Lets have a “Poll” who will be the last player to turn of the lights after leaving … Because EvE is DeD …
You should take it as a very strong indicator, specially considering CCP allowed the report to be posted as such; If the predicted that they would bring it back online sometime soon, I’m sure a few key things would be change like Concord is currently attempting to bring null sec communication online, with concord forward operation bases already being setup around the communication arrays.
Instead we get…: the Secure Commerce Commission has confirmed that the limitation on communications will be “maintained indefinitely due to the effects of both Drifter attacks and the ongoing Triglavian invasions on the security of supplies of Quantum-Entangled 4-Helium.”
Interesting, and also HAHAHHAHAHHA
you forget the “check box”
This is true then. CCP did decide that mining with 20+ capitals with enough implied safety as to not worry about losses is bad for the game. As people such as yourself cease to do this the price of goods should rise and the risk vs reward will come back into balance.
To evaluation if an experiment yields positive results one has to listen to the micro level from a diversity of players’ experiences. I do not own dreads, supers or titans but hopefully my perspective is equally important.
I started playing Eve Online approximately one year and five months ago, and investing in the game slowly. I still consider myself quite novice to the whole Eve experience. With it I am taking my time by skilling up different specialisations on a variety of alts (a fair number of omega accounts but without applying skill injectors). For new players out there, skilling up slowly provides one with a patient but robust game mechanic training.
Given that hi-sec is a very boring place (very repetitive pve), I moved to null-sec as soon as possible. Funnily enough the alliance I form part of provides more content than the developers. Now this event Null Local Blackout is forcing me to regress to a lower sec. Umbrella or not it has become extremely dangerous to earn isk through salvaging, subcap ratting or even mercoxit mining. In other words subcapital pve in null has been nerfed big time.
For the time being, my reaction to this “lore” event is neutral. I adapt to the changes by selling those ships which I will not be using - I won’t feed my ships (sorry hunters). The liquid isk will be partially invested in more pvp ships to defend my home, after all, I love pvp. At the same time two of my alts are subbed towards mining and industry specialisations and so in the long run if local will remain as it is they won’t be retained. I prefer unsubscribing two accounts then leaving my corp/alliance.
I leave it up to CCP to evaluate the impact of this change in all it’s totally. Thumbs up for the effort; shows that this game is truly continuously well invested upon.
I totally understand your point of view and I agree what you are saying.
subtle changes affect economy, too quickly and it will yield a result going the other way. If the intent is that, than the game is dead anyway. Think about how many simply stopped ratting? I do believe the economy report this month will be highly interesting. Think about supply and demand and the game as a whole.
How many total stop ratting, or how many bots stop ratting?
Yeah CCP is messing with the game “Meta” and not letting the players have the control how they want to play this game.
I tell you, I have played this game for well over 10 years. I have never posted this much on a forum. in fact, I do not think there have ever been this many posts to a forum in EvE history.
i don’t believe the -10% PCU was only bots coz there’s was bot reported during this weekend…
So glad they are doing this again I missed last years MTC offer
Apophenia
Still not seeing any issue with this. Ratting’s faucet into the economy was utterly obscene and needed to be culled very badly. A drying up of minerals and raw isk will do nothing but greatly benefit the game as a whole.
lol, if the intent of CCP was to get people to stop playing for a undefined period, than they succeeded in getting me out of the game and on this forumn.
Agree …
Incorrect, unless there is demand for the minerals, the mineral price change will continue to drop.
And I’m not saying it was. I’m saying we don’t know yet. We need more data, and more data takes more time.
