Not really tho
This needs to pop up all over the game, reddit, etc for people to notice.
A large part of the population don’t come here or don’t read the EVE news

Its on the launcher at the top.
Is mis-gendering and using the wrong pronouns harassment under this policy?
I am only here because something came up on my Facebook feed.
When I open the launcher I press play
If it’s updating, I tab out.
I don’t read the things unless it’s a plex sale announcement or major patch notes
Only if you’re Canadian.
Unless you can prove it is roleplay then yes it would in my opinion.
Well, Browse social Media, Youtube etc. and you will see that a lot of people there have vastly different opinions on these terms.
Part of my question was still aimed whether CCP will use the actual terms as defined by the dictionary or if CCP will subscribe to the “feelings culture” that is ever so prominent.
It’s not. It’s asking for an idea of what to expect because these terms aren’t as clear as they used to be anymore. Do you really dispute that people throw these words around like candy and often completely misuse these terms?
Just listen to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3m-bcaCVbM
and tell me again that it’s rule’s lawyering if you want to have an idea of what to expect and whether CCP takes Speakers on a UN panel more serious than properly defined terms.
I am starting to think Eve Online should just make a sub version of this game without NSFW content… Eve Online for Kids.
We urge people to report stuff to the platform in question and we provide links to guide people with that process.
We’ve also always stated in our EULA that we reserve the right to assist authorities in investigations of crimes.
We’ve also always, and will continue to, urge people to contact authorities if they feel threatened or pursued outside the game.
These things are not mutually exclusive.
What we want to make clear to people now in case there was any doubt, is that we do reserve the right to exclude people from our services, in certain cases, where severity and certainty are in place. And that there is maybe more support than you think if you’re dealing with certain things that you can’t handle on your own.
This has happened in that past, this is not really new, but the internet has changed, the boundaries are different, and we want to send the message that it’s not cool to do stuff to other people from the game just because it’s technically not on a CCP server.
How has the acquisition of CCP by that other company who does that black desert mmo, affected this policy decision ?
i.e. is this a change which is being made because of the acquisition of CCP ? Or is this a change that was going to happen anyway for unrelated reasons ?
Which is perfectly fine, but, as you mentioned, the internet has changed and there are plenty of different people around that think differently and people don’t subscribe to the same social “norms” anymore. You can’t simply ignore problematic terms like Racism/Sexism and HateSpeech, which many people don’t subscribe too, and ask everyone to follow them without giving at least an idea of what you would consider “sexist”.
I mean, technically, you can ofc as you make the rules. However, it’s kinda unfair to people that don’t follow the same ideas you might do and how would people know if you don’t share your thoughts and, instead, use vague statements because you need to avoid being clear on it…
I have two questions, what does SJW mean in long and since the beginning of time (character birth + 1 month) I do this role playing thing and say things like “I hate minmatar”, does this violate to rules?
Mingja for world president.
Thanks for the reply though indirectly to my comment. I only bring it up as these updates seem to have come at a time when the flames of an old wound and being fanned. But you are right, you can not now hold people responsible just because CCP Games has decided to change “the law”
However I hope moving forward phrases like “Case by case baisis” and “Extenuating circumstances” are a thing of the past.
I would however like to ask further to this point. Where does the line stop? If I do an Eve Online game review on Youtube and happen to voice my displeasure or outrage at something or someone’s actions does this then violate CCP Games policy under the section given in the link below?
Social justice warriors
YouTube has some great footage of them
but the internet has changed
That does not mean bowing down to every easiy offended snowflake, I hope. SJWs might be everywhere, bit your userbase has not changed and will not change.
Laughing at mistakes in EVE will give you a temporary training speed bonus actually.
Anyone who says nasty things involving family members in-game can be reported same as the last 15 years. Our Customer Support team will evaluate each case for context, severity, past history and make a call on a case by case basis
SJW = Social Justice Warrior - people advocating for social justice.
Social Justice was used as a term for the fight to keep wealth distribution (poor vs rich) in Check in the past, but has been morphed into an insult by opponents of the “feelings matter more than facts”-side to mock people that think feelings matter more than facts.
(Free interpretation from germany, your mileage may vary on the first part)
@Annah_Tsero and @Mingja, that you both! That clarifies things.
Dear CCP Falcon, whenever I read something like this in local or else, I usually are amused but will I then be banned for not reporting and what about “salt farmers”?
And to be really, really sure, does the same policy apply to SiSi as well?
