Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread

hmmmm “DeadCo welcome to eve?”

SURPRISE!!!

Legacy logistics: ‘hundreds of people’.
GSOL: About 50.

Yeah. Yer ‘streamlined’ alright.

ALL RIGHT !! DOTLAN AND KILLBOARD NOT WORKING ALSO, THANK YOU CCP, NOW PVP AND PVE FOR NULL IS FUN !!!

Seems you guys are to * High five* but teamwork and logistic division are a major part of any corp , He jsut does not seem to get it. Glad you have a good group to work with

If you check today’s numbers, they look very similar to yesterday’s player count, before the blackout:

Has anyone seen anything, other than procedural changes, that are substantially different?

Is that ‘today’ as in ‘saturday, EVE time’, or ‘Late Friday Night, US’?

Because you don’t want to compare one day to the next. That doesn’t yield consistent usage patterns. Compare Saturday to Saturdays. Compare Friday to Fridays.

Edit: at 0700 last Saturday, we were at 21,000 people. Now we’re at 18. Again: too soon to draw meaningul conclusions, though. After all, two weeks ago, well… 21k.

To be reasonably safe, we’d need 3 weeks of Blackout data. But I’ve always been cautious on actually drawing conclusions. You can note trends and produce hypotheses all you want, but conclusions, you should be careful about.

Yes today we have…

THE SALT!!!

explains a lot, they didnt have anything happening yesteray when i roamed through their space but brave were always kind of useless.

you dont support ■■■■, your idea of support is docking up to form a 50 man fleet while your guys die to a small gang.
I roamed through your space yesterday, your guys did basically nothing; 3 sat on citadels.

Hello to all. I like this chat. I wish you all good luck…

From when if i can ask Sir?.

After downtime, and the blackout, compared to the same times the previous day.
And yes, it is my impression that Sundays yield the most players, and Monday the fewest. However, we won’t be able to look at a good statistical set for several days. After all of the insistence that people would unsub, or that they would resub, due to the changes, I suspect something different is going to happen.

CCP is actually capitalizing on this change with a great deal of publicity. It doesn’t matter, in the short term, whether the decision was correct or not. Huge numbers of readers are seeing the stories like “Eve Online blacks out space!” and are taking another look at the game. I think a lot of industrialists/miners/ratters will leave null, and maybe the game, but other players, intrigued by the stories, will take their places.

la la la nanana nanan eves that girrrrll…

Right. That’s bad practice. Usage patterns differ from day to day. To get accurate comparisons, you need to look at the same day over several weeks.

Arrendis, I noted that further in my msg.

We are all curious about where this will take Eve.
