I think having this null space for this would give gankers an opportunity to make isk as most don’t play PvP for isk making. I know ganking is different, but it changes the focus, to being a real pirate and looting and still a way to make your ships and fitting more reasonable, while ratting and the like in the area.
I wouldn’t change anything at all. I’m progressing very well in an Eve that is exactly how I like it. And that includes the risk of being ganked. And I am happy to be a prime example of how being ganked and gate camped in the same week…doesn’t make people leave. I am still here…9 months later…as a case study for how your claims are totally wrong.
To clarify they would always be flashy, if you go below -5 you are yellow, if you hit -10 you are red. No way to turn it off unless you bring above the numbers. Basically, you don’t need a kill rights to engage, you don’t have to wait for the gank to start, you could actually hunt to prevent.
For the LP you can make it Empire based. If you kill a ganker in Amarr space you get that empire LP. You could adjust the amounts of LP to make the time worth the activity.
Thats just wh life. Banishing gankers to null is hardly a good idea. BTW, Code and groups like that would jut supply their high sec gank alts with tags from null. Do better homework please.
Is hardly lore. And lore was never a driver of game mechanics. It is what it is and we work with what we have. Adding more complexity will not help at this point.
Your plan is crazy. It effectively means if I want to proactively attack one of the pests who hang around corp HQ and bait people…I have to leave my corp…join the pirate corp, which then makes me a ganker rather than someone defending against pests…attack the pest…and then re-apply to join my corp.
You clearly haven’t thought it out. Ganking is not a role…it is an activity. To force everyone who might want to engage in said activity into some silly corp just so they can do so is about as potty as it gets.
Basically you are just clutching at straws, devising any old daft plan in the hope people wont notice how daft it is.
I understand how they work, and yes for those players, some changes how things would work would be needed, but yes essentially you can be shot at, engaged with without concord interfering before you even start a gank.
For the faction police they don’t smother you unless you have engaged in a ganking activity. If undocking you are flashy, I can shoot you while flying from system to system doing nothing wrong. LIke a pirate aka rats.
It should affect your teather, not mess with your docking, gates etc. All the other mechanics of the game don’t engage until you are engaged like normal in ganking activities, then faction police get involved.
This would all for anti-ganking game play to be a real role in the game, and have a chance to do real disruption to the ganking game play (counter play) if you will.
