You should read what you just said and maybe follow it.
So your position seems to essentially be, “If I can’t generate all the ISK I might need while AFK, I’m not even going to play the game.”
What’s anyone really supposed to say to that?

That is a crucial question! How long do players take part in this parody of mass-test run on regular server where they supposedly pay to play? Removing one of crucial game mechanics without any prior discussion with the community, without analyzing counter-play options is pathetic, CCP. This “event” looks like, say, World of Tanks developer would suddenly announce that tank turrets won’t rotate for an undisclosed period of time.
I think this is a beginning of EVE agony…let hunters vel ganktards camp each other with cloaky ships in empty space…

You have plenty of counterplay options. Make some friends with some w-space players and educate yourself on how to use the game’s many other mechanics to counter.
Local has very few counters and the ones people do use get you guys all in a froth. This game is not for the risk averse, so stop expecting it to be. This isn’t WoW.

Those skills are not exclusively beneficial to WH. They are universally beneficial in this game.
If you just want to be lazy and not learn, well, you won’t find much sympathy for that.

I am legally blind.
In order to interact with Eve, I have to make adjustments to resolutions and font sizes that would make most of you cringe. I run at 1024 x 768, and that’s pushing it on my eyes. I run 800x600 whenever possible in other apps / games.
Bottom line, I have precious little screen real estate.
Hacking windows take up my whole screen. As in, it’s not feasible for me to have a screen setup where I can easily d-scan while hacking.
So I will no longer be solo exploring in null-sec. I depend on local to know if / who is around. d-scanning every few seconds, the preferred methodology for (mostly) staying safe, is not an option given my screen limitations.
Honestly, my play time has been in a lull the past 6 months or so, and I was thinking about unsubbing until my heart’s back in the game in a couple of years. I think this change might finally be the impetus to disable auto-renew and bow out quietly in August.
I’m sure this will be a great change for most folks, and making the game much more exciting and dynamic in null sec. But not for someone who can’t afford the raw amount of screen real estate you all can. Heck, I don’t even like being in fleets just because of the crowding on my screen all the windows take up. 
Note that I’m not asking for it to be changed back. I’m just trying to provide a data point from an under-represented minority. Been doing it my whole life.

EDIT: No, multiple monitors do not help. I have to sit with my eyes 6-8 inches from the screen, and it is just not geometrically possible to place my head where I can get that close to two monitors at once.

The Blackout doesnt do much except remove a lot of the social aspect of the game - you dont feel like youre in a populated region, you cant say hi to buddies not in fleet, you cant even communicate with the people in the same mining anomaly since it jeopardizes you all, but basically it stops all communications with non fleet members as you move through systems - so you dont get to meet your friends, you dont get to find them unless you stay in frantic contact etc - the whole thing is just a big boring unsocial fad in my eyes - the enemy hasnt even been able to find me or provide me any useful content wether I won or not - if anything its just like “boom” youre dead haha you couldnt defend, counter, scout, surveill or anything - well, unless you had 5 alts with level 5 scanning probing and 5 screens and and and… so NO ccp - this was just pure CRAP - if people enjoy that kind of playstile we have wh space. If I wanted this I would go to wh space. if this becomes some kind of permanent thing I’m unsubbing 3 of my 4 subscribed accounts and asking 10 k other of my alliance members to do the same. I dont have time or spend my money to sit and be permanently annoyed and deprived of the few social links the game had other than outside game connection like mumble etc. sorry - but this just didnt work for me. Maybe if I had more energy this weekend I might have joined the roams but… as it is it failed utterly for me.
