Policy Update - Real Life Threats & Harassment

Then stop generalizing

Lol

But how do you expect people to follow these rules if they don’t even know what they are exactly?

Just as an example: I for one don’t subscribe to the idea that a patriarchy exists and I would be called sexist for it and there are many, many other points that I would simply consider a conpiracy theory or “nonsense” and for which I would be called names.

While I don’t have any discussions about those topics ingame or on forums, I still think it’s important to have a definition because without a definiton, you can label everyone as an offender.

We are living in a world were, as mentioned before, literally every single word you say could be interpreted as sexist. Best is to not use chat at all?

I don’t think you can put this away with a “don’t be a douche” (I know it’s tempting to try to dodge that bullet). At least, CCP should state whether they follow factual definitions or if they subscribe to the “feelings > facts” notion so players who might be tempted to comment on things know what they have to expect.

Sexism, Racism and Hate Speech are overly weaponized words and yes, they are political. Least you can do as a politician yourself is to advocate for a proper framework to be given to players.

After the Linux CoC changes, now this. This week is such a great time for salt mining “SJWs” like me :stuck_out_tongue:

Is laughing at someone in chat when they trigger concord on themselves when they shoot you in anger when you salvage their wrecks (or in any other situation really) considered offensive / harassment? :stuck_out_tongue:

What about people like russians and others who say nasty things involving family members or other types when you steal their stuff, can they be reported?

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!1111oneoneone

heh

Do you want an example of every single rule that falls under sexism, harassment and racism in your country? Then hire a lawyer or respective different name in your country and they can inform you, however most people are usually well informed of these basics in school, no offence intended.

actually no. Where are you from?

Its done on a case by case basis.

I really love those
I might have a few in my mailbox :joy:

Caldari space and yourself?

No, not really. Calling a male a male when unknowingly to you he identifies as a she is offensive to them. And they can stir the pot bigly if allowed to. Where’s the cut off for CCP is the question? Common sense isn’t so common anymore.

That’s just not true. They’ve done multiple posts about botters, how many have been banned, how much ISK removed, and two different live events where botters were moved to Yulai and the community blew them up.

Enforcement is always an issue, yes, but the idea that they’re not doing anything is nonsense.

It is common sense respective of it being decided on a case by case basis respective of laws and appropriate ethics decided by powers and the people that be where necessary.

Yeah, you could do that if you would know where the line is… that’s entirely the problem tbh. These terms are a social issue, not a legal one (no laws for rassism or sexism in Germany, only inciteful speech). So it’s quite unfair to tell people you can’t say without telling them what they can’t say.

I am trying not to openly be doxxed mate, I meant nothing bad of that comment. If you really want to know where I am from PM me in game and we can have a chat, or send me a message on here if possible. I meant no harm in my comment just I am trying to guard my real life privacy. Also I am not from the USA if that helps.

I just want to add that common sense is a myth now

People are simply dumb in these times

The longer the definition, the more rules lawyering you invite. This isn’t a court of law, it’s a video game. If folks are crossing the line - and CCP determines that line, on a case by case basis - they’re going to deal with the consequences.

The easiest way to not have to deal with this stuff is to not get close to that line. This isn’t the place to make a political statement. Play the game, have fun, don’t threaten people IRL for what happens in the game.

Not hard.

You are right, I am going back to playing 110% of the game.
