Please point out where the ISD called you out personally. Or take a Quaalude. Or whatever it is you do to calm down.
They did by removing my post, not the spam.
Do they even make those anymore?
It could have just been an oversight. Do you think they read all 300 new posts in a thread before acting? Probably not.
Yeah. I guess I’m showing my age, aren’t I?
I’ll always be here to wheel you to the pond so that you can feed the ducks.
Why write that then, if they don’t even read the hidden posts?
Do they just assume that Balos wrote some valid opinion and I just flagged it? That’s pretty bad mod work.
I also still don’t understand why have this “off-topic” rule and flag option at all, when flagging clear off-topic posts is not something that is condoned.
Why not just remove it then?
Don’t do it in L.A; some bugger will steal the wheels and leave him on bricks the moment you turn your back.
As Hank Hill would say: “you want it done fast, or you want it done right?”
BWAAAAAAH
BOBBEH
They explained why they do that earlier in the same thread you are working yourself into a lather over.
Also, considering
Why then write that people should not use the flagging option? The opinions that were challenged, were still off-topic. If the flagging system is not useful, then change the function and rules.
Forum regulars are bound to engage each other on multiple threads. That’s not the same thing as purposefully, conscientiously following them around to other threads to harass them. That would require the accused stalker of constantly review the supposedly victim’s public forum profile (which can be made private, by the way) to see which were the latest posts made. Furthermore, just because accused stalker trolls supposed victim in one thread doesn’t mean the same thing is happening in other threads if there is a debate on actual points rather than ad hominem attacks. On that matter, chronic heated disagreements is not the same thing as trolling.
I’m challenging the opposing messages we have gotten from ISD in a thread clearly meant for this type of discussion.
What the ■■■■ is up your ass?
Count to ten, bro. Just count to ten.
Can I not raise questions about this?
It’s fine, dude. I think they simply botched the mod job in that thread. It’s not like you were warned or anything.
Maybe. But talking about this will result in a better forum, cause we figure out what the root issues are.
Maybe the off-topic rule should be revised. Maybe the flagging option should be removed. Maybe how the flagging feature works should be revised. Maybe ISD procedures should be changed.
Raising questions and working towards solutions is what will improve this forum. Not this front war we have going.
@Jayce_Fitzpatrick sorry you feel that way. All the ISD here are volunteers and falable. In this case, there were a number of flags on one particular individual. This resulted in some of their posts being hidden due to the large number of flags. While a subset of the flags were valid and upheld, most were not. Each flag was treated as an individual instance for me so, in the instance you are referring to where the user posted the same item multiple times due to it being hidden, I rejected the flag on all of them then manually hid the extra posts.
In general we do our best to err on the side of openness rather than heavy handed moderation but I appreciate what some people see as openness others see as leniency. Likewise, what some people see has heavy handedness, others see as not strict enough.
Please continue to use the flag system as it is the best way of getting a moderator to take a look at the issue.
im with @Jayce_Fitzpatrick on that
the other day i busted my ass to make a humorous collage on paint brush , had a meaningful interaction with some members of the forum, just to have all the posts deleted from history in one topic cleansing ,it was maybe a bit of topic but nothing mean or political etc… interactions and humor are important , raising questions to , sometimes the river have to curve to continue his path
Looking at the unflagged posts, I still think it’s not consistent with your forum rules.
First off, there still is a duplicate of the spammed posts. The first one that should be unflagged is the one after Dracvlads post. 4 posts down the same exact post is made.
Secondly. If you’ve unflagged the initial post and then cleaned the spam. Why are the following posts relevant and still there?
no arguments left so the flagging starts?
stop the flagging abuse…
And because of YOU are done talking about it you abuse flagging so nobody else can?
Who are you?
The overlord of the forum?
The last quote is a response to the deleted post, so how is this a relevant unflag?
Just pointing out inconsistencies in your modding. If you are strict enough to remove a post where I express desire to end a discussion because it’s off-topic and not constructive, then please be equally strict to everyone.
