Lol that gank, nah that was no pvp

It’s generally considered bad sportsmanship to try to disparage your opponents victory after being bested so thoroughly

But it’s only pixels, metaphysics say there is no victory but that in one’s mind. We are all victors.

Okay… Just saying you don’t win any points for being a bad sport. A ‘GF’ is best for not appearing butthurt.

Except when it wasn’t a good fight, then insisting on them saying good fight just makes one a douche.
Ganking is pretty much PvE, Concord are your main opponents, lets not pretend otherwise. It’s a simple maths exercise in 99% of ganks, the work is in the logistics side, and simply being able to multibox enough accounts.

How wasn’t it a good fight? Kusion landed his cat fleet majestically and then blew his freighter right into the dumpster. Sounds like a really good fight to me, one he won handily.

How is it pve? It’s our spaceships vs their spaceships. What you want to say is its an unfair fight, but that exists throughout the whole game, its very rare for a “fair” fight.

You need to harden up like a good carebear or maybe try a single player game if eve isnt for you

None of which makes you appear any less butthurt, Nevyn.

Yeah… And trying to spin this as me being butthurt is even sillier than your normal.
I’m utterly uninvolved other than applauding the expensive pod kill in high sec, serves him right for afk.
But that doesn’t make it a good fight, a good fight is one where the outcome was actually in doubt, not a dunk or gank.
And when you worry more about the target ship killing you than concord then I’ll believe it’s not primarily a PvE exercise.

Not trying to spin anything, brother. Just saying that posts like these only serve to make you seem more butthurt, not less.

Going to have to disagree with the general principle you’re trying to apply here. In EVE the preparation and maneuvering before the ships arrive on grid together and activate weapons often determines the outcome of the fight, but that exchange of move and counter-move is still very much a PvP encounter. The only reason this fight was never in doubt is because the target of the gank was a helpless perma-victim whose only conceivable response to a PvP threat is to whine on the forums and demand that it be removed, not because of anything to do with ganking in general.

[narrows eyes]

I’mma get me one of those one day. And I’ll be doing it honestly, like Scrooge McDuck!

Well, all respect to you and Galaxy Pig, the way I see it a “GF” in local is appropriate only if there was actually a fight. As in - instead of a curbstomp where the losing party can’t fight back - shots were actually exchanged, even if one side can only respond with token, futile resistance.

That Charon kill wasn’t a fight, it was a calculated and well-executed ambush, which I think is more deserving of an "Aaaargh, you got me!" than a “GF”. Same sentiment, of course. The least anyone can do is show their killer a little…well, I don’t know if you can call it ‘professional’ courtesy, but the sentiment is the same.

On a related note, just a few days ago I was asking in the intel channel what kind of player ganks with a Purifier, and it seems that I’ve got my answer. When you said the guy was rich you weren’t frakking kidding…

Eh, to my eyes he’s just arguing the semantics of it. God knows I do that often enough myself!

I honestly wonder why Sabus Narian even plays this game if he’s so unhappy with it. Why can’t he just do what everyone else does when they decide that EvE is not for them and simply quit playing?

I totally agree, it is just a semantic distinction. I’m just pointing out that non-butthurt players don’t feel the need to harp on this little semantic distinction about what constituted REAL PVP.

I personally do not care. I kill retrievers. Call it what you will.

I do like to point out butthurt when I see it, however.

How is killing your miners not PvP? Are they players?

How is it not a 'good fight? You have everything stacked in your favor, tanky mining ships protected by CONCORD.

Why can’t you just admit that you’ve led thousands of new players to their doom?

No, he really is unhappy with it. All of his “opinions” consist of “EVE is not the game for me, it needs to be the exact opposite of what it is now”. He’s trying to play a PvP sandbox game as a solo AFK farming game and spends all of his time demanding that CCP remove PvP and make everything easier so his wallet numbers can go up faster. He would genuinely be better off playing a game that is already closer to what he wants to do.

Nonsense. I have no problem with what you call PvE (most of which is actually PvP). I have a problem with lazy and entitled PvE players who incessantly whine about how EVE is too difficult and demand nerfs to anything that threatens their mindless 23/7 AFK farming.

Which is a valid playstyle. That’s the whole “sandbox” thing. People can in fact play however they want, no matter how much you cry about it.

Again you demonstrate your ignorance of what “sandbox” means. In no way does the concept mean that you can choose a “play style” and expect it to be supported.

No he doesn’t. In fact what he argues for is actually more PvP. He wants AG to be a viable mechanics so he can PvP with gankers.

Lolwut. Have you confused him with someone else? He doesn’t want more PvP, he wants CONCORD to protect everything, wars to be removed, and highsec titans so he can farm without any threat of being ganked. There’s a reason why, when someone made his corp war eligible, he stopped playing EVE and told his corp to spam CCP with petitions instead of fighting back.

AFK is not a valid playstyle since no play is involved.
