[March] Jumping and Tethering Changes

True. Good thing that the structure is gunnable and the jump invulnerability lasts 60 seconds. If you can’t blunder into docking in such a generous time frame, I’m not sure what to say.

And CCP still has yet to release Corp/Alliance update.
Plus they are not outside their power to make changes.

You are invulnerable for 60s after jumping. You just need to press Dock after your session change timer ends.

It’s pretty crazy how many posters ITT don’t understand basic Eve mechanics such as “jump invulnerability,” “session change timer,” and “potatoes are an inappropriate platform for gaming.”

I echo the concerns of people about jump freighters. If your connection takes a ■■■■ or something else causes an issue that you don’t dock immediately, even for just a second, you are completely boned since you cannot dock once target locked/pointed. I think it is entirely reasonable to apply this change to combat caps, but it should not apply to jump freighters.

no leave tethering alone

So the same as if you jump to a station? How was JFing possible before citadels!

You still have full 60 seconds of invulnerability to load grid, find citadel you’re on (should be easy, they’re huge) and click “Dock”. If you disconnect immediately after jump, it’s no different from disconnecting on station - you’ll get probed on emergency warp out and killed away from citadel/station guns. You don’t need to do anything immediately, there’s more than enough time to stay safe.

No solid info on that yet. I assume for now you can’t get tether for 30 seconds after breaking jump invulnerability (due to timeout or issuing command), and spending some part (or all) of that time in warp to structure might be a way to work around said changes. If so, it’s not that different from old cynoing into a system and then warping to POS.

Will a uStruct allow tethering after a warp even if the 30 seconds has not passed yet? For example, a ship or fleet cynos into system then warp to a uStruct. If 30 seconds has not passed since invuln was broken and warp initiated will the tethering still be delayed?

Thanks!

drones do not work

You have 60seconds of invuln after a jump. The tether timer doesn’t count down until AFTER you do something to break invuln, at which point you can instantly dock.

But this means that ships like Jump freightors can still move with ZERO risk across the galaxy, this change is a step in the right direction, but its scope is simply too small to matter.

but guess there will be special NCPL once who are tethering no matter what the NCPL pilot did before?

they’ll just dock to their keepstars and won’t care

CCP - making eve unplayble for small groups since quantum rise.

Will there be any modication to how the fatigue changes apply to POS bridges?

The problem is if they are target locked they can’t dock, so any kind of connection stutter or distraction (kids, cat/dog, etc…) can result in a JF getting killed by getting caught by an interceptor and being unable to dock. Ever been killed on a gate because a session change to go to the next system wouldn’t go through? Yeah. That.

Incorrect. They need to be pointed.

You have sixty seconds of invulnerability after jumping. Ignore your kids or dog for the ten seconds it might take to make sure you are docked.

Docking is more reliable than taking a gate.

I think the tether timer should be bound to the access list, so that if you jump to a structure you are on the access list marked for quick tether, you would be tethered as soon as your JF lands on grid. I would isolate combat capitals and rorquals from the quick tether list, regardless of access list status.

What this would do is that, if you land on some random stranger’s structure your JF has to wait the timer, but you can protect your own ship bit better at your own home.
