For every scared krab who unsubs, there will be more pvp hunters who will. And overall, the game will become a better place with more pvpers and less scared krabs.

and krabs that actually pvp and provide engageing fights… or even fcuk you up!!

I sense a bad quarterly statement for the investors is on the horizon. Would love to see that presentation.

Funny how the people resort to the classic trollery but for all these extra hunters they say will come back hope its enough to pay the bills for those that will leave, I plan on staying and watching things fall apart maybe for both sides.

The resulting Migration of so many back to Highsec, it is the circle of EVE all over again . THe Salt from both sides of this issue will keep me in Lutefisk quotas running for some time.

You might be surprised, there are many so called PvP players who are really risk averse and if they don’t have certainty to win they don’t engage. And as the majority of the combat coming from tis change will be BLOP’s drops you can sure it will be wham bang execution style which is one hell of a big yawn, rather like freighter ganking in hisec. Totally and utterly boring from the defender side of things. And this is why people will be turned off by it.

The roaming stuff if fun and all, but I am not expecting that to be what really goes down.

How do you know a majority will be blops?

Oh, it will be.

Listen to Vince Draken on that podcast with the Mittani and Vily. As Burn Eden of NCDOT. were the only group to have actually made me give up and leave an area, and part of that was due to account sharing blanket camping I know the mentality. We even got a spy in their group who was playing WOT’s with them while waiting for someone to do something. People want to blow up stuff without getting blown up.

But where is the evidence to support your claim that a majority of this will be from BLOPs?
What is the fundamental change between Local and No Local that would suddenly make BLOPs make up the majority?

Go and listen to the pod cast, it was linked by Arrendis. Also that is the mentality of the majority of Eve players, if you think otherwise you are just naïve.

Blop’s are not cost effective, I doubt they will suddenly take off.

What I really do find funny is all this talk about the blackout going permanent and there is no prof it will last more then 48 hours , so all this strife and angst may well be for nothing and then all parties can return to being mutually unhappy.

is what you should have said, with the exception of snuff and maybe a couple of wh groups its not the usual mentality of many eve groups, in fact many have left because its this mentality that ccp have allowed or indeed pushed for without realising that its only part of the game; and though big fights may make news; they dont make for great everyday gameplay.

With blackout however fleets may have to become more than that, more than just a blob of the same ships; the niche or as some like to call them ‘elite’ pvpers will also have a role as outriders or skirmishers and scouts - in fact they may even be wanted by fc’s everywhere because they will need or want the eyes out there. In fact thats probably where most wh groups differ vastly to null as they will often have these; nullblocs find it hard to field even one interceptor let alone decent sabre dudes.

The minimum you could ve done before this is giving people atleast 4weeks before it begins, now i have sub paid for a month that i will not play and its unfair because i could use the money on my hisec alt

Almost all of them are really risk averse to supers because it’s completely hopeless to fight them without a mega coalition behind you. You can fight subcaps outnumbered if you’re smart about it, but fighting capitals in a small gang is a waste of time.

As long as that’s the standard response in null you’re right, PVP won’t get much better overall. If supers weren’t so effective at defense we’d see a huge shift toward subcap PVP, and alliances would need to focus more on active defense. Sending out gangs of their own, keeping standing fleets ready, setting traps etc. Like it was 4 or 5 years ago, instead of just relying on people to light a cyno when they’re in trouble.

Yeah, if Fozzie hadn’t made Carriers and Supers basically death to subcaps on the same grip, particularly battleships that outside of chain booshing have no chance of surviving figters, much less bombers.

you shut your mouth about EQ.

There’s also no proof it will only be 48 hrs. After all…

The ‘48h’ in the dev blog is how far in advance they’ll tell us ‘we’re turning it off now’.
