Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread

So, basically by “actually living in null” you mean to be a goon’s blood bag tenant?
Nice one.

Gesundtheit.

Or was that a seizure? Do you smell toast?

Do you need us to call an ambulance?

Theres’ an article up somewhere about blowing up all the supers, just make it part of the drifter war and reset everyone back to subcaps. Since more people don’t have supers than those who do, its an example where a majority of players don’t have a vested interest would be pitted against those who do, despite it potentially making the game better.

I saw a bot last night - de-cloaked next to it and tackled it whilst it tried to align. It never tried to lock & shoot us but after it was killed the pod insta-warped to a safe.

This Character was in a Corp that was part of an Alliance.
I don’t think self policing by corps and alliances is working

  • Maybe a BOT TAX levied against Alliance fees & Corporate offices.

If your alliance / Corp had to pay for 12 months from the date of the ban & per Bot Ban:

  1. An addition 100million in Alliance fees per Bot Ban
  2. Each Corpoate Offices of the offending corp had a 25 mill / month surcharge

Lets encourage self-policing

IMO as far as Goons go Arrendis is probably one of the more honest and open minded.
I don’t always agree with what Arrendis says but will never doubt the genuineness with which it is said. Different beliefs don’t make someone wrong

I’ve lived in nul for many years, I’ve been in many alliances including Goons, PL, NC, even tried out Horde and Test.
I believe as Arrendis stated - No-one can evaluate Nul without trying it out - It may like it did for me take years to find the right place to call home (which i now have) but you can’t judge something without trying it.

Goons is just one part of a very big picture - As a group I hate them with a passion (aside from when i was in the alliance i have been at war with them) but that does not mean they are wrong in how they play the game - Really all it means is, as a group they took advantage of what CCP gave us all and made it work for them - Too well yes but that is not their fault alone, the rest of Eve AND CCP allowed it to happen.

Don’t blame the player for doing what is “easy” (join Goons) when the game designers helped create the situation.,.

No worries, I have nothing against goons and Arrendis personally. But it indeed seems rather funny: reprehending someone while essentially doing exactly the same.

Interesting idea but just how do you get all the supers to undock to allow themselves to be “blown up” by drifters?

I know myself, I’m not undocking my super while drifters are so OP - So unless CCP want to introduce a way for them to “blow up” while docked - It ain’t gonna happen.

Best solution for Supers - CCP buys back every blueprint to build them (at the right prices). Completely stopping production of them is the only way to stop the over supply of them.

Once production is halted - Remove ALL Supers from the economic reports - Remove any and all isk value they have from the game. People are not using them for anything more than “fuk you” value so make that their only value.

Changes to Supers;
Supers can’t shoot NPC’s
Supers can no longer dock in Keepstars although they can tether to a keepstar if it is owner by their alliance (they can’t tether to any other structure).
Supers can not use gates.
Double fatigue for jumping a Super - Put Fatigue on the ship not the pilot (to stop the use of multiple pilots to move Supers quickly)

Make Supers so rare and valuable they don’t figure into day to day game play.
NB; I’ll keep mine as a keepsake, never to be logged in again.,.

Nope. I don’t advocate renting at all. Get some friends. Take some space. Hold it. Stand on your own two feet.

Except I’m not a renter. You shouldn’t be, either. Don’t let someone else profit from your work.

Any idea where?

Thus, effect of blackout on pvp is barely noticeable.

Unlike its effect on PCU, which is updating two year minimums as we speak, and spiraling towards decade-minimums.

Ok jut logged in one of my alts…
Only 4 people out of an alliance online…
Nothing to do with a group of people
One random pilot shows up in an assault frig tackled another random then another random goes into a free for all then all three pilots die. Nothing to engage in the blackout nothing to do press V did some combat scanner probing no one online besides myself an 2 other players, Members in corp not logging after day 2 because nothing to do have to travel up the pipeline to get to potential content by which will be gone or dead before arrival.
scanned down some sigs to see what the signatures are then warped to the pinpointed signatures to see if there is any targets in the sites found nothing.
ave a carrier not care if it blows u never want to use it because of being able to rat faster in a sub cap/
tried ratting was boring never anything on dscan no one is home.
scanned around looking for a wormhole maybe find something none spawned where i looked.
waited for maybe more people to be online did not happen.
went out with nullified t3 went hunting found nothing.
read in intel channel an fleet of someone tackled began traveling to the fight arrive target already dead was only a T3D of 4.
left location went hunting more hoped to find a suitable target found nothing.
Moved few more systems dscan reported 2 mining barges discovered they are tethered to a structure.
joined a gate camp stayed with gate camp for 2 hours nothing happened gate camp breaks off i moved on…
Before the blackout i had more action than after the blackout some players may love it yet local had a purpose.
one fleet i was with had more blue ships coming in at one fight an with dscan only no one knows what ship is what with who is in it no matter what type of communication…
null sec be ore dangerous say ppl say well it is now boring as hell to be in null …
null sec blackout is a bit short sited for the F1 GET A COOKIE players it is the same wash rinse repeat statements from the pvp dedicated players ( btw many of the so called dedicated pvp players also run HS alts to generate isk very common )
There was a time in eve where null sec players went to high sec to make isk because some aspects of eve online did not exist the way players see it now in null.
I am not for nor against the null blackout however it is very boring a greater period of time than before the black out.
I see eve as a video game which is all an imaginary world any achievements in eve online is not worth any value in real life.
Players choose the desired play style an then you have the players which want to force one style only down a player until the player gives into the peer pressure to end the toxic behavior very common with a single group play style.

It is amazing how when y works are
EVE ONLINE IS 16 YEARS OLD AN ALL GAMES COME TO AN END EVENTUALLY
never stated eve is ding must be that player thinking eve is ding in the addiction denial rationalization.

Online Video Gaming Addiction do have symptoms…
nothing players say in here will make any changes to the product.

too easy an too boring

No it’s not. Saturday we were 3k below the previous week. Now we’re 1500 down. Today, for the first time since the test started, we’re only 7% below non-blackout conditions. As predicted: first you get the system shock, then it starts to recover. That’s why you need 3 weeks of blackout data.

I read somewhere that the subscriptions dropped by 6K no sure if that is accounts characters connections money or what only what i read was not very clear about the drop …

Well, since CCP hasn’t released those numbers, and they’re the only ones who have them, that sounds to me like you read someone making up total ■■■■■■■■. It also sounds like you believe waaaay too much of what you read on unreliable sources like Reddit.

And please, learn how paragraphs work. Reading your posts is almost like hitting myself in the head with a hammer.

The relative delta in kills vs the average of the preceding two months is actually larger, both in absolute numbers and percentage, than the relative delta in concurrent users over the same period.

i stated i do not know any of what that translate into off the google translate website believe anything about eve online nah is is all imaginary an you are not even real,
your avatar is only software an pixels therefore all of the information in here is not real .
all imaginary
Anyone can create an image to post in here an anywhere yet it is all imaginary for none of is were there in person to witness nothing more than imaginary information passed back an forth from one source to another
However i do post a challenge question to all of you:
How would all of you feel IF an now entertain this question for I am very curious as to how all of you wold feel about IF

EVE ONLINE ended one day when you walk over to login one day?

Be honest an not the imaginary AVATAR all of you play as the ‘bad a s s’ in all of eve online…
How would that make all of you feel.
seriously
To me eve is meaningless a part of the past nothing more …
Imaginary nothing real…
As the HUMAN playing eve how would you feel?

Not regarding the fact that being awesome as i am, even i wouldn’t go to the such extent of hubris thinking that i could possibly take and hold sov space entirely by myself, the outcome is essentially the same: access to resources. Which being achieved either by paying some isk or spending time organizing some people (who are entirely redundant in this scheme). Which both will subsequently result in some effort being spent. Given the fact that money are much easier to manage than people, at least for me, more simple scheme here is favorable.

I for one will cancel both of my accounts if the blackout keeps up for one more week
