Human eyes are the same tool we use to generate intel reports when local’s working, too.
As for OBS: you enlarge the section of client that shows the overview on the second monitor, and run it with a 5-second delay, set up to only show ships. Makes it really easy to see if something pops up, even for a moment. And, since you have it recorded, you can go back and get that moment and freeze-frame to get the info you need.
You do remember that we pretty much built the coalition on masochistic levels of weaponized autism, right?
This is one of the best changes I had seen in the short time of playing Eve Online as it enables the cover to allow players like me to give Nul sec a tryout.
I am for the first time trying to learn how to stealth bomb.
And gatecamps have failed to react to jumpers for… well, since gatecamps came to be. And gatecamps are a bit different to begin with. People get distracted and bored. They screw up paying attention and things go wrong. Constantly.
You don’t disappear from local the tick after you appear in it. And you know very well that the intel bots aren’t human either, and you will never convince anyone that somehow your area of space was the only one in all of Eve that didn’t rely on those bots.
ye i know groups that were using several instances of that to stream several areas all at once- think they had about 8 accounts all over their space for intel - though just watching whos in local chat.
Less viable atm but i suppose still has its uses.
Right, right. Literally the only area of space in Eve that only used human scouting. Sure. I believe that. You aren’t going to do the Security Team’s job without a paycheck, but you lot somehow policed those bots. Somehow and for some reason.
This is the most ridiculous claim you’ve ever made, that Delve of all places was intel bot free.
The blackout won’t stop bots. Bet they are already writing code for a cloaky bot that will monitor gate and send a whisper to the ratting bot every time a hostile enters. Or alpha clone bots that are free and can be placed every 14 au like a d-scan net that will overtax servers and cause all kinds of lag. cheaters will find a way to cheat even if its easier to just play by the rules its in their nature.
There is always an option to monitor the other or both sides of the gate - there is a definite delay when players jump in gate and gate itself will never fail to decloak them before they are jumping. That gives an ample timeframe for intel gathering.
You believe what you want to, Binky. Just remember that GSF didn’t even appear on the pie chart of shame. But don’t let CCP’s actual data get in the way of your narrative, hey?
Cloaky bot can’t do ■■■■ all about the guy logging in the Hunter they logged off yesterday at a deep safe. Losing instant intel on who is and isn’t in system is a huge problem for botters no matter how you slice it. You can’t script away the fact that you simply can’t know who else is in system with you at any given moment. Place as many bots on the gates as you want. You don’t know who got in before the scout did, or who else that covert cyno brings in too far off to be d-scanned.
For the same reason they were used literally everywhere else. Reliable intel. You don’t need “most of your members” for it, you don’t need an organized effort towards using them. You only need a few people wanting reliable intel and voila, it’s likely to happen. The more people in the region, the more likelihood of there being bad actors at that. Again, you spoke against policing your own ranks for ratting bots because you aren’t paid for it, but somehow you guys policed intel bots? Unlikely at best.
Intel bots are close to impossible to detect, but somehow you know Delve didn’t use them.
At the end of the day the blackout has made things a bit harder and somewhat more exciting, so for me its a positive thing. But truly believe its doomed to fail as too many people won’t stop whining till its changed back seen it too many times in too many games.
