Main AFK cloaky thread

Who are you to assume what is and isn’t worth my time? Nobody. Stop making assumptions about people you don’t know. I’ve been playing this game for a long time, kiddo. Your problems are nothing new, and nothing you can’t deal with in-game, which is why the problem won’t be dealt with by somebody else. It’s that simple. Your whining is for nought.

So why do you think it’s ok for a player who is afk, or a bot, to have any effect on the game? Answer that.

They’re not having an affect on the game. They’re having an affect on you. That makes it a personal problem.

Players are part of the game.

I would do something different but i’m currently cloaked up and waiting, so while im afk i thought i’d play on the forums.

That’s such nonsensical reasoning. By your reasoning, you’re part of the game and you’re a problem with it by virtue of irritating me. Please biomass.

Remiel I do not agree with you from time to time, but on this I agree. Nothing wrong with how cloaking works, CCP would do well to leave it be.

Other games beg for having cloaking abilities. Here in EVE we have it and … players who cannot get their head around it, but instead complain. :weary:

A single player in hostile space needs some semblance of protection, going through gates and camps or holes is danger enough, if the person has cyno on board then content creation is incoming.

It’s not nonsensical, it’s reality.

If you come park in a system I rat in and immediately go AFK. I now have to spend a considerable amount of time to set up a bait with multiple other people, which will not even achieve anything since you are AFK, in an attempt to get you out of the system. What did you have to do to have that effect? Jump a few systems and go to sleep. That is not balanced gameplay.

No, the reality is there’s a difference between a problem with the game, and a personal problem that you have the tools to deal with yourself within the game itself. You can deal with cloaky campers yourself, especially if they’re afk.

I pointed out earlier that wormholers don’t have this problem. The reason they don’t have this problem is because the only reason you know someone new is in your system is because of local chat. If there is a problem with the game here, it’s local chat in nulsec. That’s it. Otherwise, everyone is playing the game with available mechanics, and the affect someone is having on you by parking up in the system is an affect they are having on YOU and only you. Whether they’re afk or not is irrelevant, there are no rules in the game about going afk. Not a game problem, a personal problem. Capiche? You have the tools to deal with it yourself, so when you come in here and beg mummy and daddy to hold your hand and do it for you, you warrant little more than ridicule, and you should be ashamed.

This is ‘EVE Online’, not ‘My First Spaceship Game’.

Wow you just type that. You rent/own one system? Or do you set a gate camp and jump out wait for the camper to follow? if he does not follow then your good to rat for a while or until he jumps into system. Then you jump back etc etc loads of counters to campers.

No I can’t because I can’t locate them.

You don’t have to locate them.

I do if i want to kill them. Or I have to get them to come to me. I can’t do either if they are AFK.

If you want to kill them, sure. But killing them is not the only way of dealing with them. And if they’re afk, they’re not a threat.

Look, there’s that ‘afk’ again. If you know they’re afk, they’re not a threat. If you don’t know they’re afk, then stop calling them afk, because every time you do, it’s going to be pointed out to you that they’re not a threat. Define the ‘problem’ better, or stop whining about it.

Well it takes a lot of time to determine whether they are AFK, and that still doesn’t help when they finally decide to play again, and this is the problem.

Give me one good reason why you shouldn’t be required to be at your keyboard when in enemy territory.
