoms people go to scout the cynos that go up to see who enters in what makes notes on people of interest etc. none of the witch is local useful.

“You have a problem with a cloaky camper because… why again?”
currently, no problem business as normal for me when this happens do my due diligence research setup my own safety net along with having my own alliance safety net etc.

“If you can’t see him, and he can’t see you because there is no local, then… where is that problem again?”
he can see you see the first question. you can’t and will not see him.

“Please define “sentence”, “punctuation”, and “paragraph” and their purpose:”
sentence = whatever the ■■■■ i type till i decide to put something to end it
punctuation = useless key on keyboard that grammar nazis insist i use
paragraph = what my sentences generally are

“If the cloaky camper is cloaked, and there is no local, and he farts, does it really make a sound?”
no, because space is a vacuum

“If the camper doesn’t get the free intel of local, and can’t see if there is any activity in the 30 systems s/he is in, does s/he scream silently that they’re now utterly useless?”
well a dscan would show wreks that would show activity within last 120mintues also ships that could be at belts or anoms etc all local does is show people are here until any looking happens whether it’s a map of the place you plan to go or physically in system you know nothing for all you know everyone is docked and no one exists actively in system.

well, good job leaving pri more power to ya but at end of the day ignoring the already broken mechanic of cloaky camping is the only reason i dont support this as it makes it even more powerful.

Sure, but the point is: you don’t have to find the site, you have to find which site. Core probes won’t do squat for that.

No, more like ‘If you refuse to put in even minimal effort to communicate clearly, why should any of us pay any attention to anything you say?’
