Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread

If you want Local, LowSec and HighSec are waiting for you. :stuck_out_tongue:

LoL, yep.
Only real sad thing is that fear begets fear for the masses. They’ll hear their buddy cry, start crying themselves, ship-spin instead of actually going out and finding out how much safer they are. Or how much better both hunting and defending are because no-one can get that lazy intel, so defenders will see you soon as your decloak timer runs out or you move, or… if they’re horrible they’ll have a fleet move in and not notice, which is their screw up so they deserve to die.

This sounds like you’re going to break your own game. If you’re trying to get people to stay this is not a good way to keep them. You might want to rethink this before you put it into place… Get woke Go Broke.

So again, the the target get the short end of the stick. Industrialists and miners will pay the price, no one else. Been playing this game for 13 years, I think that’s the worst announcement so far.

Why do you think so?

if you want NO LOCAL wormholes are waiting for you, stop imposing your playstyle on others, go enjoy what is already there, i dare you

I love how everyone is literally losing their minds and ā€œunsubingā€ but like really? Why are you so upset when the devs bring awesome exciting content?
Thank you CCP for this. It’s going to be fun! And hey, if it causes the crybabies to quit, then it’s for the best.

Actually I have run some L1-3 abyssals AND I’ve done gas and explo in WH space too. I play ALL aspects of the game. How much mining do you do? or explo? I enjoy PVP as well. I run a SINGLE account and work my ass off to make a little isk. Got on a moon and mined one load of decent ore before the seasoned players dropped with their porpoise’s, orcas and rorqs cleaning the place out before I could get a second load!!! So the game IS tough and I like it! Much tougher than HS/LS space so don’t assume we’re all cry babies out here. I’ve lost ships a plenty to explo, mining and pvp. I spent hours figuring out the different parts of the game. If this game needs fixed it’s in the fact that no IP address should be allowed more than 2 characters logged in at one time!!! Or that CCP actually offers PLEX packages in the $500 range! NOW THATS BROKE!

Am am now going to resub 5 accounts. High was boring, low is amusing at time, null was boring and WH’s were too much work.

This spices things up a good deal. I am dusting off ALL SORTS of hulls I never thought I would use again.

because it’s ā€œexciting contentā€ only in some people’s point of view, it’s destructive to those people complaining, they are players too and deserve respect too.

you are literally in the coalition that has the least to lose from this change, did you think before posting?

i for one am looking forwards to seeing the pubbies scream out when they realised they weren’t careful enough about what they were wishing for; this is going to be the best change ever.

Better way to say that right now…

If you want no local… come to either Jspace or nullsec (possibly for a limited time)! it’ll be a blast and much safer for people who aren’t retarded, or aren’t running bots!

You really do not know how to play the game do you? You can dscan, while cloaked very small sections of space and depending on the anomaly, know where someone is without using probes. CovertCloaked Bomber with CovertCyno, cloaky dscan. This is what is done in Nullsec now and it is nearly impossible to counter. I am not saying impossible, because you can defend with 200 people, Cyno jammer and dreads, however this not practical. You can have a 50 man group of ships and they can get 10k from you and CovertCyno in 200. There is no practical counter to blops, and this is all Nullsec will become without local.

Welcome back, and fly dangerous. Maybe we’ll meet

being in a big coalition doesn’t mean an umbrella is always there for you nor that you enjoy being in fleet 24/7, some people like to be alone while not in ops.

Hadn’t left yet, since my subs were all 6 month basis. I was gone in September.

Not now though, they are getting turned back on.

then those people who are not participating in the supercap umbrella can die quietly off comms

I just don’t know. I really don’t.
If you look at some of the GD threads, Solstice and I, while we have locked horns on many issues, have concluded in agreement that Eve’s greatest detriment to date is that it has become a ā€œfarmers’ gameā€. Almost to the point of being ā€œFarmville in spaceā€.

This change? This takes everything we said, balls it up, and shoves it right up our collective butt.

This is going to be almost the end of botting and mindless farming. Almost I say, because they will adapt. They ā€œplayā€ like their rents depend on it - because it does and I refer not only to the nullsec system they are renting, but also their crappy apartments.

They will all go to highsec, and then CODE. will have a field day with them. And it will serve them right. Botters and mindless farmers have been killing Eve since 2014. And that includes the nullsec ā€œresponseā€ just for being there. You know, when you pop out of a wormhole to see what’s up, and a fleet of BLOPs or supers shows up because some script somewhere picked you up in local.

I just might resub.

Dumb idea - if I wanted to WH, I’d go live in a WH and go have control of my ingress/egress points. You alienate all of null to satisfy your high/low sec pubbies. GF CCP …
