Make Battleships Great Again

Not asking for this even if this is the case cruiser would still be getting places sooner than a battleship due their mobility, moving battleship closer to BC warp speed is needed however.

For them to be better sure change in warp speed is needed like with battlecruisers and proven way of minor change improving ship class significantly enough.
Other aspect of changes to BS can be explored as well but this one matter due to huge QoL improvements that it self carry without scewing game balance.

Other than your BS shouldn’t warp as fast as cruiser statements you post now and then not much of arguments are coming this way from you for me to continue answering you.

A cascade change of warp speed will directly result in proportionally less target reaction time.

The change will have more impact than just ā€œQoL for BSā€.

Change doesn’t exist in vacuum yes, but most impact would be felt on class it self this isn’t nothing new CCP made adjustments before…new eden didn’t implode on it self.

It is worth to mention that BS that can warp faster than many and mach cruiser warp speeds was considered cancerous enough to get nerfed did not received warp speed nerf,and what is discussed here wouldn’t even challenge that ship AU/s.

I would love a T2 version of BSes that have no current tech 2 version. Would love to have a Tech 2 rail Rokh.
Cyno inhibitor? Yes
Mini-doomsday? No

Maybe a specific module for this new class that targets drones and fighters.
Toss in a faster cool down timer for MJDs so you have a BS that can reposition itself rapidly on the battlefield.

Limiting the number of ships per cyno just means caps bring cynos with them… making it harder to put a stopper on the leak.

So what exact change are you proposing?

Other than copy paste buff in warp speed Battlecruisers received none at all until i see CCP is genuinely interested in making a balance pass on a class as a whole and extent of those.

So BS would warp at 2.7AU, like BC?

I dont think matching BC warp speed would be good idea my wording was wrong rather moving them from 2AU/s

As i stated in my 1st post here t1 2.2 AU/s t2 2.5 AU/s or there about.

Thanks for re-stating it.

I agree that just a BS change is preferable to a universal AU change, as having less universal/complicated impact.

I think 2.2 is workable for T1.
For T2, I’d counter propose 2.4.

Squeezes BCs a bit though…

Keeps the increase standardized, and roughly mirrors other T1/T2 at a 0.3 increase, but as 0.2 on BS.

I’ve been on these and they are awesome. We got around 5 dreads gating and rest of us were in magi/other (15ish) With dreads you gotta be real careful where you are roaming otherwise you might just get dropped like 50 titans. So with that in mind we headed directly in to the grid of the enemy keep and an awesome fight ensured.

Tl;Dr Roams with dreads are fun

Battleships were fine when they warped the same as everything else. As far as I can recall, nobody ever complained about BS warp speeds, or asked for a nerf to BS warp speeds.

The biggest problem I have with this nerf is, it is a nerf intended to make the hull more unpleasant to use, and to purposefully drive people away from the hull. That’s bad design for a game - to make it, or elements of it, more un-fun for no particularly good reason. If a nerf is ever needed for any hull, any module, any unit or any ANYTHING, there are plenty of other possible nerfs that could be considered without going down the route of ā€œmake this thing more un-fun so people don’t use it.ā€

More and more Eve Online is being tailored so that only those who break the laws, such as gankers, would be allowed to have any fun.

What about a T3 battle cruiser that can mix weapons such as Cruise Missile and Light Missile launchers that would have bonuses for each plus a decent amount of tank capabilities that could support a battle ship roam?

I would keep most pirate au speeds in line with the T1 counter parts with the Nestor increased to 2.7 and mach as it is.

Increasing the speed from 2 to 2.2 is acceptable, I would rally for 2.3 for t1 and 2.5 for t2, however what you suggested is fine as well.

Tieing RL navel classifications to space ships don’t always work. Also many of the ā€œrolesā€ you posted are already in game, they are the tech 2 versions. (They named different to throw off people)

Then use IRL naming classifications and use T2 variants of the IRL variants to give more depth and strategic value.

Higher quality ships (T2) = Better ships. Simple.

Why, names are fine as they are. What reason should we change them? Also linking ships from the 1800 won’t help anyone.

The links are to show IRL classes of ships that exist or did exist and could therefore be integrated into the game without much confusion.

If you buff Battle ships, they are cancer, if you nerf them in any way they suck and no one wants to play them and CCP has a serious problem balancing ANYTHING.

So lets simplify things. :slight_smile:

You wont even have to rename everything and change all the classes, just a few and add a few more.
