Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread

Talking to him seems to be a waste of breath - he doesn’t even understand ehp calculations and claims we do not take resist profile into consideration.

Don’t worry. Orca will produce 500~600 more whiny posts so you can get on the 7k post

Null is supposed to be dangerous bro, i roam null solo, too. Its not like people are going to flood to null because of the comms blackout, cmon. There will still be huge chunks of empty space. I’m worried about the stealth bombers while exploring, tho. Otherwise, nullsec is going to become a lot more exciting.

Sum up over this whole issue before the blackout, I don't like it but hey everyone wants to play the way they wish or have known , Risk Vs Reward if you can make a profit in this do so work with your corps if possible friend's and so on strength in numbers use those umbrellas folks. Definitely don't undock if you cant afford to lose what you fly, if you decide to wait this out and dock up for the even have lots of reading material , if you chose to come out be aware they sold out on most Covert ships in Jita that will ruin your day. If you chose to withdraw funding it may send a greater statement, but remember my Logistic gathering friends , make yourselves a pain to hunt and hope when this all goes back to normal when it does you can say to the would be PVP hunters, I chose not to give you all the satisfaction.

The whole point of this change is that ganks in null are 99% safe with local, and without local they become 100% safe, making nullsec safer than hisec for ganktard.
Nullsec is supposed to be dangerous, for ganktards as well, I do not accept that change without addressing the issue of someone else having 100% safety.

Mother of god, this is delectable. Six thousand posts of the purest NaCl. This is the first time in a very long time that I’ve been actually gleeful about some change CCP has brought to Eve, and I don’t even play anymore. It says something that the game got so bad that I threw over a decade of Eve away and unsubbed all nine accounts a while back, and that this almost got me considering resubbing.

It’s not quite enough to pull that off, yet. I suspect CCP might still cave to the bears, and Eve’s still utterly broken in terms of Rorquals, Super proliferation and skill injectors, but all that said…

… this was a good one, CCP. For damn near the first time in a decade, you got it right. Just try not to cock it up, yeah?

ever heard of something called stabs? less reliable, but burst jammer+mjd could work, and there is probably plenty other options for solo people. guess now comes “meh my ticks”, but patches sometimes change how effective something is.

well, its still a mmo, if you want to reduce your risk, bring some friends with combat ships with you, or a cyno and something on standby.

you can easily rat with a for example bait gila which shreds tackle and some other stuff, the ticks are some percent lower, but still better then highsec or staying docked.

why do you need to join a bloc? If you are in a small group you could even run anoms with these together without exhausting the respawn rate. Its not like they are locked for a single vni and have timer based spawn.

thumbs up to this post.

It would take Skiff 9.2 seconds to enter warp. In this time, entire gank will lock and point you.

This thread has been nothing but educating clueless wormhole chickens on cyno mechanics.
If cyno is killed while someone is in transit, he arrives at the sun. Most subcaps will die to bomber alpha in 6 seconds, some in 12, full brick tanks (incapable of any pve) - in 20. Even instant jump is not arriving in 6 seconds, and even if it does arrive, it spends the next 12 seconds (best case - NSA carrier) locking bombers, meaning the target is guaranteed to die, and bombers are guaranteed to escape.
That makes covert cyno gank 100% safe.

Full brick gila will have 80k ehp. Two alphas from 10 bombers will do it, and you lose 30 ticks worth of ship. Nope.

Do wormchickens even know the current respawn times? Last time we had a cloaky camper, we went out with a blob of Caracals and “ratted” in that. And we exhausted the respawn rate, in T1 cruisers. Not all space is -0.98, you know.

Because covert cyno is a guaranteed 100% safe eradication of all subcap life.
Because if you are not in a bloc, and get a capital out, blocs will use you for target practice.
Therefore the only way is to join a bloc and get under super umbrella.

What? This statement is utter kokmouth. I’ve had my local window hidden while in other chat windows and have completely forgotten to look when there’s activity, sometimes I don’t catch it until it blinks. I spam dscan though and have caught people de-cloaking close to me. The point is that being observant and using your tools could mean the difference between keeping and losing your stuff. I’ll be right back with your cheese.

Math is done, and proven that nothing stops the covert cyno gank, and it’s 100% safe to do, which is why all the trashes claiming to be pvpers, but only ganktards really, are excited - they get 100% safety to play with.
Of all things, it’s 100% dscan-proof, so mentioning dscan as a remedy is automatically disqualifying you from any claim of intelligence or relevance to this discussion.

Higgs Anchor + web or 2 from another Skiff and stay aligned and you’ll (fleet)warp out instantly.

do they have enough points to lock all the stabbed skiffs? - cool story then. for mining, bring something that protects you.

Also you can spiderweb for example to lower the warpout time.

i’m not even a wormholer…

even a no prop gila basically halves the dps of torps already by flying in a straight line.

Did you tried to move to the system next to you? Its not like Null is everywhere like delve and overcrowded.

You forget that huge blocs also attract lots of groups to hunt there.

This is going to be GREAT!

If they did chances are we would see it as soon as it gets lit and respond accordingly

… BTW did you know there’s a way to spot covert cyno’s without them knowing you are looking ?

GAWD, the amount of hubris being shoveled here in this thread is frackin’ unbelievable. Seriously, you’re not going to change anybody’s mind and if you think mixing in snide sarcastic demeaning remarks denotes a superior intelligence then you’re sadly mistaken.

EDIT:
Reading this thread gives me a headache.

Also, covert cynos give plenty of time to warp out to attentive players, as I and others have explained in detail. Only ships that should worry about covert cynos are seiged and those should be supported.

We’re down to hisec tricks eh?
There are three problems with that approach:

  1. Doesn’t solve 100% safety of covert cyno gank, nullsec should not be safe.
  2. Gives weapon timer.
  3. Mining like this is literally peanuts, when you realize you could mine more in 1 hours on a rorq under supercap umbrella, while here you mine less than hisec, how is it not forcing the bloc rorq meta?

Yeah, like a boson.
What should people who do not live under supercap umbrella do?

3 target painters. Solved.

If only there were perfect intel tools like dotlan or in-game map which would tell exactly where I moved…

Educational bosoning in 3…2…1…

Literally clueless about how covert cyno gank works. It is lit right into your face usually.

This Orca had 187k EHP. Count the seconds it lived. If response would’ve undocked the second cyno was lit, it won’t have landed in time. Tell me how do you fight instant fleet in your face, mate? Should I get ready for a coolstory where you had your trap manned 23/7 for 3 days and caught someone?
