Is this whole “ganktard” thing some kind of weird forum tourette syndrome? It had first seemed like maybe it was just a juvenile phrase you might have picked up on the playground and had mistaken as clever and so it’s the hot new thing you’re saying today, but I’m pretty sure I just saw you use it three times in one sentence so I’m starting to wonder if there’s a problem.
Anyway the socially acceptable term is self-less, demand-side economic stimulator. “Hero” is acceptable if you’re in a hurry.
Upwell structure, communication beacon, use quantum entangle helium 4 as fuel
Creates a proper local chat in null sec system with sov, it could be destroyed like an MTU but would give notifications and have health system similar to other upwell structures(no reinforce times). Once destroyed, no more local
New reaction BP for quantum entangle helium 4, uses drifter and trig loot plus moon reactions.
No. We don’t need new structures. We don’t need more goddamned structures. Make it a service module that uses He4 or Helium fuel blocks or something.
And really, don’t do Local. Make it put Constellation in immediate mode. The channel exists for every constellation in the game. So does Regional. That’ll give some warning, but limit specifics.
What is your problem with people playing the game as they see fit? There are so many ways to play this game, just because someone plays a different style please don’t belittle and berate their game style.
Time to see who’s wallets bigger, people who want local vs people who don’t. Also before people smack talk about hiding behind an alt, I got a new phone and forgot to remove/re-add my tokens on new phones before wiping the old phone. Twiddling thumbs while waiting for a support ticket response.
You’ve made the game pretty much unplayable. Sure I could go to high sec and fly around in some bling ship and get GANKED in high sec while doing missions. Or mining or hauling etc. Nice high sec btw… real nice.
Then you completely screw up nul sec with drifters fleets attacking and poding everything. Nice way to stop a war.
Then you decide to dial the idiocy up to over 9000 and make nul sec like wormhole space.
I’m gone. Played since beta. Done. Good bye. This time when I came back I wanted some relaxing ratting and to enjoy the game a bit. Not even 2 months in you decide on nerfs and drifter fleets and now 0.0 has no local. Some may say “learn how to pvp” I say GSMD I pay for my game and play it my way.
It has been. Way too safe. So has the rest of the game.
I’m totally with you that the inherent risk in null is high. The game offers the most freedom for aggression. I’m also totally with you that player activity is required to control the risks, more so than in any other area of space.
However, players are really effective. Risk in null has been controlled so well, combined with mechanics changes, that the residual risk in most systems throughout a day, has been really low. Super capital umbrellas, Rorqual fleets, jump range limitations, citadels and asset safety, structure bashing mechanics, loss of passive income sources for Corporations that helped drive moon conflict, proliferation of super capitals for ratting, etc. it has all worked to discourage conflict. Both mechanics changes and player risk control together.
There is an argument that if you control risk well yourself, then good for you. I agree. On the flip side, if controlling risk becomes too easy, the risk of fights go down anyway as the hunters/pvpers etc. drift away to other activities, or from the game completely.
So the balance shifts and will always shift. This is a shift away from the recent history of development and hopefully the impact is positive for the game and it becomes more difficult to control risk, so others are encouraged back into the game. Those that control the risk effectively however, will still reap the benefits of that effort.
I don’t mind what the mechanic is, just that drivers for conflict stay in the game. Lowsec is a good example of what moon mining changes have done for alliance level conflict. There is essentially none anymore. Snuff v Shadow before the Casino War drove a lot of good fights over moons. Now the Rorquals mine the valuable moons because the groups have thinned out, making counter escalation hard, and they mine in peace, right in the middle of Gal-Cal FW space, because no small-medium gang can engage them. So they all just pass straight by.
So no problem leaving passive income out of the game, but new conflict drivers are needed to replace the ones removed.
I think a ganktard can be considered someone that requires no local to achieve a kill on a non-combat ship in nullsec. People suffering “mental retardation” (I changed it), Gankers and actual PVPer please don’t be offended.
I question whether that needs new conflict drivers, or whether Snuff and Shadow Cartell just moved on to picking different targets because there was less risk involved.
