Nerf gila please

you have nowhere in the game the dominance that the Gila has in a single field. That alone would justify to tone the ship down

But where is the problem? Gila farming in a C2 wormhole? Running L3 missions? Did you need one extra Catalyst to gank the Gila? It makes no sense it’s just a random guy opening a thread without any explanation on the UI Photom forum.

Why should I claim something that I cannot back up?

My Gila has:

• 875 DPS up to 16km, 757 DPS up to 30km (with good application, not some falloff thingy)
• 65.5k eHP with a 140ehp/s passive recharge
• a 3point Scram to hold stabbed targets
• a 14km Web to make the missiles hurt
• moves at 1825m/s (2615 on OH to catch someone)

All that before a single implant, drug, fleetboost or anything.

…and does cost below 450M total.

“I” never said there was. The Gila is great at what it does. But that’s the catch, it’s still a not across the board great ship. Like every op ship out there, I use them for specific reasons depending on many variables.

“used by lots” does not translate to un balanced.
kill faster maybe? write them angry ingame mails and set them red you can kill them in low or null sec later?

The only problem is CCP never nerfs a “bit”. It’s usually with an unbalanced hammer.

This is what players say about every gave developers.

They say that about me as well when I nerf something on my NWN1 server.

Players are not objective. They stop playing that build automatically without even trying just because it was nerfed.

Fun story. About 3 years ago I nerfed a Warlock class on my server. That class was extremely unbalanced with traits that no other class had that allowed to teleport around map endlessly and so on. I nerfed it. Players cried I nerfed it too much, that it is no longer playable class and were ragequitting and abandoning the class en masse. Nobody played the class for whole year. Then one new player picked the class because nobody told him it was nerfed. Guess what, he managed to make several speed records with the class and made it meta again…

So again, players are simply not objective. Especially if they are playing with the thing that gets nerfed.

Players will always adapt, and we will always see the next op ship be abused as well. When will that stop?

Nerf the Gila all you want, it won’t solve the problem (if there’s even one) as the replacement op ship will just roll down the line…

It will solve the problem because the gap between Gila and the next best thing is so large that there aren’t really alternatives right now. Of course I am not talking about t2-4 combat anomalies in highsec lol. On those there are better choices actually. DED5 and t5+ anoms? Only t3c.
