I saved all my tears for calling out ccp rize for nerfing TEs instead of directly changing the machs that were so op with them back when. Only poeple getting easy kills are the f1 blobbers . id say like yourself but as far as i can tell you have 18 pvp kills since 2008 so yeah…
Local is bad for the game because it’s ridiculously over used and led to null literally being safer than highsec. Cloaking is OK because believe it or not a cloaky neut in the system is hardly a threat because the ship itself is made of paper and finger paint and your ship isn’t meant to live forever either. Need to learn how to work around or deal with problems you can’t see. Instead of crying that cloaky campers are a menace. Cause their barely an annoyance.

Yea. They can hang around in system cloaked possibly with a cyno. Just like before except sometimes you might not know they are there. What does this have to do with you and your risk adverse buddies not dealing with your problems and making it work anyway?

No matter how paper thin you want to think t3 cruisers are, they will wreck and subcap currently dealing with rats, period. Even assault frigates can. So thats 1 thing
Cloaking means log off and back into system, you’re now dscan immune. Log off in a collossal on top of an asteroid with a boosher fleet. Log in, cloak, uncloak, boosh.
Log off, log in, combat probe, warp in, boosh, repeat.
Covops cloak warp on ratting carrier, blops in, kill them without anything even showing on overview unless they react immediately. Warp off/log off, repeat.
The list goes on and on. Wormholes, nullified ships, t3ds, recons… All these tools are buffed to hell by this change because they now have no realistic counter other than “hot drop them when tackled” which is ridiculous to say thats the only solution is to bring more people or die no matter what.
I’ve been kind of mulling this whole thing over in my head and I’ve thought of some more things to add.
I expect combat to focus around gates even more so than it does already. Catching people at gates is already one of the easiest ways to catch them due to the necessary bottlenecks involved in jumping out and the ease of getting people stuck off of gates by use of bubbles.
Camping gates heavily in critical areas will work quite well for area denial. Guarding O-VWPB and Atioth for example locks out 28 systems in Geminate except those entering through WHs which is far from a reliable way to find a specific pocket of K-space.
The scales have always been tipped in favor of the person attempting to avoid a fight rather than a person attempting to force a fight.
To find prey on d-scan a hunter must “hit” the target several times with scan to narrow down their location and must repeatedly adjust angle, scope and possibly distance to find them. Even then they may warp in to find their prey 170km away and long gone before they close the gap.
A single “hit” on the hunter or any probes at 360 degrees and max range for the prey is enough to know to move.
This is a big one: if a gang is roaming in your space then once that gang has been scouted you know what ships they are flying and what tactics they are using. You are in your home space and presumably have other ships around. The invader can not reship in the same way.
Alliances can have members drop a “o/” in local in each system they enter if desired so at least alliance blues will be able to account for the new arrivals they see on d-scan in local.
A quick few notes:
Have a safespot, even a weak one is better than nothing. If you don’t know how to create a safespot, ask.
When you are discovered warp to your safe not directly to a citadel, station or gate. Though they may feel like safe places to go these are where traps will be set because this is where people who panic will warp to. If you warp straight to citadel don’t be too surprised when one day you land a few hundred kilometers away on top of a sabre.
Once you’re at your safe, cloak if you can, pre-align out if you can’t. Know where you are warping if someone warps in on you and bail the instant you see anyone on overview. Drop more safe spots as you warp around. It is frequently easier to evade hunters in your current system than it is to try and run from them. Safe log when you can if you feel the need to go that far.
Lastly, if someone warps in onto your safe spot, DELETE IT. That spot is compromised and your hunter has probably marked it in case you use the same spot more than once even by accident.
Most players who are saying that this is good change are usually high sec miner who hope that they can make billions of mining in o.8 system because prices will sky rocket. Well if you think CODE. is problem expect after this that you will not be able to mine for 2 minutes without instant docking how many players will move to high sec just to troll because staying in null will be pointless. Places will burn, not just Jita. Also process of thinking of devs:
Dev1: Hey lets make some change to null sec.
Dev2: Yeah, but lets make it good,game changing, lest turn off local chat.
Devi1: If we do that, that means that null will become almost same as WH space.
Dev2: No, not at all. In there is no constant enterence in WH but now 70 alfa chars can slip into heart of alliance territory and kill rorqual or carrier. Isnt it great?
Dev1: Yeah, sure. Even tho some group spent time in planing and preparing a war for that territory, and other group prepared defence, we will make that territory almost worthless and ignore their efforts to make it safe part of space which they fought for, we didnt give it to them.
Dev2: Of course, we will ignore group who actually live there and who is keeping this game alive and do as we want. PEOPLE WILL LOVE THIS!!!
So. React immediately with no delay, and abandon drones if using them.
Please for once, try, TRY to pretend there is another side to this. I’ve hunted more than you can imagine, it isnt half as hard as you’re making it seem to understand how strong this will be.
