On top of that it makes very little sense to use a currency that is as volatile and unstable as crypto, on top of the extra effort and costs involved when dealing with it.
Volatility is managable, stop with this myth that it is too volatile for payments, itâs already used for payments and growing, and there is more than one coin that payment processors can handle, as for costs, payment processors already cost, as do commerical bank accounts, they convert it on payment, they donât sit with the thing, money in the bank, short term payment settlement, thatâs what a currency does
Just because itâs used doesnât mean it makes sense for businesses that arenât looking for risk but instead want stable income. Gambling and drugs are also âusedâ, itâs still dumb to do.
They settle on point of sale, they donât âplay the chartsâ and the payment processors can easily manage volatility and do.
You think CCP is going to sit on BTC? They settle for EUR or whatever their fiat currency of choice is, the payment processor converts it for them at the point of sale, then money in the bank.
Or like, get a real job
When the crypto cost gets adjusted the whole time people will start to whine going âI paid less 3 months agoâ. Itâs just not worth the hassle, as stated before people will pay with other currencies just fine. Stop being a special snowflake with your clown threads.
Gamer says⌠get a real job, nice oxymoron.
If I could pay for EVE with cocaine, I would.
I guess thatâs why the North American Bitcoin Conference stopped accepting payment in Bitcoin, huh. 'Cause itâs so easy and successful. Stripe gave up a few years ago, and Steam couldnât handle all the growth, either. So successful, and so many honest and legitimate use cases. To the moon!
Maybe CCP just donât wanna contribute to one of the biggest global polluters?
They promote flying about in airplanes to meetups and gigs.
Not very clean is it.
Donât be childish. You donât have to be perfectly carbon neutral to make ecological decisions.
ok let me switch off this computation rig then⌠just because CCP dun accept payment, hell no
Itâs going to spin those fans whether it be on Bitcoin or BIONIC, either way those fans gona spin.
Thatâs a non-sequitur.
Because you donât seem to get how payment with it works
The processor takes the risk and manages volatility, payment is settled in fiat at the point of sale, itâs just a settlement / payment method. Payments are generally locked for a fixed expirey time.
Same with those payment cards, it converts prior to the spend at the point of sale, just with at the sending end rather than receiving end.
I donât want to legitimize any sort of âfunny munnyâ payment methods that social insurgents use to try to undermine public order. Too many such groups operate under the guise of âfreeing people from oppressionâ when all theyâre doing is trying to take control of others in order to be even more oppressive with their own rules.
Nice one, I remember that Bitcoin slogan: âDonât be your own bank! More middlemen!â
Wait, that doesnât sound right.
