So to be honest, it entirely depends on the implementation. Bringing more players to the EVE Universe gives us an opportunity to convert them into capsuleers which means more people in space for us; a net positive. But if the defense / attacking component of Vanguard players was OP regarding their impact on the battle occurring in EVE Online, then that wouldn’t be something I’d immediately support.
A neat idea and one that, in the right balance, I would support
Shout out to my boy Mick, he is one of the most liked peoples in c5 space. If you are a w/her btw or even a day tripper Mick is a solid choice for representation. He actually cares about w/h space, If anyone can save us he can!
Sounds like a sensible and grounded approach to maintaining and improving our little niche.
If I could table one query: this sounds like the focus is weighted somewhat towards the high-end groups. How will you serve the interests and health of smaller and low-class groups that lend much of the vibrance to each K162 we find, but have little actual pull or name-recognition?
Ive seen Mick wherever he went in WH-Space. Always a friend and actively involved as well as seeking good fights. Without a doubt one of the best choices for a wormhole CSM there is.
Last year I asked eight questions and then compiled the answers into a huge mega-thread. It was massive. With the exception of MILINT_ARC_Trooper, no one had a thread bigger than mine, to be fair MILINT_ARC_Troopers’ thread was so weighty and knowledgable it teetered on the edge of collapsing into its’ own core.
That catalogue of replies is now a time-capsule and encapsulated within are the hopes and disappointments that CSM 18 candidates considered worth speaking about during the year of EVE’s 20th anniversary.
The responses gave voters en masse an opportunity to test and compare each hopeful CSM 18 candidates commitment to their claims of being community oriented, knowledgable, responsive and representative of player values. Given that the CSM does not directly control any aspect of EVE’s development and that the successful candidates are those that can identify existing and future consequences, co-operate with other CSM members, and communicate issues -from a player perspective- to CCP staff one-to-one, I’ve formulated a set of questions designed to seperate the compressed ORE from the Long-Limb Roes in this years election race.
Year-on-year the Independent Representatives, Solo players with single accounts, Worm Holers, Triangle People, Semi-nomadic Role-Playing Sandbox Explorers, and Salvagers, have been organising and gaining traction against the self-secure Null-Bloc Empire Candidates and their vast hordes of leather-skinned, evil, flying-monkeys. More-and-more players are choosing to vote in members they believe can positively impact CCP’s approach to the game regardless of their in-game affiliations.
Exposure matters, who are you, what is your clue?
As was the process last year I will post each candidates reply in a super thread, first-in first-served.
This years questions:
What ONE identifiable consequence requires CCP’s attention?
What PROVABLE evidence can you supply to support your belief in this situation?
What practical, and balanced change can be made to support a solution if any?
What support do your observations have from other CSM candidates?
How will you present your findings to CCP?
If you have already identified and spoken about a problem in your CSM candidacy bio at the top of this thread feel free to copy pasta that response where applicable. I’ll copy paste directly from your response to this post. Choose your goblet…. wisely.
Let the games begin, and may the odds ever be in your favour.
It’s so important to have as many good representatives on the CSM as possible who vouch for the interests of our playstyle. There’s sometimes this weird artificial divide between high class and low class residents, and I love to see Mick intentionally reaching out to all types of wormholers to get a full perspective.
Mick Fightmaster is on my ballot, and he sure as hell should be on yours, too.
Look, do y’all ever look up at the stars? Like agent K telling agent J its time to move on in the first MIB film? I’m telling you its time to move on from the normal BLOC affiliated nullsec CSM candidate and help my WH friends get some whole ass representation!
The CSM should be a diverse and reputable group of independent thinkers and let me tell you @Mick_Fightmaster is about as unique as a shiny metopod in a grass field outside pallet town ya feel? The reality of eve online right now is, CSM has always been the same thing, everyone is fighting for a BLOC ticket spot to have relevance and the people representing the smaller niches of the eve online sandbax, sadly, get shoveled to the bottom.
Team, please vote for this dude, he is the right kind of candidate for CSM.
He is the J to my K.
Team, my name is @Rots_Mijnwerker pet of a Dalmatian named Russel, and he approves this message.
While I myself live in high class, I have been meeting with several groups that live in low class to make sure I understand their needs and can provide the representation they need.
As always, my DMs are open for scheduling more meeting times so if you have an idea of a group who may be interested in having a chat, shoot my info their way or feel free to pass to me and I’ll reach out.
I’ve been lucky enough to fly with Mick in multiple corps over the last 6 years. He’s represented both content and community, from line member to director, and has always been true to his values. I could not think of a better person to advocate for the wormhole community.
I’ve been really impressed with his interviews to date and the outreach work he’s done speaking to groups across the political spectrum in wormhole space. I know he’s someone who can be relied upon to put what’s best for the space above what’s best for him.
Mick visited us (small Wh low-class corp) yesterday and I can say one thing:
He is seriously campaigning. He knows his stuff. And his interest in ALL Wormhole people not just the high-class seems very very legit.
He also has already some good ideas on his mind.
His most important Job know is:
Get the whole WH-Community behind his campaign because otherwise we end up like many many times in the past = without any represantation at all
Thank you all for your responses and votes of confidence. I’ve gone ahead and updated my original post to include the interviews completed to date. Special face cam edition last night!
As always if you or your groups would like to discuss wormholes / EVE please setup some time with me and we’ll chat about it. Discord is the easiest way to contact me.
