Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread

We haven’t finished yet…

also building a palatine would just be like painting a big target i think, if theres one things people like to do in eve…

Funny you know - Without PVE there would be NO Eve.
You are right. PVEr’s didn’t make Eve the game it is today (for better or worse) but without those who risked it all a lot of the time ALL the PVPr’s could do is sit around waiting for ships to be built…

I would bet dollars to donuts it isn’t PVPr’s that are targeted during the blackout - All these hero PVPr’s are crying out for the blackout so they can go target the miners and other that provide them with what they need to PVP…
NB; Not complaining - It has been the way since Eve came out of Beta. PVPr’s hate PVEr’s and simply forget or don’t care how much they need them…

the blackout has a reason and we all want to know.
it is impassable to wait what can happen through it.
like its let’s cut off your legs let’s see if you can still run.

your literally assuming pvpers dont actually pve, its a really easy mistake for someone to make when theyre trying to justify only doing pve - but it is a mistake; pure pve players should not be in nullsec and should not have a say on what happens there.

Well, prices are going to go up on relic and data site drops, yay to being a salvage hoarder. Get ready to spam your V+LClicks and get in a wormhole state of mind.

damn some here should use their head for thinking and not as a hat stand

ROFL - Have you been reading this thread. You and i both know most PVPr’s also PVE but they way they have been talking about it here you wouldn’t know it…
But still, show me any PVPr who doesn’t need to buy stuff by doing PVE and i’ll show you a trust fund kid…

  • I do have many chars (none of which has ever been botted) most are PVE skilled and All are either cynos, scouts or something else useful in a fight. My main is pure PVP (doesn’t even do PI LOL). So yes i agree if you want to live in NULSec you should be prepared and able to defend your chosen home…

and this is the reason why pve pilots and industrial pilots have strong arms represented by good pvp pilots !

huh. There’s not good reasoning. 7K from 10K is the same overall effect. You haven’t tried to answer the question about whether large groups or small groups are more likely to loose members.

Brutal but totally true, I have the same level of contempt for these ganktards that you have. Fair weather PvP’rs indeed…

The previous system was finely balanced between the hunter and the hunted, I was operating with people flying around nearby and I would pull drones and warp out when someone entered local. To me if you are observant and focussed then getting out like that is perfectly balanced at the base level.

No, the question was why large groups would live longer. The answer’s simple: they can bleed longer and still have the strength to respond to an actual crisis.

As for which group is more likely to lose members… the small groups, definitely. Larger groups can provide more security for those who want it and are willing to do what’s needed (don’t fly something small, stay under the supercap umbrella, have a cyno fitted, do not be stupid and go afk while in space, etc). Smaller groups can’t, so they’re more likely to be at the mercy of the hunters. They just don’t have the capabilities the larger groups do. All things considered, I’d actually look for TEST and Brave to grow some, off of this.

Good news it should be the same except in HS.
Why so much electronics in our ships in order to use the chat to see dangers and ennemies?!
I just hope that cover ships would be balanced for miners for example cause it just too easy to destroy someone without defense and now blind too from my point of view.

Nah, I quit Nullsec today! I saw the writing on the wall and got the #@&% out! CCP seems to be at war with Nullsec and that’s a war we can never win because Drifters are OP AF … been there, done that! I’m just a carebear now roaming Lowsec / Highsec solo

On the other hand if most in those large groups are darn near afk most times, more risk adverse in general and have to put up with far more requirements–they’ll bleed out quickly. Small groups often have a way of sticking together.–many have been around for ten years + though thick and thin. We’ll see what happens.

Averse, not adverse. Things are adverse (bad), people are averse (don’t like something).

And yes, if those large groups are damn near afk most of the time, there’s less interaction to anchor people… but are they? There’s always someone around. And that whole ‘small groups often have a way of sticking together’? That works against CCP here. Lemme 'splain:

If you’ve got a small group, say, 20-30 people, and they all know one another and enjoy playing togfether… and 5-6 of them decide ‘we’re not unsubbing, we’re just gonna sit this out and go play World of Warships’, that has an immediate impact on the 14-25 others. And those folks are more likely to say ‘Boats sounds cool, yeah, we can take a break from EVE, sure…’

Hit critical mass, and they’re all logged off. It’s part of the problem CCP was running into with HS wardecs: Once people dock up for a week, they find something else to do. And if you let that new thing last long enough to become their new routine, their new habit… they don’t come back when the thing they’re avoiding ends.

Larger groups, just by virtue of having more people in them, have more people around to keep players from going ‘hey, yeah, let’s all go play that other game together’.

just once assumed this event serves the pvp players roughly to annoy weaker pve players, how would eve look in terms of killboard there would be no camouflage modules or bubble throwers .-)

This whole "WITHOUT US YOU WOULDN’T BE HERE" propaganda needs to die. Every PVPer is a PVEr, and vise versa. Either they have an alt to fund the others activity or the legendary hunter crabs just as hard as the next man. The majority of NS ships are T1, meaning anyone with access to level 3 missions can fund their NS shenanigans indefinitely, without a single care in the world. That’s just level 3 missions.

Even if there was some unprecedented PVEr unsub exodus all we’d have to do is train industry V and suddenly y’all never mattered. It’s that not that serious.
