Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread

Why say that, for years nullsec and CSM has been asking CCP to do it.

Now they finally have in a controlled manner people like you complain about it.

CCP are daimed if they do it or not.

So add a mechanic to detect cloaked ships, you don’t have to know exactly where they are, just that they’re there. Otherwise you have a situation like I ran into last night, was doing a relic site on my alt, watched a goons kiki fleet pass by, waited about an hour to be sure it was clear, checked dscan multiple times, no probes, no ships on dscan. Waited another 10 min just to be sure, decloak to start the site, sb decloaks right after points before I can warp off and 3 others come in. Could have been there for hours, could have been 10 min, but the minute he saw me doing the site he knew it would be easy. No skill, easily accomplished afk and no real way other than going around in a fleet of other cloaked ships to counter it… That’s broken mechanics

So you were using a cloak and are complaining about cloaky ships? It kind of goes both ways.

I have been in your situation many many times, I have managed to warp off, I have died. I have also been the one in the cloaky hunting ship, I have had success and I have been baited.

You have played for seven years, welcome to eve. What did you have in your low sots?

The Krabs have been increasingly safe for years to the point where most of null was empty and just as safe as highsec, where even there, the most violent systems have been dominated by new players dying to rats in the rookie systems.

Whether operating under a super umbrella or just botting away in Perigrin Falls, Oasa, etc. the Krabs have been able to krab it up in style for too long.

The data doesn’t lie. From the kills per hour to the economic reports, good riddance to the lack of risk, for everyone. PVPer and PVEer alike, and especially to the leeches that Krab off this game and sell their ISK for real money.

What the blackout makes me think is to the days before Fozzy sov…Not exactly a joyful thought…

Agreed. The snow globe of null has been stagnate with fat cats with their safety bots alerting any presence in their ā€˜safer than hisec’ systems. Time to shake it up. Eve is not supposed to be safe. Null is certainly not supposed to be safe. I will be there and I will be vewy vewy quiet, cause I’m hunting wabbits.

And you are wrong right on the first line.
Nullsec was decreasingly safe for years.
There were gravimetric sigs, ganktards cried, they got removed.
There were bubbles, ganktards cried, they got nerfed into oblivion.
Nerf after nerf, up to recent NSA nerf, was all in favor of the most risk-averse chicken worthless playstyle of ganktards.

The lack of risk is at the highest point - all risk from ganktards have been removed.

Then why was it made 100% safe for ganktards with this stupidity?

Return danger to eve by getting some risk for ganktards too.

They announced observatories a few years ago, the crowd cheered. Looking for the video now.

Those that cry loudest usually have the most the lose, or lost the most. What’s up. Lose your RMT income or something?

You’ve certainly been crying the loudest in this thread:

Just go join Goons then. While nullsec NPC kills are way down, Delve still is pretty active:

Nullsec systems with more than 500 NPC kills in the last hour

System Region NPCs
Y-4CFK Venal 553
R5-MM8 Delve 543
G-D0N3 Tenerifis 522
D-FVI7 Esoteria 881

You’re right, I have been playing for 7 years and I’ve seen CCP up in arms from the beginning about alliances bluing each other before coalitions, and null sec really hasn’t changed that much. Welcome to organization, it’s what people do, and when you try to forcibly change that notion of human nature you get push back. CCPs only problem is they underestimated how efficiently people would work together and now they’re angry about it, as if this game isn’t a paradox of the real world where you have major powers that dominate resources…

As for my low slots, it really didn’t matter, I had drone augments for low slots but the point I was making is it requires no effort, just sitting there AFK waiting, the same thing everyone is complaining about people doing to make isk now just with a free pass to do it to kill people too

Fraternity is one of the six major supercapital umbrellas. It’s decidedly not ā€˜non-umbrella nullsec’.

Yeah, there is. Aside from all of the things I said before: seeing a consistent loss of 10% of their PCU, or 12-13% once the initial ā€˜we’re back because no local’ wave wears off might scare CCP into not trying anything like this for another five years. Punch them in the wallet when they’re trying to make their bonuses, and they’ll react to that. It doesn’t matter if a change is good or bad for the game, if it’s bad for the company, even just in the short-term.

There’s a huge difference between PLEXing your account and botting. Don’t conflate the two.

Sounds like DBRB. As long as you don’t literally wave your butt in front of him, he’s easy to dodge.

Get tired of hearing how Null sec is so safe, NO ITS NOT. Any measure of some safety comes from corps that have taken measures to give some level or Umbrella and gate protection , and response groups and inner border roaming units , active Fleet channels where people relaying who they encounter , offers only some protection. With all this you still can find yourself being jumped on.

Null is never safe, and this illusion of it being so is WRONG, if you leave space dock your a target , I think what the real issue that most people have is that if local was still up it gives people more time to respond.

But remember to even with Local up the PVP crowd still made kills , once it comes back up will go back to what it was before.

The other side of the Coin is the PVP groups claims it so Fing tough for them , it should be tough, you should not have to have it all go easy for you , if a miner has to be looking over his shoulder all the time it all balances out , in the end your skills speak more about how good you really are.

So to both sides I say your only as good as your training, there are things on both sides you can do to survive , or hunt. How successful you are comes down to how you handle the situation.

The crowd cheered because it was supposed to get rid of cloaky ganktards who were so safe they could literally walk away from PC for a day and be safe.

Unless their name is Mar5hy and their login-and-cloak script broke.

It seems to have returned danger to 0.0 which is a very good thing. Perhaps try a safer area of Eve, high-sec seems well suited to your low risk play style.

Please refrain from using the word ā€œganktardā€ we all know what word you want to use. It’s ableist and discriminatory.

And I was probably scrutinized by CCP security 10 times over, which is fine, because I don’t bot, rmt, or even plex - I’m 100% clear of all that.

I’d rather quit.

So that means there’s 80% down in ratting… some of those systems were over 3000.
Except goons who have umbrella, it seems the carebears are doing the right thing - not undocking.

The only problem with it is that it’s not discriminatory enough - it really portays intended recipients smarter than they are.

You have been making this claim for almost 4 years, just quit already, no one cares about the opinion of someone that threatens to quit when something doesn’t go their way!

Like I said, if other games didn’t betray me on regular basis, I won’t be crawling back to eve every 6-12 months.
And about me quitting… not before I unloaded on all of you unintelligent insects.

And you know what’s funny? It’s a motivating feeling to write more when you know someone, in a desperate attempt to gather intel, has scrolled your entire post history and read every truth you said.

Gonna keep writing.

Editing someone’s words now counts as a rebuttal?

Well now we know what you intend while using it. Guess I’ll have to flag it for language.
